Mahindra Gusto 110 VX

About
The Mahindra Gusto 110 VX is a scooter that was positioned in the important 110cc segment in India. It is powered by a 109.6 cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine that produces 8 bhp at 7500 rpm and 9 Nm of torque at 5500 rpm. One of its standout features is the height-adjustable seat, making it suitable for riders of different heights. The scooter also comes with a storage compartment near the speedometer, which is convenient for storing small items like a mobile phone. USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Mahindra Gusto 110 VX, although discontinued, had its share of both praise and criticism during its time in the market. On the positive side, it was lauded for its unique height-adjustable seat, which made it accessible to riders of various heights, and its storage facility near the speedometer, which added a touch of convenience. The scooter also offered a smooth ride quality, especially on rough roads, thanks to its 12-inch tubeless tyres. However, it faced significant criticism for its poor mileage, chronic engine issues, and inadequate after-sales service. The overall experience was marred by these drawbacks, making it a less desirable option for many buyers.
Price
The Mahindra Gusto 110 VX was priced at around Rs 53,030 ex-showroom before it was discontinued. When considering the on-road price, which includes additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, the total would have been slightly higher, typically ranging between Rs 60,000 to Rs 65,000 depending on the state and local regulations. Given its features and performance, the pricing was competitive within the 110cc scooter segment, but the value proposition was weakened by the scooters reliability and service issues.
Latest Updates
Sunday, 15 March 2020 03:36 AM The Mahindra Gusto 110 VX, known for its unique features like a height-adjustable seat and guide lamp, has been discontinued in the Indian market since March 2020. This move was part of Mahindras strategy to focus on other models. I think this decision might have been due to the increasing competition in the scooter segment.
Thursday, 20 February 2020 08:46 AM Before its discontinuation, the Mahindra Gusto 110 VX was priced at Rs 55,660 for the CBS variant in Delhi. This price included a premium over the non-CBS model, reflecting the added safety feature. The CBS (Combined Braking System) was a significant update to enhance safety.
Friday, 10 January 2020 04:32 PM Mahindra introduced the Gusto 110 VX with several innovative features, including a remote flip key with an LED panel, find-me lamps, and a generous under-seat storage compartment. These features were aimed at enhancing user convenience and safety. I believe these features were ahead of their time in the scooter segment.
Sunday, 15 December 2019 06:12 PM The Mahindra Gusto 110 VX boasted a 109.6cc air-cooled engine, producing 8bhp at 7,500rpm and 9Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. This engine was coupled with a CVT transmission system, ensuring smooth power delivery and minimal NVH levels. The claimed mileage was an impressive 63.7 kmpl.
Wednesday, 20 November 2019 12:48 AM The scooter featured a unique design with large 12-inch wheels, which were the biggest in its class at the time. It also had telescopic front forks and hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear, providing a comfortable ride. The ground clearance was 165mm, and the wheelbase was 1275mm.
Friday, 25 October 2019 06:55 AM Mahindra launched the Gusto 110 VX in several color options, including red, white, black, magenta, silver, and two matte paint schemes – Crimson Matt Red and Pacific Matt Blue. This variety catered to different consumer preferences. I think the color options were quite appealing and added to the scooters appeal.

Additionally, it had retractable hooks for quick storage and access. I believe these practical features made it a favorite among commuters.
Saturday, 20 July 2019 12:45 AM Mahindra emphasized the Gusto 110 VXs future-ready technology, including the M-TEC engine and other innovative features. The company highlighted the scooters ability to meet future regulatory requirements and consumer expectations. This approach was part of Mahindras strategy to stay competitive in the market.
Monday, 10 June 2019 01:29 PM The Mahindra Gusto 110 VX was well-received for its smooth power delivery and minimal noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels. This made it a comfortable choice for daily commutes. I think the focus on NVH levels was a smart move by Mahindra to enhance the riding experience.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 07:58 AM The mileage of the Mahindra Gusto 110 VX is a significant concern for potential buyers. Reports indicate that the scooter delivers a mileage of around 45-50 kmpl under optimal conditions, but some users have experienced much lower figures, as low as 25-30 kmpl. This variability makes it challenging to predict running costs accurately. If mileage is a top priority, this scooter might not be the best choice due to its inconsistent fuel efficiency.

Worst Bike I Have Mahindra Gusto

More at service station than home, spent lot of money on repairs, fed up with bike, just 5 years old. Waste of money, please don't buy it, even second hand if you are getting for throw away price, Mahindra is ok in 4 wheeler sector not in two wheelers.

Best Features: Nothing is best in Mahindra Gusto

Pros: Nothing is good

Cons: Worst Bike

Mahindra Gusto 125

Ever since I have purchased this piece of shit, I regret my decision of buying this. Mileage is pathetic it is as low as a small car ~ 25-30 km. Per litre. Engine performance is below par, repetitive trouble making the engine. In just 3 years, the mechanic has told me to get the Cylinder Block & Piston changed. Apart from cost issues, the bigger issue is unavailability of parts and dedicated service centres even in metros. No mechanic I have come across consoling me for my decision of buying this filthy piece of shit but laughed at me for this senseless decision as if its poor performance is a universal truth... Mahindra,s should not have forayed in TW segment at the cost of public money. I am sorry to say but now I have little respect for Brand Mahindra.

Best Features: Nothing to mention apart from Height Adjustable feature

Pros: Height Adjustable

Cons: Worst Mileage ~30, Worst after Sales Service, Limited Dealer Network, Poor engine performance, Chronic engine issues from starting, In short total waste of Money

A Good Product From Mahindra's Kitty

The overall experience of driving this scooter is good. It is the first scooter in India that comes with a unique height-adjustable seat. Since I am a little shorter, I have always had a problem riding these vehicles, but Gusto has solved that problem for me. On rough roads, the ride quality is nice so no need to worry about potholes. 12 inches tubeless tyres offer you good handling. The engine is well balanced and I have used this scooter in crowded areas and I get average of 45 to 48 kmpl. It is quite light weight so it is easy to handle. It has 130mm drum brakes which offer adequate performance but not the best feel. The price is also reasonable which can easily fit to middle class person. It comes loaded with an innovative pocket-like storage facility just under the display panel. It's thoughtfully designed and as the name suggests, it has a quick and easy access. The looks are also impressive and can easily allure anyone's attention.

Best Features: Good handling

Pros: Good handling, good value for money, comfortable pillion seat, light weight

Cons: No drawbacks

One of the best scooter with many features

I am using Mahindra Gusto from last few months. I can proudly say this is the scooter for every height person. It comes with seat height adjustment feature which I never seen in any other scooter. Looks are amazing, it is neither too big nor too small. I like its styling and comfort of course. My sister who is 5 feet, she drive it confidently after setting seat height. One more impressive feature it got is storage near the speedometer. It is very convenient for mobile, as I never missed a call while driving now. Ride quality is good on rough roads. Its tyres offer good grip and most importantly, I am getting 50 kmpl average after first service. On the other side, its seat height adjustment somehow make the storage capacity less in some cases. And many of my friends also doubt its build quality. Though I have no idea about it yet.

Best Features: Seat Height Adjustment

Pros: Looks, price, Mileage, Comfort, Storage space

Cons: Nothing
