Chevrolet Sail U-VA LS (Petrol): Pros & Cons

Petrol Engine Lacks Punch

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Chevrolet Sail U-VA LS (Petrol) is a mixed bag when it comes to overall performance and user experience. On the positive side, it offers a refined petrol engine, though it lacks the torque needed for brisk acceleration, making it more suited for city commutes and family runs rather than enthusiastic driving. The cars ride quality and handling are commendable, especially in low-speed conditions, and it provides ample interior space and comfortable rear legroom. However, the gearbox can be unfocussed, and the cars exterior design, while not unappealing, does not stand out in its segment. Additionally, some users have reported issues with the plastic quality and minor defects post-delivery. Overall, it is a decent option for those seeking a family car with good space and comfort, but it may not excite those looking for a more dynamic driving experience.
Price
The Chevrolet Sail U-VA LS (Petrol) was priced competitively in the Indian market, with the ex-showroom price starting at around Rs. 5.49 lakhs for the LS variant and going up to Rs. 6.41 lakhs for the top LT ABS variant. However, since Chevrolet has discontinued its operations in India, these prices are now more relevant for the used car market. On-road prices, which include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, would have been approximately Rs. 6.5 lakhs to Rs. 7.5 lakhs, depending on the state and local regulations. Given its features and performance, the Sail U-VA LS (Petrol) was well-priced, offering good value for money, especially considering its spacious interior and comfortable ride.

While buying a car we have to consider sum total of it like space, comfort, safety, brakes, engine, mileage, suspension, ingress and egress, driver's view, feeling of fatigue during long drive. I don't feel pain in the back and in neck while driving 6-7 hrs at a stretch. My age is 50 plus. So I think this is the one of the best hatchbacks.
