Most of all, NTorq still retains its fun-to-ride character, and that alone more than makes up for recommending it as a performance-oriented scooter that scores right up there with the best available on sale right now.

TVS has launched their sporty scooter – the NTorq 125 Race Edition, in the Philippines. This is the first time the Hosur-based company has introduced a scooter in the Philippines market. The company has been selling the Dazz – a 110cc step-through, for many years, but it believes there's a market for the Ntorq in that country. Regarding motorcycles, TVS sells the RR310, RTR 200 4V, and the Max 4R in the Philippines.

TVS Motor Company has increased the prices of all variants (except for the new XT) of its 125cc sporty scooter, the Ntorq 125, in India this month. Fortunately, the price hike is marginal at Rs 1,461 and the detailed variant-wise ex-showroom prices of the Ntorq 125 are: Drum brake: Rs 77,106, Disc brake: Rs 81,561, Race Edition: Rs 85,161, Super Squad Edition: Rs 87,661, Race XP: Rs 89,211.

Thursday, 05 September 2024 06:25 PM TVS Ntorq 125, launched in 2018, remains one of the most powerful 125cc scooters in India. The recent update includes new colour options but retains the same powerful 124.8cc, three-valve engine producing 9.5 PS and 10.6 Nm for the base model, and 10.2 PS and 10.9 Nm for the Race XP. I think this balance of power and new design elements will continue to make it a favorite among young riders.
Friday, 09 August 2024 03:14 PM The TVS Ntorq 125 range has seen no mechanical changes but has been updated with fresh colour schemes. The new colours include Turquoise, Harlequin Blue, Nardo Grey, and a matte black special edition for the Race XP. These updates aim to keep the scooters appeal strong in the market. I believe these new colours will help maintain the Ntorqs popularity among scooter enthusiasts.

Thursday, 08 August 2024 03:13 PM The TVS Ntorq 125 has been a pioneer in smart-connected technology, featuring Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and an engine kill switch since its launch. The latest variants continue to offer these features along with new colour options, making it a compelling choice for tech-savvy riders. TVS Ntorq 125 Review

Detailed Review by Maxabout Team

Overview

The TVS Ntorq 125 is the company's first upscale scooter product. It goes to great lengths to ensure that a Ntorq customer has the most bragging rights of all. It has a feature set that much exceeds that of its competitors, as well as a zippy powertrain and agile handling dynamics. When it comes to performance and styling, the new TVS Ntorq 125 is one of the most well-known names in the 125cc scooter market. Because of the aforementioned two qualities, it has become popular among young people. The BS6 version retained all the significant characteristics of the Ntorq 125 while adding fuel injection.

TVS Ntorq 125 Design and Style

The New TVS Ntorq 125 was introduced in India earlier this year. The Ntorq is the Indian manufacturer's first premium scooter product. The scooter takes design influences from TVS's Graphite concept, which debuted at the 2016 Auto Expo.

The Generation Z scooter has a signature 'T' rear lamp, a sporty stubby muffler, 12 inch Diamond cut alloy wheels, bold Chunky tyres, batwing styled daytime running lights, Roto Petal front disc brakes, a unique 3D Ntorq logo at the rear end, a sporty split grab rail, afterburner style rear vents, an aggressive front cluster, a split type rear fender, and the race edition includes a three-tone colour scheme inspired by discussion and signature LED headlamps as styling main points in a variety of colours. The top model Super Squad Edition features a higher level of style and colour variations inspired by Marvel's Avengers.

The style of the new TVS Ntorq 125 is reported to be influenced by stealth fighter aircraft. The Ntorq 125 scooter has sharp lines, an aggressive overall design, and a chiselled front apron. The back of the bike has a panel meant to look like a jet fighter's exhaust system, making it readily recognisable.

TVS Ntorq 125 Engine and Gearbox

2023 TVS Ntorq is powered by the same 124.8cc three-valve air-cooled BS6 single-cylinder mill that is now available in the fuel-injected form. The engine retains its performance despite fulfilling BS6 emission standards, delivering 9.25 HP and 10.5 Nm. Peak power arrives a little early, at 7000 rpm (500rpm lower than the BS4 motor). The TVS Ntorq 125 Race XP version, on the other hand, produces 10.2 HP and 10.8 Nm, which is 0.82 HP and 0.3 Nm more than the normal variant. The improved refinement of the motor is instantly obvious; whereas the previous motor sounded harsh, the revised fuel-injected mill now feels smooth even at higher speeds. It also has a ‘Race’ riding mode for improved acceleration and a reported top speed of 98 km/h. The Street riding mode is great for navigating congested routes while maximising mileage.

