USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The 2011 Yamaha YZF-R1 is a formidable sports bike that stands out for its exceptional performance and handling. From my experience, the R1s cross-plane crankshaft engine delivers a unique and exhilarating riding experience, with smooth and seamless power delivery even from low gears. However, its important to note some potential issues, such as the noisy and grabby clutch, which can be a concern for some riders. Additionally, there have been reports of the death ray headlight lens issue, although Yamaha made some adjustments in the 2010 models. Despite these minor drawbacks, the R1s overall package of power, handling, and that distinctive exhaust sound make it a compelling choice for serious motorcyclists.
Price
In India, the 2011 Yamaha YZF-R1 was priced around 14,23,000 ex-showroom. When considering the on-road price, you would need to factor in additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could push the total cost to around 16-17 lakhs, depending on the state and local regulations. This pricing positions the R1 as a premium offering in the Indian market, targeting serious enthusiasts and collectors who are willing to invest in a high-performance motorcycle.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 08:03 PM The mileage of the 2011 Yamaha YZF-R1 in India is not particularly impressive, given its high-performance nature. You can expect an average mileage of around 10-15 kml, which is typical for a sports bike of this caliber. This means that running costs will be higher, especially considering the premium fuel it requires. However, for those who prioritize performance over fuel efficiency, the R1s mileage is a trade-off worth considering.

Price is very high.. You can get Skoda Laura for this price... I think its foolish to buy Superbikes or liter-class bikes in India! Bad roads, high price of bikes, heavy maintenance costs if the bikes are rode daily.. I rode this bike twice in Philadelphia, US and I had the opportunity to ride an MV Augusta (Italian bike) F4 1078.. Well compared to European vehicles Japanese bikes are just useless! If have an opportunity ride an MV..Yamaha R1 and other japanese bikes are just a hype in front of an MV Agusta..!

To take on this bike BMW has released its S1000RR 193 bhp and cost less than R1, price tag of R1 is bit tooooooo high.
