Our take on this /// Verdict
The Bugatti Chiron W16 is a marvel of engineering, a car that defies the boundaries of what is thought possible on four wheels. With its 8.0-liter W16 engine producing a staggering 1479 bhp and 1600 Nm of torque, this car accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 420 kmph. The driving experience is nothing short of exhilarating, with precise steering, exceptional handling, and an overwhelming sense of power. However, its 1.9 million (approximately 19.21 crore) price tag and the need for extensive road space to fully exploit its capabilities make it a niche purchase for the ultra-wealthy and the passionate. Despite these limitations, the Chiron W16 is a masterpiece that showcases the pinnacle of automotive innovation.
Price
In India, the Bugatti Chiron W16 comes with an estimated ex-showroom price of 19,21,42,937. When you factor in the various taxes and other costs, the on-road price can easily exceed 20 crore. This makes the Chiron W16 one of the most expensive cars available in the Indian market. The price is reflective of the cars exclusive nature, limited production, and the unparalleled engineering that goes into each unit. For those who can afford it, the Chiron W16 offers a unique ownership experience that is hard to match with any other vehicle.

Bugattis CEO, Mate Rimac, has announced that the companys next target is to break the 500km/h barrier. This ambitious goal involves developing specialized tires and finding a suitable venue for the attempt. Rimac discussed the technical challenges, including the need for advanced tire technology, with representatives from Michelin. I believe pushing these limits is what makes Bugatti stand out in the automotive world.

Bugatti has set a new record with the Mistral, an open-roof road car, achieving a top speed of 282mph (453.9km/h) at the Papenburg test track in Germany. This feat marks one of the last hurrahs for the iconic W16 engine before it is phased out. The Mistral was driven by Andy Wallace, a British top speed specialist. I think this is a fitting swansong for the W16 engine, showcasing its incredible performance capabilities.

The Chiron successor is expected to be more exclusive than its predecessors, with fewer than 300 units planned for production. Initially, only owners of the Veyron or Chiron will be able to order the new model, which will likely boost the values of these earlier cars. I think this exclusivity will add to the allure of the new Bugatti.

Bugattis decision to phase out the W16 engine marks the end of an era for the brand. The W16 has been a cornerstone of Bugattis performance and identity since its introduction in the Veyron in 2005. I believe this change will be a significant milestone in Bugattis history, paving the way for new innovations.

The Bugatti Mistral, one of the last models to feature the W16 engine, has been celebrated for its performance. A one-off World Record Edition Mistral was commissioned by a customer to set the open-top road car top speed record. This unique car is part of a highly individualized program that Bugatti offers to its customers. I think this level of customization is a testament to Bugattis commitment to its clients.

Despite earlier rumors of a V16 engine in the Chiron successor, Bugatti has only confirmed that the new model will be a hybrid. There has been no official statement on the specific engine configuration. The company is expected to reveal more details in 2024. I think the suspense is building up nicely for what promises to be an exciting reveal.

The Bugatti Chirons successor, set to be unveiled in 2024, will mark a significant departure from the brands traditional W16 engine. Instead, it will feature a hybrid powertrain, potentially a V-8 setup, leveraging the electrical expertise of Rimac. The design will retain classic Bugatti elements like the horseshoe grille and C-shaped side bodywork. I think this change could bring a fresh and innovative edge to Bugattis lineup.
Thursday, 20 July 2023 02:05 AM
Bugattis former chief of design, Achim Anscheidt, confirmed that the Chiron successors design is finalized and production tooling is underway. The new car will be lighter due to the switch from the W16 to a hybrid V-8 powertrain and will include a new chassis. The interior will maintain elegant designs similar to the Chiron. I believe the blend of modern tech and classic design will be a hit with Bugatti enthusiasts.

Bugattis partnership with Rimac is expected to play a crucial role in the development of its future models, including the first electric Bugatti car. After the Chiron successor, Bugatti will focus on this electric vehicle, leveraging Rimacs expertise in electric hypercars. I believe this transition will be a significant step forward for the brand.

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport, powered by the 8.0-liter W16 engine, has been praised for its technical maxims and emotional sound. The car features advanced aerodynamics, including front fender vents and air curtains, to enhance downforce and reduce drag. I think the attention to detail in this car is what makes it a phenomenal force on the road.
Mileage
Wednesday, 20 November 2024 06:28 AM
The Bugatti Chiron W16 is not a car for the mileage-conscious buyer. With an ARAI-certified mileage of 5.95 kmpl, it is clear that fuel efficiency is not a priority here. The cars massive engine and performance capabilities come at the cost of significant fuel consumption. However, for those who are considering this car, mileage is likely the least of their concerns, given the overall package of performance, luxury, and exclusivity it offers.

Bugatti Chiron W16 Discussion
It will accelerate from 0-62mph in less than 2.5 seconds, 0-124mph in less than 6.5 and 0-186mph in under 13.6. Take a moment to let that last one sink in. That’s 2.9 seconds faster than a P1 and a second quicker than the Veyron Super Sport, bearing in mind that at 186mph a second equals a lot of fresh air - 83m of it to be precise.
