USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The TVS NTorq Race Edition is a significant improvement over its predecessors, particularly in terms of performance and features. With the latest updates, TVS has managed to restore the scooters fun factor, making it one of the quickest and most powerful 125cc scooters in India. The improved gas flow dynamics and combustion enhancements have resulted in a more responsive and zippy ride, especially in Race mode. The addition of voice assist through Bluetooth connectivity adds a layer of convenience and modernity. However, the suspension can feel stiff for lighter riders, and the lack of ABS might be a concern for some. Overall, its a great package for those seeking a blend of performance, features, and practicality, making it a strong contender in the 125cc scooter segment.
Price
The TVS NTorq Race Edition is priced competitively in the Indian market. With an ex-showroom price of around 84,000, it positions itself well against other scooters in its class. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other fees, the total comes to approximately 95,000 to 100,000, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing makes it about 4,000 more expensive than the standard Race Edition but significantly more affordable than some of its competitors like the Suzuki Burgman Street. Given the enhancements and features, the premium is well justified, offering good value for money.
TVS NTorq Race Edition on road price is Rs 1.03 lakh in Delhi, Rs 1.07 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 1.04 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 1.06 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest TVS dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.
Latest Updates
Thursday, 05 September 2024 08:45 AM The TVS Ntorq 125, especially the Race XP variant, continues to be a standout in the 125cc scooter segment with its powerful engine producing 10.2 PS and 10.9 Nm of torque. The new matte black special edition of the Race XP adds to its sporty appeal, making it a favorite among performance seekers. The scooter also features advanced technology like Bluetooth connectivity, a fully digital display, and dual ride modes. I think the combination of power and technology makes the Ntorq Race XP a compelling choice for enthusiasts.
Friday, 09 August 2024 01:09 PM The TVS Ntorq 125 and Ntorq Race XP have been updated with new colour options, including Turquoise, Harlequin Blue, and Nardo Grey for the standard Ntorq 125, and a matte black special edition for the Race XP. These new colours reflect the trend towards minimalist and modern designs. The scooters retain their powerful 124.8 cc three-valve engine and features like Bluetooth connectivity and dual ride modes. I think these new colours will definitely appeal to the younger generation looking for stylish and performance-oriented scooters.
Thursday, 08 August 2024 05:51 PM TVS Motor Company has introduced fresh colour options for the Ntorq 125 and Race XP series, targeting diverse consumer preferences. The Ntorq 125 now comes in Turquoise, Harlequin Blue, and Nardo Grey, while the Race XP features a matte black special edition with a mix of matte and glossy piano black textures. The scooters are priced starting at Rs 86,871 for the Ntorq 125 and Rs 97,501 for the Race XP. I believe these updates will help TVS maintain its competitive edge in the scooter market.
Thursday, 08 August 2024 12:31 PM TVS Motor Companys Senior Vice President, Marketing - Scooters, Commuter Motorcycles & Corporate Brand, Aniruddha Haldar, stated that the new colour variants of the Ntorq 125 and Race XP are part of their effort to provide a platform for self-expression to their customers. The new colours and special editions are designed to combine excitement with self-expression, catering to the growing demand for modern and minimalist designs. I believe this approach will resonate well with the younger demographic.
Thursday, 08 August 2024 04:26 PM The TVS Ntorq 125 and Race XP scooters have seen no changes in their engine specifications, retaining the 124.8 cc three-valve engine that has been the most powerful in its class since its launch. The scooters also continue to feature advanced amenities like LED headlamps, front petal disc brakes, and fully digital instrument consoles with Bluetooth connectivity. I think the consistency in performance and features will keep these scooters popular among buyers.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 04:26 PM The mileage of the TVS NTorq Race Edition is a mixed bag, reflecting its performance-oriented nature. While it is not the most fuel-efficient scooter in its segment, it still manages to deliver reasonable mileage. In my tests, the scooter returned around 35-40 kmpl in city riding conditions, which is acceptable given its powerful engine and sporty tuning. For those who prioritize performance over fuel efficiency, this mileage should not be a major concern. However, for daily commuters who are more mileage-conscious, it might be worth considering the trade-offs. The scooters eco mode helps in improving fuel efficiency, but its hard to resist the temptation of the Race mode, which naturally affects the overall mileage. Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges.

TVS Ntorq125 review

Indian scooter market is maturing at last. Aprilia SR150 is already there and Honda PCX and Yamaha NMax are coming. And Suzuki Burgman Street 125 is also there. Hats off to the "desi" company that has launched Ntorq 125. Totally different in attitude from the existing competitors, it's for pure, bike-like performance with the advantage of carrying your laptop bag between your feet. Ride at a steady 90 km/h on a highway, overtake anything on a city road, take a turn or aggressively cross a pothole, the scooter will do whatever you want it to do. The only competition is SR 150, and when I compare the sibling of Vespa with that of Victor, that tells volumes about the quality of the product. Performance-wise, actually this one is the sibling of Apache RTR 160 4V, not of Victor. And I must mention that ride quality is far better on Ntorq than on SR 150. If you at 51 years like me want something very comfortable yet peppy, go for Burgman Street 125 (very close is Suzuki's Access 125 with very plain looks). But if you add an Aprilia SR150 to a Burgman Street 125 and divide the result by 2, what you will get is a Ntorq 125 for your 19 years old offspring. Well, I own a Ntorq apart from some others. Yes, I own it at a ripe 51 years.

Best Features: I don't think Bluetooth connected digital console is the best feature. Best thing is very peppy engine, effective suspension, 12 inch wheels, f & r. Wider tubeless tyres. Under seat light+USB port.

Pros: Built for unadulterated performance. Challenge any 125/150 cc bike on the city road. Commendable performance on bad roads. Only Aprilia scooters, particularly SR 150, is comparable and vice versa.

Cons: Mileage not bad if you consider performance. But relatively lower mileage (45kmpl) is a trade off for performance. Once again compare SR 150 in this matter.

Best 125cc Scooter

I bought metallic blue colour, which contains many dust particle in it brand new plastic paint body. It seems they haven't used the paint booth. Headlight illumination is good but, AC electrical disrupts the benefits of it. Mileage is a concern for this scooter and it may get improved after servicing. Performance, stability and handling is very good but, I'm missing low end punch. Bluetooth connectivity is a bonus for this machine.

Best Features: Full Digital Cluster Meter, Engine Kill Switch, DRL, Parking Brake

Pros: Performance, Stability, Pick-up, Headlight illumination

Cons: Mileage, Paint Quality
