Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda PCX 160 is a promising addition to the Indian scooter market, especially in the premium maxi-scooter segment. With its powerful 156cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 15.8 PS of power and 15 Nm of torque, it stands out for its performance. The scooters design is sleek and modern, featuring a full LED lighting system, a digital instrument panel, and ample storage space. The ride quality is enhanced by a telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers, along with disc brakes at both ends and single-channel ABS, ensuring safety and stability. However, the delayed launch in India might affect its market reception, given the existing competition from models like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and Hero Xoom 160. Nonetheless, its global pedigree and Hondas reputation for build quality make it a strong contender.
Price
The expected ex-showroom price of the Honda PCX 160 in India is around 1.20 lakh. When considering on-road prices, this figure can rise to approximately 1.40 lakh to 1.50 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing positions the PCX 160 competitively against other premium scooters in the market. While it is on the higher side, the features and performance it offers justify the cost. For instance, the scooter comes with advanced features like a full LED system, digital instrument cluster, and significant storage capacity, which are typically found in higher-end vehicles. This makes the PCX 160 a worthwhile investment for those seeking a blend of style, performance, and practicality.

The mileage of the Honda PCX 160 is expected to be around 45-50 kmpl, which is reasonable given its 156cc engine and the performance it delivers. This mileage is slightly lower than some of its competitors due to the larger engine size, but it still offers a decent range thanks to its 8.1-litre fuel tank. Honda PCX 150 has been a very fine commuting machine as long as highway use is limited. It's comfortable, reliable, cheap to run, and offers a wonder attitude adjustment after a long day at the office that I just don't get from any car.
