Honda CBR150R DLX

About
The Honda CBR150R DLX is a sporty 150cc bike that inherits many traits from its larger sibling, the CBR250R. It features a 149.4cc liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve engine that produces 17.6 BHP at 10,500 RPM and 12.66 Nm of torque at 8,500 RPM. The engine is paired with a smooth 6-speed gearbox and benefits from Hondas Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) technology. The bike boasts a perimeter frame, which contributes to its excellent handling and stability, even at high speeds. The riding position is sporty yet comfortable, with handlebars that are not too aggressive, making it suitable for long rides. The front and rear disc brakes provide excellent braking performance, though the absence of ABS is a notable omission. The bike comes with 17-inch alloys and MRF Zapper Q or TVS ATT 230 tyres, depending on the region, which offer good grip and handling. Overall, the CBR150R DLX is a versatile bike that can serve as a commuter, tourer, and track machine, making it a solid choice for enthusiasts looking for a balanced riding experience.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Honda CBR150R DLX is a compelling entry in the 150cc sports bike segment in India, though it comes with some caveats. The bikes design, heavily influenced by its elder sibling the CBR250R, is quite appealing and gives it a larger-than-expected presence. The 149cc engine, while not the most powerful, is rev-happy and delivers its best performance at high RPMs, making it a joy for enthusiasts who love to push their bikes. Handling is one of its strong suits, with a perimeter frame and well-tuned suspension that make it agile and stable, even at high speeds. However, the switchgear quality and the lack of ABS are notable downsides. Overall, its a great option for those who value handling and a sporty riding experience, but the premium pricing might be a deterrent for some.
Price
The Honda CBR150R DLX is priced at around Rs. 1,37,665 ex-showroom in Mumbai, which translates to an on-road price of approximately Rs. 1,60,000 to Rs. 1,70,000 depending on the state and local taxes. This pricing positions the CBR150R DLX as a premium offering in the 150cc segment, making it more expensive than its direct competitors like the Yamaha R15 V2 and the KTM Duke 200. While the bike offers excellent handling and a sporty vibe, the higher price might make it less attractive to budget-conscious buyers. However, for those willing to invest in a bike with Hondas racing DNA and superior build quality, the CBR150R DLX could be a worthwhile investment.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 06:01 PM The Honda CBR150R DLX is expected to deliver a mileage of around 35-40 kml, which is respectable for a sports bike in its class. This mileage, combined with a fuel tank capacity, gives the bike a range of approximately 500 kms on a full tank. This makes it a practical choice for both city commuting and occasional long rides, balancing performance with reasonable fuel efficiency.

I bought a CBR 150R an year back. It's cool and I'm impressed with the performance. The silky smooth engine is one of the best points to be noticed. Everyone can simply compare the bike in city roads. The actual performance can be tested only after riding it for 100+ kms. Once you crossed the 100 kms, the performance of the bike seems to be roaring. The main point to be noticed is Engine Idling. When you start the bike every day, leave it for few minutes till it reaches 3 points in heat. Then you can feel the smoothness. Oil change and chain tight should be done at the right time to maintain the performance. I touched 137kmph at 10,500 RPM. May be we can get 140kmph @11,000RPM. I didn't tried. Long distance travelled in a day: 650kms. Cleared 21,000kms in 1year and no problems other than brake pads and sprocket. Maintenance free bike and best in class. Honda = Quality. Mileage varies: 32 to 35kmph in city and 35-40 kmph in highway. For more mileage maintain below 7000 RPM and for more feel maintain above 6000RPM. Gear shifting at 11,000RPM will gives enough power to compete with 200NS. I'm planning to go for 250R for better performance.

Best Features: Riding positon.

Pros: Power above 7000 RPM, style, colour,

Cons: Low torque, Build quality, Head light should be in fireblade style

No Pass-light has been provided for this costly bike and the switches are like low class bikes. it should be changed for better selling.

Good bike but seems overpriced to me. Ideally this one and R15 should be comparable to NS if not less.

A most misunderstood concept...'TORQUE MAKES A BIKE ACCELERATE',its totally 'WRONG',although CBR has a low torque, but it is not a deciding factor in bike's acceleration.
