Harley Davidson Iron 883
General information and overview
The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is a cruiser bike that stands out with its classic design and robust build. Powered by a 45-degree Evolution V-Twin engine, it produces around 50 HP, which is adequate for Indian road conditions. The bike features both front and rear disc brakes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), ensuring good braking performance. Weighing 256 kg, it has a ground clearance of 140 mm, which is sufficient for navigating Indian roads. Available in only one variant and three colors, the Iron 883 is known for its comfortable riding posture and low-revving engine, making it a good choice for long tours, whether solo or with a pillion. However, it can be stiff, and the heat during summer days, along with the mileage, are aspects to consider before making a purchase. Overall, its a well-crafted bike for Indian roads, offering a unique blend of style, comfort, and performance.
Expert opinion and recommendation
The Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is a cruiser bike that embodies the classic Harley-Davidson charm, but it comes with its own set of pros and cons. On the positive side, it offers a comfortable riding posture and is well-suited for Indian road conditions, thanks to its low-revving engine and ample torque. However, it can be quite stiff, making long-distance rides somewhat uncomfortable. The bikes design and styling are undoubtedly appealing, and it handles well on both on-road and off-road terrains. Despite its strengths, the Iron 883 may not deliver the ultimate Harley-Davidson experience, particularly for those seeking more power, as it falls short compared to higher displacement models like the 1200 cc variants. Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure the bikes reliability, but overall, its a solid choice for passionate riders who value the Harley-Davidson brand and are willing to compromise on power for style and comfort.

Pricing details and changes
In India, the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is priced competitively within the premium cruiser segment. The ex-showroom price typically ranges around 10-12 lakhs, depending on the region and any customizations or additional features. When you factor in on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other taxes, the price can go up to around 13-15 lakhs. This pricing makes the Iron 883 one of the more affordable Harley-Davidson models available in the Indian market, appealing to those who want to own a Harley without breaking the bank. However, its important to consider that higher models with more powerful engines may offer better value in the long run for serious enthusiasts.
Fuel efficiency information
The mileage of the Harley-Davidson Iron 883 is a critical factor for potential buyers, especially in India where fuel efficiency can significantly impact running costs. The bike generally offers a mileage of around 20-25 kml, which is reasonable for a cruiser of its class. However, this can vary based on riding conditions, with city rides typically yielding lower mileage compared to highway cruising. The fuel tank capacity of 12.5 liters means youll need to refill frequently, but the overall fuel efficiency is manageable for those who prioritize the riding experience over strict fuel economy.

Whats the mileage of this bike??
Once you guys buy your Iron 883, do install the screamin eagle mufflers and install an analog oil temp display for great looks. I wish the Iron 883 had better front shock absorbers. Expect high rpm after a cold start. Be careful of accelerating to great speeds in city traffic. Slow down completely while making sharp turns. Its a great bike for cruising on long roads. It has great torque and breathtaking looks............Dont forget to buy a good helmet, Harley goggles (to prevent eyes from flooding at high speeds) a good pair of Levis jeans and a large jacket. Have fun.