TVS Ntorq 125 Suspension, Brakes and Tyres

The Ntorq is constructed on an entirely new underbone chassis, and the new Ntorq 125 retains the front telescopic suspension with hydraulic dampers and the rear coil spring suspension with hydraulic dampers. While the TVS Jupiter has a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock, the more expensive 125cc Ntorq retains a non-adjustable unit. The front suspension is firmer, which helps the Ntorq handle better. The Ntorq's direction changes are rapid, and the larger TVS Remora tyres provide excellent grip and stability in turns. The TVS Ntorq 125 is outfitted with a 100/80-12 section front tyre and a bigger 110/80-12 section rear tyre. The scooter is built on a high stiffness underbone rectangular frame, and its braking power is provided by a 220mm front drum and a 130mm rear drum. The regular type is available in two brake settings, while the disc variant includes a front disc.

Instrument Console of TVS Ntorq 125

2023 TVS Ntorq 125 has some great technological features such as a Bluetooth-connected speedometer, a fully digital console with 60 features, a multi-mode display-street, sport, and ride stats, ride steps, best lap and last lap, personalised welcome messages, incoming call alert, incoming SMS alert, missed call alert, navigation assist, engine temperature indicator, phone signal strength, display phone battery strength, display auto-sync clock, last park location assist, trip report generator These features are associated with the scooter's SmartXonnect technology, which connects your smartphone to the scooter via a unique rider's app via Bluetooth.

Key Features of TVS Ntorq 125

The new TVS Ntorq 125 comes with a slew of segment-first innovations. To begin, it has a Bluetooth-enabled completely digital instrument cluster that displays turn-by-turn navigation, calls, a speedometer, a tachometer, and an odometer, to mention a few features. The Ntorq was the first automatic scooter with a kill switch. The Ntorq's headlamp is halogen, while the tail lamp is LED. It also has a Parking Brake, a large 22-litre under-seat storage compartment, large wheels, an in-built lap timer, an in-built 0-60 recorder, 3 trip gauges, telescopic suspension, a multi-mode display, and a power/eco ride mode indicator. Electric Start, Pillion Footrest, Pillion Grab rail, Engine Kill Switch, Mobile Charging Socket, and more comfort amenities are included.

Top Speed and Mileage of TVS Ntorq 125

TVS Ntorq125 review

Indian scooter market is maturing at last. Aprilia SR150 is already there and Honda PCX and Yamaha NMax are coming. And Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is also there. Hats off to the "desi" company that has launched Ntorq 125. Totally different in attitude from the existing competitors, it's for pure, bike-like performance with the advantage of carrying your laptop bag between your feet. Ride at a steady 90 km/h on a highway, overtake anything on a city road, take a turn or aggressively cross a pothole, the scooter will do whatever you want it to do. The only competition is SR 150, and when I compare the sibling of Vespa with that of Victor, that tells volumes about the quality of the product. Performance-wise, actually this one is the sibling of Apache RTR 160 4V, not of Victor. And I must mention that ride quality is far better on Ntorq than on SR 150. If you at 51 years like me want something very comfortable yet peppy, go for Burgman Street 125 (very close is Suzuki's Access 125 with very plain looks). But if you add an Aprilia SR150 to a Burgman Street 125 and divide the result by 2, what you will get is a Ntorq 125 for your 19 years old offspring. Well, I own a Ntorq apart from some others. Yes, I own it at a ripe 51 years.

Best Features: I don't think Bluetooth connected digital console is the best feature. Best thing is very peppy engine, effective suspension, 12 inch wheels, f & r. Wider tubeless tyres. Under seat light+USB port.

Pros: Built for unadulterated performance. Challenge any 125/150 cc bike on the city road. Commendable performance on bad roads. Only Aprilia scooters, particularly SR 150, is comparable and vice versa.

Cons: Mileage not bad if you consider performance. But relatively lower mileage (45kmpl) is a trade off for performance. Once again compare SR 150 in this matter.

Best 125cc Scooter

I bought metallic blue colour, which contains many dust particle in it brand new plastic paint body. It seems they haven't used the paint booth. Headlight illumination is good but, AC electrical disrupts the benefits of it. Mileage is a concern for this scooter and it may get improved after servicing. Performance, stability and handling is very good but, I'm missing low end punch. Bluetooth connectivity is a bonus for this machine.

Best Features: Full Digital Cluster Meter, Engine Kill Switch, DRL, Parking Brake

Pros: Performance, Stability, Pick-up, Headlight illumination

Cons: Mileage, Paint Quality
