Bajaj Discover 100T Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Bajaj Discover is one of the most loved commuter bikes from the brand that has been making history in the sales ever since its launch in 2004. The upgradations followed and Bajaj Discover 100T was launched with much better features and the performance quotient. It is one of the most expensive offerings from the brand in the commuter segment though offers a better efficiency. With a 102 cc displacement, the commuter is all the way reasonable and affordable with better performance.
Powering the Bajaj Discover 100T is a 102 cc, 4-Stroke, DTSi, air-cooled engine capable of churning out a maximum power of 9.3 Bhp @ 9000 rpm and an utmost torque of 9.2 Nm @ 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission box. The bike gets a kerb weight of 121 kgs and a ground clearance of 165 mm is enough to handle it well on every terrain as well as sharp corners. The suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear wheel gets Nitrox shock absorbers.
The Bajaj Discover 1000T gets disc brakes at the front and 110mm Drum brakes at the rear. It gets an analogue speedometer and a fuel gauge. The Bajaj Discover 100T is known to have a fuel efficiency of 75 kmpl combined for both the highways and city roads. The claimed top speed is 100 kmph while it is known to cover 0-60 kmph in just a duration of 5.50 seconds. Brilliant Blue, Midnight Black & Blue, Flame Red and Midnight Black & Red are the four colors available for the bike.
FAQs
-
Was Discover 100T too early in the Indian market?
29 January 2025 07:34That was ahead of its time, but that’s not always a good thing. But the market wasn’t willing to pay a premium for a high tech 100cc.
-
How reliable is the long term of the Bajaj Discover 100T compared to other Bajaj models?
29 January 2025 07:34After 40,000 km it is a nightmare: electrical issues, engine noise, anything you can think of. Stick to simpler Bajaj models.
-
So, why did Bajaj stop the Discover 100T, even though it was so popular?
29 January 2025 07:34The reason I reckon is because people started moving to either basic 100cc bikes or more powerful 125cc+ bikes. The 100T sat awkwardly in the middle.
-
Does the Discover 100T’s monoshock rear suspension actually do anything?
29 January 2025 07:34That depends on how you ride. You might not notice if you are a sedate commuter. You can push it a bit and the difference is clear.
-
Is the Bajaj Discover 100T the 'Ultimate 100cc' bike?
29 January 2025 07:34Launched with a lot of fanfare, it was revolutionary at the time, but Bajaj didn't update it enough over the years. A missed opportunity to keep it ultimate.
-
Is the Bajaj Discover 100T the 'Ultimate 100cc' bike?
29 January 2025 07:34The "ultimate" claim is subjective. Perfect for some, it’s a perfect balance of power and efficiency. It's a jack of all trades, master of none for others.
