Suzuki Burgman Street 125 Review

Suzuki Burgman 125 Street has been officially unveiled at Auto Expo 2018. As most fans were thinking that Suzuki will launch this model at India’s biggest expo, they simply kept the pricing a secret for next few months. The scooter uses an all-new design that was never witnessed on an Indian Suzuki scooter before. The handlebar area gets a scooter specific cover while headlight rests right between the fender and lower body section of Burgman 125 Street. Suzuki Burgman is popular power scooter moniker globally but Indian market is more focused towards lightweight options with fuel-efficient engines and east to ride dynamics.

Suzuki is expected to share components of Burgman Street with other existing scooters. The most expected sharing will be in the form of its engine, directly shared with none other than Access 125 for ease of testing and class-leading performance. The 125cc, single cylinder air cooled motor is good for 8.58 BHP at 7000 rpm and 10.2 Nm at 5000 rpm. The engine comes mated to an automatic gearbox. Front disc brake and tyre will also stay same as Access 125. It seems like Suzuki will mount these huge parts over the same frame that is in use under Access 125 as suspension components will also stay similar in both cases.

Suzuki Burgman 125 Street is expected to get priced around INR 65,000. If launched in multiple variants, the pricing could go slightly low due to cost-cutting features like drum brakes and steel wheels in place of the disc brake and alloy wheels. The all-digital console on Burgman Street will help buyers get better readability and interesting set of features. Rivals in this segment are TVS NTorq 125 and Honda Grazia, both carrying 125cc engine and impressive list of segment-leading features like navigation support and tubeless tyres.
