Mahindra Electric Reva E2O T2
About
The Mahindra Electric Reva e2o T2 is an electric hatchback designed primarily for urban use. It features a 48-volt battery pack and a 3-phase electric motor producing 26PS of peak power and 54Nm of peak torque. The car has an automatic transmission with two driving modes and can go from 0-50kmph in about 4.3 seconds, with a top speed of 81 kph. The interior is well-appointed with leather seats, although the rear seats are less comfortable due to limited cushioning and an upright stance. The cars ride quality is firm, which can be uncomfortable on rough roads, but it handles well in city traffic. The braking performance is confident, though the brakes can feel spongy. The e2o T2 also comes with features like a Solar powered charge point option and a Quick2Charge system, making it a practical choice for those with short to medium distance commuting needs.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Electric Reva e2o T2 is a unique offering in the Indian electric vehicle market, but it comes with its set of pros and cons. On the positive side, it feels like a normal everyday car, comfortably seating four adults, and its electric motor provides a sprightly performance, especially in urban settings. The car handles well in city traffic, thanks to its MacPherson strut suspension and coil springs, although it may not be the best on rough roads. However, the lack of active balancing systems in the Battery Management System (BMS) and the discontinuation of some of the advanced monitoring features post-Revas acquisition by Mahindra are significant drawbacks. The high price point and limited range of about 120 kilometers on a full charge also make it less appealing for long-distance travel. Despite these issues, the e2o T2 remains a viable option as a second or third car for short urban commutes, especially with the long-term savings on fuel costs.
Price
The Mahindra Electric Reva e2o T2 was priced at a premium of around Rs 5.91 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai) for the fully loaded version. When considering the on-road price, additional costs such as registration, insurance, and any applicable subsidies need to be factored in. For instance, during its launch, the car benefited from a Rs 1 lakh discount from Mahindra and another Rs 1 lakh subsidy under the FAME scheme, along with exemptions from road tax. However, these prices and incentives may vary depending on the state and any changes in government policies. The overall cost, while initially high, can be offset by long-term savings on fuel and maintenance, making it a consideration for those looking to reduce their urban commuting expenses.

The Mahindra e2o NXT, a refreshed version of the e2o, was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2018, featuring updated design elements like bull-horn LED headlights and funkier alloy wheels. The interior includes a larger, tablet-like touchscreen infotainment system. I think these updates make the e2o NXT look more premium and user-friendly.

Mahindra discontinued the two-door e2o in India in November 2016, replacing it with the four-door e2o Plus. However, the company announced that the e2o would continue to be sold in the export market. This move was part of their strategy to focus on more practical models.

Mahindra launched the e2o in the UK in April 2016, with prices starting at around Rs. 12.25 lakh for the base trim. The UK version had better specs than its Indian counterpart, including a higher top speed and longer range. I believe this international launch was a significant step for Mahindras electric vehicle ambitions.

Mahindra Reva introduced an innovative ownership scheme called Goodbye Fuel, Hello Electric for the e2o, which split the acquisition cost into an initial payment and an e2o care protection plan. This plan included 24/7 assistance and a courtesy car during battery repair. This scheme was aimed at making electric car ownership more accessible.

The Mahindra Electric Reva e2o T2 offers a range of about 120 kilometers on a full charge, which is adequate for urban commutes but limited for long-distance travel. The charging time is around 5 hours using a 15-ampere socket, and there is also a Quick2Charge feature that can charge the car in just one hour. This range makes it suitable for daily city use, but users need to be mindful of the charging infrastructure and plan their trips accordingly.

I need something new, now I think that the car you have made is for common man. Please make some new arrangement like a very small AC system which will not consume more power but it should drop some temp inside the car not like a Swift Dzire but people inside should feel comfortable. Again I think u should have to add some battery improvement like mobile fast charging technology, you should also implement the fast charging in your car battery. Use of light which use very low power and able to give a bright light, audio system should also to be changed use mini laptop speakers which is not to loud and consume less electricity and light weight these speakers are crystal clear than traditions loud speakers. Thank you, I love your thinking please contact me because I have a new innovative idea regarding electric car because I am also working on same model which is enough to give u a good mileage. Please contact me, need some idea from Mahindra or I will give some idea.
Best Features: It is fully ecofriendly
Pros: I like the whole car
Cons: The battery capacity

Mahindra Electric Reva E2O T2 Discussion
its really highly priced.....
Dear M&M officials, please make a official clarification about the concerns raised by Mr Mohan about the price, and subsequent expenses towards the maintenance for effective utilization for the hard paid money for the newly introduced E2O. Dhirendra
I created a Savings calculator check it out :
hey.. don't be fooled by the heading..the price quoted is applicable to only delhi after subsidy of more than 1.5 lacs from state govt..please note no other state is providing this.. In other cities the on road price for T0 is 8.5 and T1 model is 8.95lacs (except bangalore)... most of the websites (some of them might be paid) praises the car.. but the reality is that it is not worth more than 4 to 5 lacs.. there is nothing great about this..M&M have done just arranged a big body for the old reva and they say the E2O is technically far from old reva-i... who cares..when the basic purpose itself is not served... if you arrange the solar panel at home for 1.5 lacs (mentioned by mahindra )..then the price is more than 10 lacs and one can happily buy an XUV500... entering into the rear seat is definitely a tough job...a medium built person finds it difficult.. the worst part is that the break and accelerator are very closely packed with no space on either side and hardly any space between them.. it is possible that you press accelerator instead of breaks... it doesn't need great engineering but just common sense.. mahindra reva boasts of fuel savings.. does it mention the limitations? the range is very less..less than 100km..if you are in a heavu traffice with A/C on..you get max of 70km.. tha battery life according to mahindra is 5yrs..what if it gets damaged in an year..it costs you 1.5lacs..
similar to mobile/laptop batteries, this also has the aging effects because of which the duration that the charge lasts slowly comes down..in the first year, on full charge if it runs 100km..in second year it may run only 80km.. by the end of 5yrs it may come down to 40km.. if you frequently charge before complete discharge..then also the battery life will be very less.. you cant go beyond city limits even in full charge (though it is designed for city drive and recommended as second car)..with the same money you can have a second and third car (considering swift/ hyundai i10 etc)... even if you have money earnt illegally, you will not be ready to buy this car at the quoted price.. mahindra targets 400 to 500 units per month in the whole country..I bet.. they cant sell 4 to 5 cars per month.. if they..then that is great achievement.. the CEO/MD of M&M themselves donnot buy at that price...
Too costly for a car that can run only a max 100km in a strech - ie. we can not use this car to drive from 1 city to another. Battery cost will consume all the advantage of low running cost. Better to buy a sedan - having more safe, comfort and reliability
friggin costly but good shit....
expensive price wise, its realy depend upon the kilometer run in one charge
its too costy
Priced too much
cute for ladies use
Why its so costly?
