Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda CBR650F ABS is a versatile and powerful motorcycle that excels in both performance and practicality. While it comes with a hefty price tag, the bikes unmatched quality, smooth performance, and advanced features like the Combi Brakes system with ABS make it a worthwhile investment. The engine, though vibey at certain RPMs, delivers scintillating performance, especially once it hits the higher rev range. The bikes ergonomics are well-suited for both city riding and long tours, making it an excellent choice for those who need a bike that can handle various riding conditions. However, the design, particularly the engine casing and instrumentation, could use some improvement. Overall, its a great option for those seeking a reliable, high-performance bike that can handle daily commuting and weekend getaways with ease.
Price
The Honda CBR650F ABS is priced around 7.5 lakhs ex-showroom in India, which can escalate to approximately 8.5 lakhs on-road, depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing places it in the premium segment of motorcycles, competing with other high-performance bikes. While it is on the higher side, the bikes superior build quality, advanced safety features, and robust performance justify the cost. For those who value reliability, performance, and the prestige of owning a Honda, the price is reasonable. However, for budget-conscious buyers, it might be a stretch.
Latest Updates
Tuesday, 23 July 2024 02:51 PM The 2024 Honda CBR650R, which is closely related to the CBR650F, has been updated with Hondas E-Clutch technology, making riding easier and less tiring. This feature eliminates the need to pull in the clutch lever during starts, gear changes, and stops. The bike also features new styling, LED lighting, and a TFT screen. I believe this technology will significantly enhance the riding experience, especially for beginners.
Thursday, 11 November 2021 08:30 PM Owners of the Honda CBR650F have noted several key aspects of the bike, including its premium build quality and the feel of the switches on the handles. However, some users have pointed out drawbacks such as limited fork travel, which can be problematic on rough roads, and the uncharacteristic vibrations at certain RPMs for a Honda bike. I believe these points highlight the need for careful maintenance and possibly some aftermarket upgrades.
Friday, 03 November 2017 09:33 PM In 2018, Honda released the CBR650F and CB650F, with the CBR650F being the faired version. The CBR650F comes with a 649cc liquid-cooled inline-four engine, 6-speed transmission, and ABS as standard. It is known for its smooth ride and adequate braking power from the Nissin four-piston brakes. I think the CBR650F is a great introduction to sportbike riding, offering a balance of performance and comfort.
Friday, 03 November 2017 04:45 PM The Honda CBR650F has been compared to other mid-size street bikes like the Yamaha FZ-07 and Kawasaki Ninja 650. It stands out with its comfortable ergonomics and handsome looks, making it a strong contender in its class. Despite being more expensive than some competitors, its performance and features justify the price. I think the CBR650F is a solid choice for those looking for a versatile sportbike.
Friday, 03 November 2017 10:33 PM In terms of market appeal, the Honda CBR650F, although a good machine, faces stiff competition from its naked counterpart, the CB650F. The CB650F has broader appeal due to its K.I.S.S formula of a good engine, chassis, and comfortable ergonomics. I believe the CB650F might attract more buyers due to its universal appeal and timeless design.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 03:11 PM The Honda CBR650F ABS offers a decent fuel efficiency, returning around 23-26 kmpl, even in city conditions. This mileage is commendable given the bikes 649cc engine and performance capabilities. For long highway rides, the 17-litre fuel tank provides a range of over 300 kilometres, making it a practical choice for touring. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient option, the balance between performance and mileage is well-managed, making it a viable choice for those concerned about running costs.

Honda CBR650F ABS Review

27 Dec, 2021 11:11 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

The fully faired sports bike with a 650 cc engine at its heart, the Honda CBR650F is one of the best offerings from the brand that was initially launched in 2015. Facing stiff competition in the market with the likes of Triumph Street Triple and Kawasaki Z800, the bike did manage to take the market up in the wind but to a limited level. Now the 2018 Honda CBR650F has been launched in compliant with the Euro 4 making it gather as many enthusiasts as its rivals.

Coming to the engine specifications, the Honda CBR650F is powered by a 648.72 cc, Liquid-cooled 4-stroke 16-valve DOHC inline-4 engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 85.28 BHP @ 11000 rpm and an utmost torque of 60.5 Nm @ 8500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission. The suspension duties for the bike are handled by  41mm Telescopic Forks at the front while it gets a Monoshock suspension with 7-stage spring preload adjustment at the rear. It gets a PGM-FI electronic fuel injection system for the engine.

The Honda CBR650F gets 2 x 320mm dual hydraulic disc brake with dual-piston callipers and sintered metal pads at the front and at the rear, it gets 1 x 240mm hydraulic disc brake with single-piston caliper and resin mould pads. The dual-channel ABS adds to the stability and control while braking on any terrain. The all-digital instrument console fairly compliments its urban and aggressive look. The build quality is exceptional with LED headlights and taillights looking dapper. The bike has a claimed top speed of 194 kmph and is known to cover 0-100 kmph in just a duration of 3.96 secs. The claimed mileage of the Honda CBR650F is 17.7 kmpl(combined). The good proportions of the body panels and the stunning shades have put the bike a “near perfect” sports bike category. It is available in the market in two color schemes- Matt GunPowder Black Metallic, and Millennium Red.
