Summary Honda CBR600RR is a middleweight super sport racer that may not get a launch event in India in the coming years. This is because of the taxes on fully imported products that would place the bike somewhere around the 1000 cc bikes from certain manufacturers. It is powered by a 599 cc, inline 4 engine producing 118 BHP at 13500 rpm and 66 Nm at 11250 rpm. The gearbox here is a 6-speed manual unit while the bike weighs quite high at 196 kg. It claims a top speed of 252 kmph and rivals Suzuki GSX-R600, Yamaha YZF-R6 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R.

Honda is a giant name in automobile manufacturing in whole world and also in India. Its motorbikes are also equally popular with spectacular design and advanced innovations. Recently, Honda launched the newest edition of Honda CBR600RR in European market and it is seen as the best 600-class sport bike of world. It is a true companion on both on and off roads and provides a perfect balance of accurate handling, compact overall size, high-revving power and light weight.


The all new Honda CBR600RR has Line-beam headlights which features two-piece reflector design utilizing two bulbs for optimum light distribution and unique compact design along with the headlight lens shape is perfectly functional in directing air into the Ram Air System, nose mounted Dual-stage Ram Air to provide maximum amount of cool air to the Air-box, for linear power delivery and for superb engine performance, Honda electronic steering damper, 18 litres fuel tank located in center of the chassis and low in the frame for better balancing, 17-inch 12-spoke new aluminium cast wheels and a new and compact LED tail light above the exhaust for better styling. It has a wheelbase of 1369mm, trail of 97.7mm and a seat height of 820mm. It has 135mm ground clearance and a curb weight of 186kgs. It has a digital fuel gauge, self-start, analogue tachometer, 3 digital trip-meters, digital speedometer, a pass light, passenger footrests and low-oil, low-fuel, low-battery and high-oil temperature indicators.

Engine and Transmission

Honda CBR600RR has a 599cc, Liquid-cooled In-line 4-cylinder, 16-valve, DOHC, Dual-stage Fuel Injection with 40mm throttle bodies and Denso 12-hole injectors, computer-controlled ignition and digital transistorized with 3-D mapping, engine with a bore and stroke of 67mm and 42.5mm respectively. It provides a maximum power of 118 Bhp @ 13500 rpm and a maximum torque of 66 Nm @ 11210 rpm and has a close ratio six speed transmission.

Brakes and Suspension

Honda CBR600RR has dual radial-mounted four-piston callipers with 310mm disk brakes at front wheels and single 220mm disk brakes at rear wheels. The front suspension system includes 41mm inverted Big Piston Fork with spring preload, rebound and compression damping adjustability with some inches travel while the rear suspension includes unit Pro-Link HMAS single shock with spring preload, rebound and compression damping adjustability with 5.1inches travel. It also has a special feature of electronically controlled combined ABS which can distribute force over both or any of the wheels during emergency braking situations.

Variants and Shades

Honda CBR600RR has two more variants to offer apart from this, which are Honda CBR600RR ABS and Honda CBR600RR Repsol Edition. It has 3 shades to choose from which includes Red, a combination of White, Blue and Red and a sporty Repsol Edition.
