However, since the Bandit 1250S was not officially sold in India, we can only estimate based on its global pricing. Historically, the bike was priced around 7,555 in the UK, which translates to approximately 7.5 lakh to 8 lakh depending on the exchange rate. Suzuki Bandit 1250s Review

30 Dec, 2021 12:25 PM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Suzuki Bandit 1250s is one of the rarest semi fairing sports bikes available in India. Bandit series has been quite famous worldwide; will this bike be able to mark its presence in India? Let’s find out.

Design and Style

Suzuki has designed it to stand between the category of full fairing bikes and naked machines. They have made sure that everything on this bike makes it look proportionate. The front of the bike features a full size V-shaped headlight which houses in its edgy front fairing. Its clear lens indicators are also integrated in this front fairing. The black colored rear view mirrors are mounted on its aerodynamic transparent visor which makes this bike looks extremely stylish. Suzuki has used a very short front fender in this bike which along with its front forks adds visual bulk to this bike. This semi fairing integrates neatly into its up-raised fuel tank. This fuel tank is very simple but features noticeable lines on it. Its up-swept rear cowl and chunky muffler looks very sporty with its split seat. It has a black colored rear grab rail which looks stylish with its LED tail light. Suzuki Bandit 1250s looks macho at the back thanks to its wide rear tyre and fender.

Instrument Console

Suzuki Bandit 1250s has a very basic instrument console which features twin circular dials surrounded by chrome rings. The left dial houses an-analogue tachometer while the right dial features a LCD and other essential LED indicators. You will also notice the name of this bike on the top of its right dial. The LCD displays its digital speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge and trip meter.

Engine and Gearbox

Suzuki Bandit 1250s comes with a 4-stroke, 4-cylinder 1255cc engine. The peak power production of this Liquid cooled engine is of 98.4 Bhp @ 7900 rpm. This 16valve, DOHC engine generates a torque output of 94.09 NM @ 6900 rpm which starts coming as early as 3750rpm. This engine is served with a six-speed manual gearbox. This gearbox has a gear shift pattern of one gear down and five gears up.

Acceleration and Performance

Suzuki Bandit 1250s does some serious business in this department. The early torque availability is the most interesting thing about this engine. The bike follows your every command from the very first move and as a result of which the bike reaches 100km/hr from standstill in less than 4seconds. The low and mid-range of this bike is very powerful and that helps it to be an enthusiast. The gear ratios are not that short either as there is ample amount of torque in this bike. The six-speed gearbox confirms you an instant throttle response which takes you from 50km/hr to 150km/hr within no time. This DOHC engines sounds really refined and shows no signs of vibrations even at the speed of 200km/hr. The high speed riding improves with its sixth gear which also helps while overtaking. The gear transitions are very smooth and needs less gear shifts at slow speed. If you aim to push this bike hard then get ready to go pass the speed of 240km/hr without any hesitation.

Mileage

The fuel efficiency of Suzuki Bandit 1250s ranges from 12-15km/ltr in real conditions.

Comfort while Driving

Suzuki Bandit 1250s comes with a unique feature of height adjustable seat which makes sure that everyone gets comfortable on this bike. This split seat has good fabric quality and feels very comfortable. The pillion rider can also firmly hold the rear grab rail. It offers a sporty riding posture which features rear set-foot-pegs which folds your knees at right angle. The space around its fuel tank also firms you grip on this bike. You don’t have to bend forward to reach its vibration free handle bar. The elbows stay in a relaxed position and you get a clear vision ahead.

Storage Space and Safety Features

Suzuki Bandit 1250s features no storage space but comes with essential safety features like powerful headlight and front brake calliper.

Suspension and Brakes

Suzuki Bandit 1250s has pre-load adjustable telescopic forks at its front while it comes equipped with link type, oil damped suspension at the back. The braking system consist twin hydraulic disc brakes of 310mm at its front and single hydraulic disc brake of 240mm at the back.

Ride and Handling

The bike feels feather light at high speeds similar to other Suzuki bikes but at slow speeds and curves, you can feel its actual weight. It has a wheelbase of 1485mm which restricts its turning abilities. The bike weighs around 254 kgs and you will need time to settle on it. Handling is bit stiffer at sharp corners but its stays under control thanks to its broad tyres and capable suspension system. The braking abilities are also quite impressive and most of the times you will manage to stop it precisely. With a ground clearance of 135mm, the bike stays grounded at high speeds. The bike is less responsive than its other siblings in this department and Suzuki could have used another frame for this bike.

Tyre Size, Shades and Variants

Its front (120/70) and rear tyre (180/55) comes fitted in 17 inch alloy wheels. Suzuki offers this bike in black and white color.

Verdict

Suzuki has priced Suzuki Bandit 1250s at INR 10.25lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi (approx., may vary)). This bike is expensive than most of the naked bikes but its priced well below other full fairing bikes. It has a very responsive and powerful engine which is extremely refined and makes it one of the fastest bikes in India. The ride and handling of this bike is also satisfactory but its subjective looks may not work in the favour of this bike. When seen from certain angles, the bike resembles a lot to our Indian semi fairing bikes like Hero Karizma R and Bajaj Pulsar220. It can be easily mistaken on our Indian roads and you may feel underprivileged. Apart from this, there are no major concerns and it’s a nice option for those Suzuki fans which can’t afford their full size sports bikes but want similar performance oriented bike.

Four cylinders, over 220 kph, fantastic range in top gear starting from 40kph, great for cruising as well as racing -- it is a steal at the price . Half of it goes to the government as duties, cant blame suzuk for that! And yeah, ABS, too.
