Latest Updates

Ducati has not made any official announcements for a 2024 Ducati Multistrada 1260 S model. Instead, the focus has been on the Multistrada V4 series, which was introduced in 2021. This shift suggests that the V4 series may be the primary focus for Ducatis adventure-touring segment. I think this could be a strategic move to emphasize the newer technology and performance of the V4 models.

While the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S is known for its powerful Testastretta DVT engine, the newer Multistrada V4 series boasts a 1,158cc Granturismo V-4 engine producing 170 hp. This significant power boost and the introduction of advanced technologies like adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection make the V4 series a compelling upgrade. I believe the performance difference is substantial, making the V4 a more attractive option for many riders.

There has been speculation among motorcycle enthusiasts that the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S might be discontinued in favor of the newer V4 models. This speculation arises from the lack of recent updates or announcements for the 1260 S. However, no official confirmation has been made by Ducati. I think if this happens, it would be a loss for fans of the 1260 S, but it could also drive innovation in the segment.

The Ducati Multistrada 1260 S is praised for its ergonomic design, which provides comfort for both long-distance touring and off-road adventures. The bike features adjustable seat heights and aerodynamic deflectors to enhance rider comfort. I believe the attention to detail in its design makes it a standout in its class.

Although the Multistrada 1260 S does not feature the advanced radar technology of the V4 series, it still comes with a robust suite of rider aids, including cornering ABS and traction control. These features enhance safety and riding experience. I think these technologies make the 1260 S a reliable choice for riders.

The Ducati Multistrada 1260 S, when available, is typically priced in the range of Rs. 20-25 lakhs in India, depending on the trim and accessories. However, with the focus shifting to the V4 series, availability might become limited. I believe this pricing makes it a premium but competitive option in the Indian market.

In comparison to other adventure-touring bikes, the Multistrada 1260 S stands out for its Italian design and robust engine performance. However, the newer V4 series offers more advanced technology and slightly better performance metrics. I believe the 1260 S still holds its ground as a solid choice for those who prefer a more traditional Ducati experience.

One of the advantages of the Multistrada 1260 S is its relatively longer service intervals compared to some of its predecessors. However, the newer V4 series takes this further with even longer valve-check service intervals. I think this is a significant factor for riders who prioritize maintenance convenience.

Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 12:33 AM
The mileage of the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S is not its strongest suit, particularly given its powerful engine and the nature of its intended use. In real-world conditions, you can expect an average fuel efficiency of around 15-20 kml, which translates to a range of about 300-400 kilometers from its 20-liter fuel tank. This is somewhat limited for a long-distance touring bike, but its a trade-off for the immense power and performance the bike offers. For riders who plan extensive tours, this might necessitate more frequent fuel stops, but for those who prioritize the thrill of the ride over fuel efficiency, the Multistrada 1260 S still delivers an unparalleled experience.
