Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Bajaj Auto has launched two new commuter bikes called the Discover 150 F and Discover 150 S on 11th August, 2014 in India. These 150cc sub-meter segment bikes will surely compete with the likes of Honda CB Trigger, Hero Xtreme, TVS Apache RTR 160, Yamaha FZS and Suzuki Gixxer. The tag-line for the bikes is 'Ek Naya Josh' which are claimed to deliver an impressive mileage of 72 kmpl. These bikes are a perfect combination of power and performance. Let's check out the offerings in Discover 150 F.

Design and Style

Bajaj Discover 150 F is inspired from the Discover 125ST and shares design similarities, graphics, web-spoke alloy wheels and body panels with it. The bike has got a semi-fairing which reminds you of the Pulsar 220. Rest of the design came from its sibling 125ST which comprises of front and rear mudguards, a long seat, turn indicators, silver finished grab rails, rear mono shocks and new body decals. The handle bar has been raised along with forward-set foot pegs which offer an upright and comfortable riding position. The bike also gets the traditional decals that make it look quite appealing. The bike is designed by using the semi double-cradle frame.

Bajaj Discover 150F Instrument panel

The motorcycle features a digital-analogue instrument console that comprises of a digital fuel gauge, clock, odometer, trip-meter along with an analogue speedometer. The bike also comes with low fuel and low battery indicators.

Dimensions and Fuel Tank Capacity

The Bajaj Discover 150 F has got a length of 2038mm, width of 714mm and height of 1040mm as its dimensions along with a kerb weight of 132Kgs. The bike features a sturdy fuel tank with a capacity of 10-litres which gives you a decent range along with a usable and unusable reserve capacity of 1.9 and 1.6-litres respectively.

Bajaj Discover 150F Engine and Gearbox

Bajaj Discover 150 F is powered by a 144.8cc, 4-stroke, single cylinder, air-cooled, two-valve, DTS-i engine that generates an impressive power of 14.3 BHP at 8500 rpm and a peak torque of 12.75 Nm at 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission and a wet multi-plate clutch which works in all-up pattern. It has a bore into stroke ratio of 56.0 mm and 58.8 mm respectively. The bike can reach a top speed of 110 kmph.

Brakes and Suspension

The motorcycle has got 240 mm petal disc brakes at its front and 130 mm drum brakes at the rear end which are quite effective and strong. The suspension duties are handled by 130 mm telescopic forks at the front while 110 mm nitrox twin with mono-shock absorbers are placed at the back which works flawlessly and effortlessly.

Ride and Handling

It is a great fun to ride this amazing motorcycle. The wheelbase of 1305mm and ground clearance of 165 mm protects the bike from damages. I'm using Bajaj Discover 150 since 2014, near about 100000 km I have rode it. Only issue I think is fuel leakage. I rode it 450 km in a single day, with no issues.

Using Discover 150 Disc, Since 2011, Better than 150s and 150F. Best thing about bike is pickup and mileage. My longest distance in a days is approx 150 kms. Even after using for 10 years its gives mileage of 45 to 50 kmph. But i use to take care for bike well. Oil changing in every 2 months and visiting garage every month.

Bajaj Discover 150 DTSi is The Worst Bikes Ever.

Why did the Bajaj Company cheated their customers by providing this bike. It's always stopped by itself on road and in speed breakers and when I again start the bike it makes the hell of sound like it accelerates itself full race all by itself. What a worst bike. And when the company sold some of this bike and start to getting complains, the company stops this bike. I.e, what the hell. You should be ashamed of yourself Bajaj Company.

Best Features: Those customers who have purchased this bike is by the looks of it and by the company promises the customers that it is the best bike in segment etc-etc. Company should be ashamed of themselves.

Pros: Just the looks

Cons: Everything in this bike are worst like hell worst. From the day I bought this bike every single thing is worst.

I rod this Bike 110 kms in a day without facing problem. Rich 80 kmph speed with weight of 120 KGS with slide throttle. Mileage is good too in this segment. Now I want to ride with pillion rider on hills. I love this bike Discover 150 old 2011 model. It has its own problems too. That is leakage of engine oil. Other wise good.

Best Features: I rod this bike 110 kms in a day not feeling any problems. Great pick up. With me, my wife and 1.6 year old son accumulated weight of 125 kgs got 80 kmph.

Pros: Using since last 7 years. Feeling problem not so much. I rod it 110 kms in a day not feel so much problems with it. Up ride position is nice enough and good for long ride.

Cons: Nothing so much.
