Our take on this /// Verdict
The Ducati Multistrada 950 S is a versatile and powerful motorcycle that excels in various riding conditions, making it a compelling choice for both touring and sporty riding. Its meaty power delivery, comprehensive windblast protection, and friendly ergonomics ensure a comfortable ride over long distances. However, it does come with some drawbacks, such as heating issues in slow traffic and a wide handlebar that hinders maneuverability in tight spaces. Despite these, the bikes responsive and engaging character, coupled with its adjustable electronic suspension and customisable ride modes, make it a joy to ride on open roads. The Multistrada 950 S strikes a perfect balance between comfort and performance, making it an excellent option for riders who seek a fun and capable motorcycle for both daily use and long tours.
Price
In India, the Ducati Multistrada 950 S is priced around Rs 15.49 lakh ex-showroom. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can escalate to approximately Rs 18-20 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. While this places the Multistrada 950 S at the higher end of the adventure-touring segment, its premium build quality, advanced features like the Ducati Skyhook active suspension, and the overall riding experience justify the cost. For those who value performance, comfort, and the prestige of owning a Ducati, the Multistrada 950 S is well worth the investment.

The Multistrada 950 S is powered by a 937 cc twin-cylinder Testastretta 11° engine, which is Euro 4 compliant and features four valves per cylinder, a liquid cooling system, and a bore and stroke of 94 mm and 67.5 mm respectively. This engine provides a balance of power and efficiency, making it suitable for various riding conditions. I believe this engine configuration is one of the strengths of the Multistrada 950 S, offering both performance and reliability.

In terms of comfort and ergonomics, the Multistrada 950 S is designed to be more accessible than the larger 1260 models, although it may not offer as much room for taller riders. The bike is easier to handle and maneuver, making it a great option for those looking for a more manageable adventure bike. I believe this makes the 950 S an excellent choice for riders who want a balance between performance and practicality.

The Multistrada 950 S is priced at approximately £13,695, which is more affordable than the higher-end 1260 models. This pricing strategy by Ducati aims to make the Multistrada range more accessible to a wider audience. I think this pricing is competitive and will attract many buyers who are looking for a premium adventure bike without the high cost.
Mileage

The fuel efficiency of the Ducati Multistrada 950 S is respectable, especially considering its powerful engine. Despite spirited riding and navigating through dense traffic, the bike returns a fuel economy of around 19 kmpl. This mileage is commendable given the bikes 110hp output and the fact that it is designed for high-speed touring rather than fuel efficiency. For riders who plan to use the Multistrada 950 S for long tours, this mileage ensures that fuel stops are not too frequent, making the overall riding experience more enjoyable and less interrupted. Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |
