Bajaj Platina 110 Review

09 Nov, 2023 03:59 PM

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Introduction

The Bajaj Platina was initially launched as a 100cc bike in the country in 2006 and witnessed a huge success in the market. This commuter bike became immensely popular thanks to its design and build quality. Later, the manufacturer introduced the Platina 110 to the market. Thanks to its rough and tough body, Platina has remained the first choice for daily commuters. Let’s discuss in detail all its specs and features.

Bajaj Platina 110 Design & Style

The Bajaj Platina 110 is a true Platina in terms of design and styling. Finished in a combination of colour schemes, the bike also gets branding embossed in 3D letters on the fuel tank. The front fascia gets LED DRL above the headlight and is designed to offer proper illumination even in low-light areas. The compact mask over the headlight and also around the handles offers not only a stylish look but is also practical. These hand guards protect your hands in severe situations.

Bajaj Platina 110 Colour Options

This time around, the pillion rest comes as a wide rubber pad for enhanced comfort for the pillion rider. The broad and wide, well-quilted saddle adds to the comfiness of the new Bajaj Platina 110. It makes long journeys more comfortable for both the rider and the pillion. Blacked-out engine casing, Platina branding on the seat and new taillights are some of the other key attractions.

In terms of body dimensions, the bike has an overall length of 2006 mm, an overall width of 741 mm, and a height of 1100 mm with a wheelbase of 1255 mm. The ground clearance of the bike is 200 mm, which helps in easily roaming the Indian roads, and the seat height of the bike is 807 mm. As far as the bike’s weight is concerned, the kerb weight is 119 or 122 kg depending on the variant.

Bajaj Platina 110 Instrument Console

Bajaj has offered the Platina 110 with a really interesting combination of a speedometer and a digital display. This instrument console unit is easily readable and provides information including a clock, odometer, fuel gauge, trip meter and gear position indicator for assisting the driver in a better ride. But it also needs to be mentioned here that the digital speedometer option is offered in disc variants only.

Bajaj Platina 110 Engine & Gearbox

Powering the 2024 Bajaj Platina 110 is a 115.45cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, Bajaj-patented DTS-i engine that comes mated with a 5-speed gearbox. This transmission helps the bike drive through city traffic with more torque and an extensive speed range. This engine is capable of churning out 8.48 HP at 7000 rpm and 9.81 Nm of torque at 5000 rpm. The DTS-i technology also helps in generating a good volume of mileage.

Bajaj Platina 110 Brakes, Suspension & Tyres

Braking duties in the new Platina 110 are handled by disc or drum brakes depending on the variant. 130mm Drum or 240mm Disc brakes are provided at the front of the bike and 110mm Drum with CBS at the rear. The suspension chores are assigned to Hydraulic, Telescopic, 135mm travel at the front and SOS with nitrox canister at the rear end. SnS Nitrox suspension absorbs the most intense jerks and provides a smooth ride on bumpy roads. The motorcycle gets 80/100-17, 46P, tubeless tyres at the front and 80/100-17, 53P, tubeless tyres at the rear.

Bajaj Platina 110 Top Speed & Mileage

2024 Bajaj Platina 110 offers a top speed of 90 km/h. As for mileage figures it can offer, the ARAI-certified fuel efficiency is 85 km/l, however, Bajaj Auto claims that in the real world, the bike may provide a mileage of 70-75 kmpl which is also impressive.

Bajaj Platina 110 Variants & Colour Options

Bajaj has offered the 2024 Platina 110 in a total of two variants depending on offered disc and drum brakes. The colour options for the disc variant include Satin Beach Blue, Charcoal Black and Volcanic Matte Red whereas the drum variant colour scheme comprises shades like Ebony Black Blue, Ebony Black Red and Cocktail Wine Red - Orange.

Bajaj Platina 110 Ex-showroom Price & On-Road Price

At present, the starting ex-showroom price of the 2024 Bajaj Platina 110 disc variant starts at Rs 74,061 while the drum variant starts at Rs 70,400. On the other hand, the on-road price in Delhi for this disc variant is Rs 85,244 while the drum variant is Rs 81,030. The price remains the same even for the different colour options.

The ex-showroom price is the vehicle's production cost + dealer/seller profit + GST (Goods and Services Tax) + transportation charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). The On-Road Price, on the other hand, is the real amount you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle roadworthy. It includes the ex-showroom price in your city, as well as RTO charges (vehicle registration), a one-time road tax, and insurance charges.

The On-Road Price also includes extra items such as Genuine Accessories and an Extended Warranty when purchasing a vehicle. Please keep in mind that the On-Road Price varies greatly across India due to various percentages for State Registration Charges.

Bajaj Platina 110 Competitors

In the Indian two-wheeler market, bikes similar to new Bajaj Platina 110 are the TVS Radeon 110, Honda CD 110 Dream, Bajaj CT 110, Hero Splendor Plus, Hero Passion Pro and the Hero Super Splendor.

Verdict - Should You Buy Bajaj Platina 110 or not?

Bajaj Autos’ tried and tested design and technology have been used in the Platina 110 bike. Its build and style entice Indian bike buyers who want to use the bike for daily commuting. The mileage figures it offers are the other attraction since it matters a lot if you buy a bike for commuting. So, If you are looking for a bike that is easily moveable through traffic and offers ride comfort at an affordable price, the Bajaj Platina 110 is definitely for you.

I bought this bike from 1 month ago. It's mileage is good. It's suspension is very nice. It's seat is soft but it is narrow for rider. It's sitting position is not good as compare to TVS star city plus and Honda CB Shine. Old Platina kick start bike is good for sitting position.

Best Features: Smooth handling

Pros: Pickup is good

Cons: Sitting position for rider is very bad
