USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyosung Aquila 250 is a compelling option for those looking for a cruiser motorcycle in the Indian market. While it may not be perfect, it checks all the right boxes for cruiser enthusiasts. The bikes design is stunning, with a timeless cruiser styling that includes a low-set saddle, a large tank, and ample chrome accents, making it a head-turner on the roads. The V-twin engine, though not exceptionally powerful, delivers adequate performance for cruising at speeds of 90-100 kmph, and the five-speed manual gearbox offers smooth gearshifts. However, the engines fuelling can be a bit snatchy, and vibrations are noticeable past 7000 RPM. The ride quality, while manageable, could be better, especially at higher speeds. Despite these flaws, the Aquila 250 is well put-together, easy to ride, and offers a unique blend of style and performance that sets it apart from other bikes in its segment.
Price
In India, the Hyosung Aquila 250 is priced competitively, making it an attractive option for those seeking a cruiser motorcycle. The ex-showroom price for the Aquila 250 is around Rs. 3.10 lakhs, which is reasonable considering its features and build quality. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to around Rs. 3.5 lakhs to Rs. 3.7 lakhs, depending on the state and local taxes. Given its unique styling, decent performance, and the premium feel it offers, the Aquila 250 is worth the investment for those who value the cruiser experience without breaking the bank.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 01:55 PM The mileage of the Hyosung Aquila 250 is quite respectable, especially considering its cruiser nature. It can deliver around 60-70 mpg on the highway and slightly lower in city conditions. This is impressive, given its 4-gallon tank capacity, allowing for decent range between fill-ups. However, mileage can vary based on riding style and conditions, but overall, it offers a good balance between performance and fuel efficiency, making it a practical choice for daily commuting and long rides.

30 May, 2016 08:04 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Hyosung is one of the leading and popular Korean motorcycle manufacturers, since 1978. The company has launched the GV250 Aquila at the 2014 Auto Expo in Delhi. Let’s try to know what to expect from this Korean cruiser.

Design and Style

The Hyosung GV250 Aquila has got certain remarkable updates. This macho, hefty Aquila motorcycle turns heads wherever it goes. The front features a chrome finished halogen headlight which provides a good visibility at night, with a pair of gills sitting on either side under the headlamp posing as air ducts. The mirrors, grips and switchgear, present on the handlebar gives it an adequate feeling. The chunky fuel tank bearing the logos of EFI enhances the macho profile of this cruiser. The low, split seats with a red border imparts a royal and rich look to the motorcycle. A retro style taillight with clear lens indicators is equipped at the front as well as rear. A much nicer single and oversized chrome collector exhaust goes well with the cruiser look. The large, chunky alloy wheels enhance the side profile of this retro styling motorcycle.

Dimensions and Fuel Tank Capacity

The GV250 Aquila comes with a length of 2282 mm, width of 875 mm and a height of 1096 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 179 Kg. The cruiser has a fuel tank capacity of 14-litres.

Instrument Console

This amazing cruiser features chrome fitted, analogue instrument console that includes a digital speedometer, digital fuel gauge, digital dual trip-meters and an analogue tachometer. It also bears indicators for low fuel and low oil.

Engine and Gearbox

The GV250 Aquila is powered by a 249cc, 4-stroke, 8 valve, 2 cylinders, air cooled, DOHC engine which generates a peak power of 26.21 bhp at 9500 rpm with utmost torque of 21.37 Nm at 7000 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed constant mesh transmission which works in a 1-up and 4-down pattern. It can reach a top speed of 120.2 kmph.

Mileage

When tested under standard conditions, the bike delivers a mileage of 33.2 kmpl on highways and returns to 28.7 kmpl in the city. Overall, it offers an average figure of 29.8 kmpl.

Brakes and Suspension

The GV250 Aquila is fitted with hydraulic disc brakes at the front and drum brakes at the rear which are quite strong and effective. The suspension duties are handled by inverted forks at the front and hydraulic shock absorbers with steel swing arms are placed at the back.

Ride and Handling

The motorcycle offers you a comfortable and pleasant ride. The low seating manages the taller as well as shorter heights well. At the front, it has a tyre size of 110/90-16 59S and a 150/80-15M/C mm is given at the rear end. The bike has an extended wheelbase of 1515 mm and a ground clearance of 155 mm.

Shades

This cruiser is available in three striking colors: Red/Black, Grey/Black and a Black.

As a Super Bike , there is no super service and if you compare with other bike like Hero has give very affordable service. After warming up engine or after 25-50 km with 75% throttle , if engine will stop ,then restart never can smoothly. I always face with 1st gear. I also complained with my 1st service at BBSR , but no one find out..may be good service engineer not available at BBSr...Very Bad service ...I requesting plz DSK look after that matter on priority basis

Best Features: Looks & mileage

Pros: I owned that bike on 03-03-2016 from BBSR, with lots of excitement...Vehicle looks is ok and mileage is very good if you compare with other.

It has been almost a decade when the Hyosung Aquila 250 was introduced in India. It's first version was launched in 2003. I am riding this bike from last one year. It is an amazing bike with real cruiser feel. It has front disc brakes but, on the rear side it lacks disc brakes which is little disappointing. Apart from that it gives good performance as its engine is very powerful. At low speeds Aquila returns 33.2kmpl on the highway and 28.7kmpl in the city giving it an overall figure of 29.8kmpl – a fair figure for a 250cc twin. It has limited service outlets so, I face problem while going for service sessions.

Best Features: Powerful engine and smooth running

Pros: Classic Looks, Strong build quality, Comfortable

Cons: Lack of 6 speed Transmission, Absence of Rear Disc Brake, Limited service network

Most Powerful Cruiser

I loved to ride cruiser bikes. I was looking for a bike which was amazing in style, looks, design, performance etc. simply called a perfect combination of all modern features. When I got Hyosung GV650 Aquila Pro a year back, I was on cloud nine. It is a great combination of classy robust look. Its engine is based on the Suzuki’s SV650 engine and achieved top speed of 195 kmph. A certain vibrations are felt in the higher rev. In terms of looks and style it will give you complete satisfaction for your buck. The Hyosung GV650 Aquilla Pro surprised me with its ability to move around the traffic in the busy traffic hours when roads are full of vehicles in a city like Mumbai Or Delhi. If I talking about sitting posture, rider needs to stretch their legs completely to reach the gear sifter and the rear back pedal. As I am 6 feet tall so, I really feel sitting home at this bike. Braking system is also very good. The 300 mm twin discs on the front side are hold with twin-piston calipers that are feel like as though they are four-piston units. The company has limited service outlets in India due to this I faced problems while go for servicing.

Best Features: Style and design

Pros: Powerful Engine, Value For Money, Comfort, Stylish

Cons: Vibrations, Lack of 6th Gear, Limited Sales and service outlets

I Simply Loved the Looks..

I have been riding Pulsar since I was 18 years old and still continue to do so at 27 years. But from the last one year Hyosung GV650 Aquila Pro became my new companion. Yeah, when I compare it with my Pulsar - it felt extremely awkward. The Aquila is very well designed machine that supports a good riding position and amazing style. Its look is the main factor which make it different from other cruisers. It allows me good stability and comfort at even 80 speed with no vibrations. But,I get small vibrations between 80-100 kmph. As I m living in Kolkata, I have to be patience in the terms of speed. I never crossed 110 yet. It delivers me 13km/h average on city roads which I don't bother much. Sorry, I forgot to mention that it is huge and heavy, thus handling requires good stamina. Overall, a good bike for fun ride. The only problem of this bike lies in ground clearance as its bottom hits speed breakers sometime.
