Hero Maestro Edge 110 ZX Drum

About
The Hero Maestro Edge 110 ZX Drum is an everyday family scooter that combines bold design with practical features. It is powered by a 110.9cc air-cooled engine that is BS6-compliant, producing 8.15 PS of power and 8.75 Nm of torque. This scooter features a host of amenities including a USB charging port, under-seat storage lamp, engine immobilizer, external fuel lid, LED taillamp, and a linked braking system. The instrument cluster has a digital-analog combo meter, and the scooter comes with diamond-cut alloy wheels and tubeless tires. The suspension setup, comprising telescopic forks at the front and a spring-loaded hydraulic system at the rear, is tuned for Indian roads, providing a comfortable ride over various terrains. However, some users have noted issues with the braking system and the need for better suspension refinement, especially when carrying heavy loads. Overall, it is a stylish and feature-rich scooter, but its performance and service aspects need careful consideration.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hero Maestro Edge 110 ZX Drum is a mixed bag when it comes to overall performance and user experience. On the positive side, it boasts a refined 110.9cc BS6-compliant engine that delivers smooth and vibration-free riding, especially in city conditions. The scooters design is bold and edgy, appealing to those who value stylish looks. It also comes loaded with features such as a USB charging port, under-seat storage lamp, and an integrated braking system, which enhance its practicality. However, several users have reported issues with mileage, which often falls below the expected range of 45-50 kmpl, and there are complaints about poor service experiences and frequent maintenance needs. Additionally, the braking system, though decent, could be improved with the inclusion of a disc brake. Overall, while it offers good comfort and stability, potential buyers should weigh the pros and cons carefully, especially considering the service and mileage aspects.
Price
The Hero Maestro Edge 110 ZX Drum, although discontinued, was last priced at around Rs 68,698 ex-showroom in India. When it was available, the on-road price would typically include additional costs such as registration, insurance, and other local taxes, which could push the total cost to around Rs 80,000 to Rs 85,000, depending on the location. As an automotive reviewer, I would advise potential buyers to consider the current market value if they are looking to purchase a used model, as prices can vary significantly based on the scooters condition, mileage, and location.
Latest Updates
Saturday, 11 November 2023 02:43 AM The Hero Maestro Edge 110 ZX Drum has been discontinued in India as of November 2023, marking the end of its production run. This scooter was known for its 110.9cc BS6-compliant engine, producing 8.15 PS of power and 8.75 Nm of torque. I believe this discontinuation might be due to the increasing competition in the 110cc scooter segment.
Thursday, 22 July 2021 12:46 PM Hero MotoCorp introduced the Scarlet Red shade for the Maestro Edge 110 in 2021, adding a new color option to the lineup. This update also included the availability of a disc brake variant, enhancing the scooters safety features. I think this move was a good attempt to keep the model fresh and appealing to buyers.
Wednesday, 01 April 2020 04:11 PM The BS6-compliant version of the Hero Maestro Edge 110 was launched in India in 2020, featuring a fuel-injected system and several practical features like an external fuel filler cap, USB charging port, and a semi-digital instrument cluster. I believe these updates made the scooter more efficient and user-friendly.
Saturday, 08 June 2019 07:02 AM In 2019, Hero MotoCorp updated the Maestro Edge 110 to comply with the new BS6 emission norms, which became mandatory from April 1, 2020. This update included significant changes to the engine and emission control systems. I think this was a necessary step to ensure the scooter remained relevant in the market.
Thursday, 01 October 2015 02:26 AM The Hero Maestro Edge 110 ZX Drum was initially priced at Rs. 68,698 before its discontinuation, offering features like a combined braking system, tubeless tyres, and a digital-analog combo meter. I believe the pricing was competitive, but the scooter faced stiff competition from other models in its segment.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 05:26 AM The mileage of the Hero Maestro Edge 110 ZX Drum is a point of concern for many users. While the company claims a mileage of around 45-50 kmpl, several reviews indicate that real-world mileage often falls short, ranging from 35-45 kmpl. This variability can be attributed to factors such as riding conditions, maintenance, and the weight of the riders. If you are concerned about mileage and running costs, it is crucial to consider these user experiences and possibly test ride the scooter to get a better understanding of its fuel efficiency in your specific usage scenario.

So much of the problems in my maestro's battery which I bought in October 2017. I have been doing time to time servicing, still, the problem is consistent.

Best Features: Indicators

Pros: Smooth to ride inspite of its weight

Cons: Battery problem is consistent. The charge may get low anytime anywhere. Sometimes in the middle of road.

Good featured scooter built with low quality

I am writing a review after one year. I purchased it last year Dussehra (30th SEP 2017). The mileage at the starting was around 50km/ltr but gradually it decreases and reached 40km/ltr even regular service and maintenance was in place. My engine crank was faulty also kick and the battery was of poor quality. It causes me a lot of problems because I have been commuting 30km daily. Tyre also of low grade because regularly they are creating puncture problems. This scooter I would not refer because it causes frustration to the customer after purchase. The company should be built a quality product because they charged Rs. 60k+ money for that. They should fully check scooter quality before delivering to the customer.

Best Features: Look, comfort and seat length

Pros: Look and comfort (bigger seat length)

Cons: mileage and built quality

Maestro Edge, Feel the Josh if it Starts..

I purchased this scooter in Oct 2015, since then almost 3 months passed with full of problems with this scooter. starting problem: at first, everyday it has to take multiple cranking to start. after some time we found out it required to pull chock to start (if you want to start quickly) then a new problem raised that, its battery get drained out in every 2-3 days. so we have to use kick to start, and funny part is, two people require to start this wonderful scooter. one to kick and another to accelerate as the handle bar can not be reached by same person. then a new problem raised leaving everything behind, it stops to recognize its both the keys. have to remove key multiple and insert again to make it work. its support team: once it was on starting in the evening therefore it has to left in office next day when we called workshop they said bring it here, then we will check. then we contacted customer care number they said you will be contacted in two working days. now i am planning to put it on OLX, if anyone doubts the above review, kindly buy this from me i will give you 10% discount on cost. it has just completed 1000 kms, not having even a single scratch, accessories fitted from showroom.

Best Features: Immobilizer

Pros: Immobilizer, can open seat and fuel lid without removing key, light in storage

Cons: Brakes, mileage if starts, powerless above 40-50kmph
