MV Agusta F3 675 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
An acclaimed racing bike, F3 from MV Agusta may soon be seen on our Indian roads. This bike will be directly imported and will fight against premium sports bikes in India. Let’s check out the new version of this bike in detail.
Exterior
The style and design of MV Agusta F3 instantly holds your attention and forces you to gaze it. The diamond shaped headlight at its front gives it a unique identity and looks extremely catchy when seen from a distance. The aerodynamic design of its front fairing and V-shaped visor also looks catchy and appealing. The cowl sports noticeable lines on it which complements the black colored rear view mirrors which comes with integrated LED indicators. These mirrors are mounted on this big V-shaped front fairing. The short front fender sits just below the headlight of this bike and gels well with the forks at its front. The black colored multi-spoke alloy wheels also add visual charm to this bike. Its sporty side fairing with an integrated engine cowl gives the visual bulk to this bike which complements the up-raised fuel tank of F3. The three golden finished silencers are placed just below the rider’s foot peg. The bike has an up-swept, integrated side and rear cowl which also looks aerodynamic with split seat on it. The huge gap between its rear tyre and tall positioned cowl gives it a naked appearance. The rear cowl also houses the stylish LED tail light while its wide tyre adds muscularity to this bike. The rear cowl also gives way to a pointed fender which carries the number plate and side indicators of this bike.
Instrument Console
The bike has fully digital instrument panel. You will notice a big orange colored LCD in this bike which displays its digital tachometer, speedometer, odometer, trip meter, clock, lap-timer and fuel gauge. Other LED indicators like gear position indicator, fuel and temperature indicators are also evident in this instrument panel.
Engine and Gearbox
The bike is powered by a three cylinder, 4-stroke 675cc engine. This DOHC engine produces a peak power of 126 bhp at 14400 rpm. The torque output of this 12 valve engine is of 71 Nm which arrives at 10600 rpm. This engine is served with a six-speed manual gearbox with one gear down and five gears up-shift pattern.
Acceleration and Performance
The bike only weighs around 173kgs which helps this bike to get the best power to weight ratio in its class. The dual valve throttle body also gives it lightning fast throttle reaction which is quite visible form its very first move. It does 0-100km/hr in less than 3.5 seconds and shows high level of refinement. This DOHC engine proves to be a really refined engine which has no signs of vibration and noise at high rpms. The taller gear ratios of this six- speed gearbox also effectively distribute the power of this engine. The company claims this bike to reach the top speed of 260km/hr. The bike gets in to serious power production as soon as its torque tapers off. The bike feels incredibly powerful after 8000rpm and its high engine rev limit of 15000rpm makes this bike even powerful than 1.0L engines. The MVICS system allows the rider to choose from 4 different maps which uses the power of this engine in different ways. The launch control and anti-wheeling feature further enhances the performance of this bike.
Mileage
The bike may return you an overall fuel efficiency of around 10km/ltr.
Comfort while Driving
The bike has a split seat for the rider which feels well-padded and gives you optimum comfort. The foot-pegs for the rider are placed just below the seat which not only gives you a comfortable riding posture but also improves the aerodynamics of this bike. The rider has to bend forward to reach its clips on handlebar which gives you firm palm grip. The edgy fuel tank also gives space to your knees to stick firmly around it. The setting controls are placed on the left clip which can be easily used by the rider. The rider also gets clear visibility of roads and instrument console.
Storage Space and Safety Features
These bikes are not meant for storage space. Yes, its powerful headlight offers you bright vision of roads at night which confirms your safety.
Suspension and Brakes
F3 features Marzocchi fully adjustable telescopic forks of 43mm at its front and Sachs single mono shock absorber with swing arm at the back with a wheel travel of 123mm. This racing bike is equipped with disc brakes on its both wheels and it features 4-psiton callipers at its front and 2-piston calliper at the back. It has dual front disc brakes of 320mm and a single rear disc brake of 220mm.
Ride and Handling
The light aluminium frame gives exceptional stability to this bike. The low ground clearance of 125mm enables this bike to catch up pace quickly than other bikes. Its wheelbase of 1380mm also brings stability to this light machine while its adjustable suspension system gives you optimum comfort in every riding mode. The disc brakes of F3 gives you complete sense of control over this bike and boost your confidence at high speeds. The fatty tyres also provide firm road grip to this bike and improves its stability around sharp corners. The anti-wheelie and 8-way adjustable traction control system of this bike significantly improves the ride quality of F3. The electronic steering gives you positive feedback and makes it nimble and responsive in city traffic.
Tyre Size, Shades and Variants
The bike has 17 inches alloy wheels. Shades and variants of F3 are yet to be disclosed.
Verdict
It is one of the fastest racing bikes available worldwide. Its features, ride and handling makes it a complete value for money bike. The bike may cost you around INR 15lakhs in India. Such bikes are only for few lucky speed lovers in India who can pay this much to enjoy high speed performance.
