The updated model of TVS Motor Company's commuter bike, the Radeon, has been introduced in India. The bike has extra features that should increase the Radeon's level of convenience. Firstly , the new Radeon is the first vehicle in this market to include a multi-color reverse LCD instrument cluster. All other features of the Radeon are unaltered. It has an air-cooled, 109.7cc engine that produces 8.08 horsepower and 8.7 Nm of torque.

Tuesday, 08 October 2024 04:05 AM TVS Motor Company has launched a new base variant of the TVS Radeon 110, priced at Rs 59,880, making it significantly more affordable than the mid variant. This base model comes in an all-black color scheme with a bronze engine cover and retains the TVS and Radeon badging. The bikes specifications, including the 109.7 cc engine and 4-speed gearbox, remain unchanged. I believe this move will help TVS tap into a more budget-conscious market segment.
Sunday, 06 October 2024 08:43 AM The TVS Radeon 110 has been updated with two new dual-tone color schemes - Red and Black, and Blue and Black - to commemorate its 4 lakh customer milestone. These new colors feature a dual-tone fuel tank and black body with colored side panels. The prices for these variants are slightly higher than the standard models. I think these new colors will appeal to customers looking for a stylish commuter bike.

Sunday, 15 September 2024 07:01 PM The TVS Radeon 110 now comes with a 5-year warranty, emphasizing the companys confidence in the bikes durability and performance. This warranty, combined with features like synchronized braking technology and a maintenance-free battery, makes the Radeon a reliable choice for daily commuting. I think this extended warranty will reassure potential buyers about the bikes long-term reliability.
Tuesday, 20 August 2024 07:27 PM TVS Motor Company has highlighted that the Radeon 110s fuel-injected engine delivers 15% better mileage compared to the previous BS4 carbureted motor. With a claimed mileage of 65 kmpl, this bike is positioned as a fuel-efficient option in the commuter segment. I believe this improvement in fuel efficiency will be a significant selling point for budget-conscious buyers.

TVS Radeon 110 Review

22 Dec, 2022 04:10 AM

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

The Radeon is TVS' entry-level commuter rival in a very competitive field. This segment has various offerings from brands such as Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj. The Radeon manages to distinguish itself with a couple of appealing characteristics.

The Radeon has now been modified to meet the new BS6 emission standards, with the majority of the changes focusing on its engine. This article describes the Radeon 110 in comparison with the previous generation.

TVS Radeon 110 Design and Style

The Radeon's aesthetic remains practical and no-nonsense. It has the design lines like the Hero Splendor Plus. Although we have gotten accustomed to this design. The new special edition model adds an artistic flair to the mix.

To begin, the body panels are painted a glossy purple that looks jazzy and is only available in the special edition trim. Metallic brake and clutch levers, a fuel tank pad, spherical chrome-finished mirrors, and a textured seat are also specific to this type. The Radeon continues to be quite excellent with body panel fitment and paint finishes. The build quality is still sturdy and durable attesting to the brand of TVS.

TVS Radeon 110 Engine and Gearbox

The replacement of the carburettor with a fuel injector is the most significant hardware modification in the Radeon BS6. This has resulted in a decrease in power output, which is currently 8.08 HP at 7350 rpm. The torque output of this 109cc mill has remained constant at 8.7 Nm at 4500 rpm. These changes have resulted in a 4kg weight boost, with the Radeon now weighing 116kg (drum) and 118kg (disc). During the BS6 changeover, a front disc was introduced, and it is only available in the special edition model.

It has a 10-litre gasoline tank capacity. The BS4 engine has a mileage of 69.3 km/l, which TVS claims have been enhanced by 15% using fuel injection. As a result, with a full tank, you may expect to go more than 600 kilometres in one trip.

While the impact of BS6-bound modifications is quite unpleasant on paper. In reality, the engine now feels smoother and more polished. The zippy quality of this powertrain has always appealed to users, and it remains a favourable feature of the bike. The Radeon's low-end acceleration is brisk, with enough pull for quick overtakes in traffic. The light clutch and smooth transmission add to its rideability, which is superior to its BS4 predecessor. Also, the motorcycle's distinctive bassy exhaust noise has been muffled.

The vibrations are quite well contained, as they are almost non-existent up to 60 km/h. Following that, you notice a tingling sensation on the handlebars and footpegs. But keep pushing it to 80 km/h and the feelings fade away. Although TVS has done an admirable job of keeping NVH levels under control. Radeon's engine does feel taxed on the highway, and the necessity for a fifth gear is noticed.

TVS Radeon 110 Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

2023 Radeon is supported by a single-cradle tubular chassis. Telescopic forks up front and hydraulic dual shock absorbers with a five-step preload adjustability at the back. It propels on 5-spoke alloy wheels wrapped with 2.75 x 18 front and 3.00 x 18 rear tyres. Braking is handled by the 130mm front Drum and 110mm rear drum in the base variant.

The Radeon's braking hardware needs a significant upgrade. The drum variation has little bite and feel, which fades after a few minutes of riding. Thanks to the SBT, the wheels rarely lock up when braking (synchronised braking tech). The front disc model should suffice for improved braking performance.

The low seat height makes swinging a leg over the Radeon straightforward. Once astride, you'll be in a relaxed riding position with a neutral riding stance. The seat is also comfortable and forgiving, especially on prolonged journeys.

2023 Radeon particularly impresses in handling, as it is quite light on its feet. Filtering through traffic and changing directions is easy and fun. Thanks to its lightweight and nimble handling. And the compact width of the handlebar allows you to fit through even the smallest of gaps. When it comes to riding quality, stiff suspension design ensures that undulations are not entirely bottomed out. Going over potholes, stones, and rumblers seems uncomfortable at low speeds, but it glides away at higher speeds.

Key Features of TVS Radeon 110

2023 TVS Radeon has a halogen headlamp as well as a horizontal LED DRL. The indicators and tail lamp are all made of bulbs.

The motorcycle has basic features such as an analogue console. But you do get some smart and practical features. Such as thigh cushions on the gasoline tank, an eco sign for better mileage, a USB charging port, a luggage rack, and a tail carrier.

The all-analogue instrument cluster displays speed, fuel level, Econometer lights, odometer readings, and other warning lights.

TVS did not include the loud side-stand alarm that the BS4 trim has. It lacks the side-stand engine inhibitor which is now standard on motorcycles.

TVS Radeon 110 Competitors

Hero Splendor Plus and Bajaj CT110 are direct rivals to the new TVS Radeon. The Radeon competes in its pricing range with the Honda CD 110 Dream and Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6.

Conclusion

2023 TVS Radeon is a capable everyday driver that has improved even more in BS6 form. The motorcycle's costs are roughly identical to those of its competitors, starting at Rs 60K (base) and up to Rs 78K (Digi disc), ex-showroom. If you're looking for a tough and durable everyday commuter with an economical and potent engine, quick handling, utilitarian features, superb comfort, and decent ride quality at this price. Then Radeon ticks all the boxes and we recommend it. It may perform better with stronger brakes and extra amenities like the side stand engine cut-off switch and silent starter.
