Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Hero MotoCorp Limited unveiled an iconic super-premium street-fighter naked sports motorcycle, Hero Hastur 620cc Concept on February 5, 2014. Although, the bike is still in a concept stage but we will soon see the production-spec model by the by mid-2016 or end-2016. This spectacular and eye-catching bike was developed with the help of EBR and has got a sincere treatment in the field of technology and design, a fine work of craftsmanship. It is introduced to compete with some major names in the much acclaimed middle-weight segment and certainly looks like a strong contender. HML is the second largest manufacturer of powered two-wheelers by making almost 6.9 million bikes a year. Let's check out this splendid piece of machinery in detail.

Hero Hastur 620cc Concept is a perfect blend of style, sportiness, comfort and technology along with an extraordinary design. It includes twin projector beam headlights with LED running lights and integrated LED winkers, 17-inch cast aluminum wheels with sticky Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tires, a step-up seat, a well sculpted fuel tank, a Panigale-style cooling air tunnels in the tail to cover a removable sub-frame for easy crash repair, LED tail lights, a neatly faired-in and under-engine exhaust, a geodesic tubular chassis, a bright yellow trellis chassis that uses the engine as a stress member for perfect mass centralization and many more along with a wet weight of 160kgs.

Engine and Gearbox

Hero Hastur 620cc Concept has got a 620cc, 4-stroke, liquid-cooled, over-square parallel-twin engine with a maximum power of 79bhp at 9,600rpm and a maximum torque of 72Nm at 7,750rpm and is mated with a 6-speed cartridge-type gearbox transmission for quicker shifts and efficient power transfer to the rear wheel. It has a top speed of almost 240kmph and takes only 3.8 seconds to reach 0-100kmph acceleration with a mind blowing fuel economy. Its cylinder head has got a Controlled Swirl Injection for decrease in emissions, more power, broader torque and increased fuel economy. It also has a counter-rotating crankshaft which restores feel, speeds steering and improve manoeuvrability by cancelling out the reciprocating mass of the pistons and crankshaft.

Suspension and Brakes

Hero Hastur 620cc Concept has got dual disk brakes with 4-piston radial calipers at front and single disk brake at rear. The suspension system includes adjustable inverted forks at front and adjustable monoshock at rear.

Instrument Console

It also has an all-digital instrument cluster which includes a digital fuel gauge, tachometer and speedometer, two digital trip meters, a pass light, a stand alarm, low oil, fuel and battery indicators, a high oil temperature indicator and a chocked air filter indicator.

Shades and Expected Price

Hero Hastur 620cc Concept will be available in a single variant in a combination of Gray and Yellow shade at an expected ex-showroom, Delhi price of INR 4lakhs, which may vary by the mid of 2015.

Is Hero Hastur 620 more cool than Royal Enfield Classic 500?
29 December 2022 06:09
Hero Hastur and Royal Enfield Classic 500 are two extremely different type of motorcycles. The 499 cc, fuel injected single cylinder Royal Enfield Classic 500 is carrying a big engine with loads of body weight onto it. The engine is relaxed and tuned in the cruiser motorcycle segment while the Hastur on the other hand is street concept with a much bigger 620 cc engine. Hastur takes just 4 seconds for a 0-100 kmph sprint, thanks to its super light body while the top speed sits at 240 kmph. Royal Enfield has a limited top speed of 130 kmph.
When Hero Hastur 620 is going to be launched in India? And where it will be available initially?
29 December 2022 05:59
Hero Hastur has not yet been spotted in a production ready avatar in the country. This makes the fact more strong that it would take a lot more time for its launch. Hero's extensive work on the HX250R has also pushed back the 600cc segment bike. You can expect the same to be available at selected dealerships in the major 100 cities of the country as the sale of the bike would be focused in the most developed markets first. It carries a 620cc engine producing 78.9 BHP @ 9600 rpm and 72 NM @ 7750 rpm. The gearbox on the same is a 6-speed unit and comes with just 160 kg of kerb weight. It's top speed is rated at 240 kmph.
I have been seeing Hero Hastur reviews, pictures past a year and still have no idea when is it launching in India! Is somebody there to get me through this?
29 December 2022 05:57
Hero Hastur has been seen till date in concept pictures only. The bike has not yet been spotted in it's production ready version and its launch would be most probably in the 3rd quarter of 2016. Firstly, Hero will focus on the HX250R and gain some market in the decaying Karizma section. The Hastur will fall in the category of middleweight street bikes and it will require intense testing before its launch. It was seen with a 620 cc engine producing 78.9 BHP and 72 NM of torque. The gearbox used was a 6-speed whereas the weight was kept very low at 160 kg. It is expected to be priced around INR 4,00,000.
How is the sound of the Hero Hastur 620 and can we put extra vibrational sound silencer.....like R1 and Hayabusa?
29 December 2022 05:53
Hero Hastur has not been spotted in a production ready avatar. Its sound would be below the government directed NVH levels and putting a loud silencer for more noise would be strictly prohibited in the coming days. The time till the Hastur will be arrive, the officials will ban the use of aftermarket exhaust system as they have currently fined some riders as well as the garages who are involved in these cases. I expect that the exhaust note of the Hastur would be good enough that it does not require modifications to its exhaust system. It will get its power from a powerful 2-cylinder 620 cc engine producing 79 BHP and 72 NM of torque. It would most probably debut in 2016 as a mass production ready version.

What's the correct mileage of Hero Hastur 620 and when it will be launched?
29 December 2022 05:53
The mileage of Hero Hastur has not yet been revealed but I expect the figure to be around 22-24 kmpl. Hero has a pending list of motorcycles after which the Hastur will be launched. You can expect this super street bike to arrive in 2016 as 2015 would be for HX250R. Its on-road price in Karnataka would be close to INR 5 lakh and it would be carrying a twin cylinder 620 cc engine, expected to produce 79 BHP and 72 NM of torque. Its lightweight bod would feature aggressive designing and its expected top speed is 240 kmph. It gets a 6-speed gearbox along with a 15 liter fuel tank.
