The Cleveland Ace Deluxe is a motorcycle that promises a lot but falls short in several key areas. The 229cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine, though capable of producing 15.4PS and 16Nm of torque, feels unrefined and jerky at low revs, and the power delivery is inconsistent. The gearbox is another letdown, with loud and grating shifts that make finding neutral a chore. However, the ride quality is pleasant, thanks to the upside-down forks and twin-shock absorbers, and the handling, though not perfect, is manageable. The absence of ABS, especially at its initial launch price, was a significant drawback.
