Yamaha Saluto RX 110 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Yamaha Motor India has come up with a new bike Saluto RX in its legendary RX segment. The Saluto RX is a 110cc commuter designed for young male riders across the country. The basic design has been derived from Saluto 125 and it promises to deliver an impressive fuel economy at a low kerb weight of 98 kg. The Yamaha Saluto RX has got a 110cc, four-stroke, single cylinder, two valve engine capable to deliver 7.39 bhp power and 8.50 Nm torque which is less as compared to its rivals. The new TVS Victor's 109cc engine delivers 9.46 bhp and 9.4 Nm whereas Hero Passion Xpro's 109.1cc engine churns out 8.58 hp and 9.36 Nm of torque. On the other hand, Honda Dream Neo with its 109.2cc engine produces 8.25 bhp and 8.63 Nm of torque. The engine of Yamaha Saluto RX 110 has been designed with Yamaha's Blue Core technology and is compliant with BS-IV emission norms . The four-speed manual gearbox is mated to the engine for power transmission. The bike has been styled like Saluto 125 giving it a high-class look but the chassis is all new for Saluto RX 110.
The bike has an amazing overall length, width and height of 2020 mm, 740 mm and 1045 mm respectively. With the length of 2020 mm Saluto is the longest bike in this segment after which comes Honda Dream Neo, Honda Xpro, TVS Victor with length of 2009 mm, 2005 mm and 1980 mm respectively. The bike has got 17 inch tyres which are same as that of TVS Victor. The bike has a seat height of 785 mm and offers a ground clearance of 175 mm. It has a wheelbase of 1255 mm and a kerb weight of 98 kg which is lightest in its segment and ensures its high performance and efficiency. The Saluto RX 110 has fuel tank capacity of 7.2 litres and oil tank capacity of 1.0 litres. Yamaha Saluto RX 110 has got its styling from the Saluto 125 adding to its premium appeal but the chassis is all new for Saluto RX 110. The bike has got stylish halogen headlamp, brake light and turn signal light. It has an extra lightweight and ultra diamond frame 10 spokes alloy wheels wrapped in tube tyres giving it a delicate look which adds to its beauty. The 7.2 litre capacity fuel tank is covered with plastic resin covers from both left and right sides.
The bike has telescopic front forks and twin shock absorbers at the rear for its suspension duties. The Saluto has got 130 mm mechanical leading drum brake both at front and the rear. For now, the front disc brake option is not available. The bike features a large back-lit instrument cluster which makes it readable both during the day time and at night. The Yamaha Saluto RX 110 features an analog speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge. But there's no tachometer present in the instrument console of the bike. Since it is an entry level bike, so you wouldn't be able to find advanced features in the bike. The features are good enough to support your ride from point A to point B. The bikes offers a long comfortable seat cushioned with thick foam which makes the drive smooth for both the pillion and the rider.
Along with that the bike has got an electric start for a quick ride of yours. To add to the comfort of the pillion there is a grab rail and footrest provided on the bike. The Yamaha RX 110 has a top speed of 90 kmph. The mileage in city, highway and the combined comes out to be 60 kmpl, 70 kmpl and 65 kmpl respectively. For the first time in this segment, Yamaha has introduced a Matt Black Paint paint scheme. The Yamaha Saluto RX 110 is available in four color variants- Breezy Blue, Matt Black, Inspiring Red and Gleaming Black. Pricing is one of the points that is going to prove a deal breaker for Yamaha RX 110. With such a light weight, affordable price and high fuel efficiency this bike will definitely fetch profits for Yamaha. Moreover, the bike has got an electric start and alloy wheels.
