USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Kawasaki Versys 1000 is a stellar choice for anyone looking for a reliable and comfortable touring motorcycle in India. With its smooth and versatile 1043cc inline-four engine, this bike excels in both city riding and long-distance touring. The ergonomics are spot on, offering a commanding and upright seating posture, although the lack of a height-adjustable seat might be a concern for shorter riders. The bikes performance is impressive, with ample power for high-speed cruising and excellent handling on twisty roads. However, its not designed for off-road adventures, and the suspension, while comfortable on well-maintained roads, can feel bumpy on uneven terrain. Despite some minor drawbacks, such as high maintenance costs and limited electronic features in the older models, the Versys 1000 offers unbeatable value for its price, making it a great deal for those seeking a comfortable and powerful tourer.

2024 Kawasaki Versys 1000 on road price is Rs 14.17 lakh in Delhi, Rs 14.65 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 14.34 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 14.53 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Kawasaki dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.
Latest Updates
Monday, 09 September 2024 10:35 AM Kawasaki is speculated to be upgrading the Versys 1000 for the 2025 model year, potentially increasing the engine capacity to meet stringent environmental regulations. This move could help the bike compete better against rivals like the BMW S 1000 XR and Suzuki GSX-S1000GX. I think this upgrade is necessary to keep the Versys 1000 relevant in the market.
Monday, 29 July 2024 06:58 AM The 2024 Kawasaki Versys 1000 S has been praised for its advanced features, including a full-color TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity via the Kawasaki Rideology App, and an IMU-enhanced electronics package. The bike also features a quick shifter, LED cornering lights, and rider-selectable integrated riding modes. I believe these features make the Versys 1000 S a compelling choice for adventure touring.
Monday, 01 July 2024 11:55 AM Kawasaki has announced that the Versys 1000 range for 2024 will include three variants: the standard, S, and SE models. Each model offers various levels of features, with the SE model boasting Showa electronically damped suspension for enhanced comfort and stability. The range also includes several Edition models like Tourer, Tourer Plus, and Grand Tourer. I think the versatility of these models will appeal to a wide range of riders.
Monday, 02 October 2023 01:19 AM The 2024 Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE is set to be released in North America, featuring a boosted engine with approximately 133 horsepower, up from the previous 118 horsepower. This model also includes hard bags, a TFT dash, and Showa Skyhook suspension, making it the highest-spec version available. The addition of a USB-C charger on the handlebar is a welcome feature for long-distance riders.
Friday, 15 September 2023 06:10 AM Kawasakis Versys 1000 is known for its long-travel suspension, which allows the bike to handle less-than-perfect road conditions with ease. The bike features lightweight 17” wheels and a supersport-grade high-precision brake management system, similar to those used on the Ninja H2 and Ninja ZX-10R. This setup makes the Versys 1000 highly capable on various road types.
Sunday, 20 August 2023 09:00 AM The Versys 1000 range for 2024 includes new color options, such as Metallic Matte Graphenesteel Gray/Metallic Spark Black for the standard model, and Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Phantom Silver and Metallic Matte Dark Gray/Metallic Diablo Black for the S and SE models. These aesthetic updates add to the bikes appeal. I think the new colors will attract more buyers.
Monday, 10 July 2023 02:57 PM Kawasakis advanced modelling software and the Bosch IMU in the Versys 1000 S enable the KCMF (Kawasaki Cornering Management Function) to monitor and adjust engine and chassis parameters during cornering, ensuring smooth transitions and enhanced stability. This technology is a significant advantage for riders.
Sunday, 25 June 2023 02:40 PM The Versys 1000 S model comes with a quick shifter, allowing for clutchless upshifts and downshifts, which enhances acceleration and deceleration. This feature, combined with the bikes long-travel suspension, makes it well-suited for real-world riding conditions. I believe this makes the bike more enjoyable to ride.
Thursday, 01 June 2023 01:11 AM The 2024 Kawasaki Versys 1000 range offers various practical features, including a large height-adjustable windscreen, handguards, and grip heaters. These features are particularly beneficial for long-distance touring and riding in varying weather conditions.
Monday, 15 May 2023 08:35 AM Kawasaki has emphasized the comfort and versatility of the Versys 1000, making it suitable for any road and any time. The bikes design and features are geared towards providing a comfortable and stable ride, even on less-than-perfect road surfaces. I think this focus on comfort sets the Versys 1000 apart from other adventure tourers.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 07:34 AM The Kawasaki Versys 1000 offers a respectable fuel economy, which is crucial for long-distance touring. In real-world conditions, this bike returns an average mileage of around 20-23 kml, which translates to a riding range of about 420 kilometers from its 21-litre fuel tank. This mileage is quite healthy for a bike of its size and weight, making it a practical choice for those concerned about running costs.

Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges.
