USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Bajaj CT100B is a robust and practical choice for those seeking a reliable and economical commuter bike in India. It stands out for its impressive fuel efficiency, with users reporting mileage of around 89.5 kmpl, which is a significant advantage for daily commuters. The bikes performance is commendable, especially considering its engine displacement, and it handles smoothly at cruising speeds of 60-65 kmh. The simple yet effective design, including the round reflectors in the headlamp, adds to its utilitarian appeal. However, it lacks the jazzy features that some might find appealing in other models. Overall, the CT100B is a highly reliable bike that requires minimal maintenance, making it an excellent option for middle-class families and those prioritizing functionality over flair.
Price
The Bajaj CT100B is priced competitively in the Indian market. As of recent data, the ex-showroom price for the CT100B typically ranges between 50,000 to 60,000, depending on the region and any local taxes. Once you factor in on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to around 65,000 to 75,000. This pricing makes the CT100B an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers who are looking for a no-frills, reliable commuter bike. The cost-effectiveness, combined with its excellent fuel economy, makes it a smart financial choice for daily commuting needs.
Latest Updates
Wednesday, 10 April 2024 09:52 PM Bajajs decision to discontinue the CT100 has sparked speculation about a potential new 100cc commuter motorcycle. While there is no official word from Bajaj, the market is abuzz with rumors of a new model that could compete directly with the Hero Splendor. I think introducing a new model would be a wise move to fill the gap left by the CT100.
Thursday, 21 March 2024 11:23 AM The Bajaj CT 100 has been discontinued from the market, marking the end of an era for this highly affordable and fuel-efficient motorcycle. The last of the CT 100 stock is being cleared out by retailers, and no new units will be produced. This leaves the Platina 100 as the only 100cc option from Bajaj, starting at Rs 61,152 (ex-showroom, Delhi). I think this move might push Bajaj to introduce a new commuter bike to compete with the Hero Splendor.
Friday, 15 March 2024 06:24 AM The CT100 was known for its low price tag of Rs 53,696 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and its lengthy history in Indias two-wheeler industry. It was a strong competitor to the Hero Splendor and other commuter bikes. The bikes popularity was largely due to its fuel-efficient engine and affordable maintenance. I believe the CT100 will be remembered as a reliable and economical option for many riders.
Thursday, 15 June 2023 07:30 PM The CT100 was powered by a 102cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 7.79bhp and 8.34Nm of peak torque, paired with a four-speed transmission. It featured a single downtube chassis and 17-inch alloy wheels with telescopic front suspension and dual springs at the rear. This simple yet effective design made it a favorite among mileage-conscious riders. I believe the CT100s engineering was a key factor in its success.
Thursday, 26 May 2022 11:21 PM Bajaj had introduced several feature upgrades for the CT100, including a fuel gauge, to enhance the riding experience. These updates were aimed at making the CT100 more appealing to potential buyers. The bike remained a strong contender in the 100cc segment with its improved features. I believe these updates helped in keeping the CT100 relevant in a competitive market.
Tuesday, 27 October 2020 08:59 AM The Bajaj CT100 and Platina 100 saw a price hike of up to Rs 3,904, reflecting market dynamics and production costs. This price adjustment was part of a broader trend in the two-wheeler industry where many models saw price increases. I think such price hikes are inevitable due to rising costs and inflation.
Thursday, 29 March 2018 03:16 PM Bajaj had previously reduced prices on the CT100 range, making it even more attractive to budget-conscious buyers. The CT100 B, the bare-basic version, was priced from Rs 30,714 (ex-showroom Delhi) after a price cut of Rs 1,939. This move was part of Bajajs strategy to make the CT100 more competitive in the market. I believe such price adjustments helped in boosting sales temporarily.
Wednesday, 23 August 2017 12:38 PM The Bajaj CT100 Electric Start was launched with an introductory price of Rs 38,806 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra) and Rs 41,997 (ex-showroom, Delhi). This variant added a convenient electric start feature to the existing model, enhancing user experience. It was the fourth variant introduced in the CT100 lineup. I think the addition of an electric start was a welcome update for many users.
Tuesday, 05 July 2016 04:31 PM Bajaj Auto issued a statement regarding a dispute with TVS Motor Company over an advertisement campaign. TVS had dragged Bajaj to court over claims of false representation of fuel economy figures for the CT100. Bajaj clarified its stance, emphasizing the accuracy of their fuel economy claims. This public spat highlighted the competitive nature of the commuter bike segment. I believe such disputes often reflect the intense competition in the market.
Tuesday, 09 February 2016 09:09 AM The Bajaj CT100B was launched at a best ever price of Rs 30,990, making it one of the most affordable motorcycles in India. This launch was part of Bajajs effort to capture a larger share of the commuter bike market. The CT100B was known for its simplicity and fuel efficiency, making it a favorite among budget buyers. I think this pricing strategy was a smart move to attract more customers.

The best part is its long and padded seat that adds more comfort while commuting around on rough terrain. It can serve as the best personal source of transport as its cost is even less than many bikes that were sold 10 years ago in the same engine segment. It rivals none other than TVS Sport and all other 100cc models that are priced under INR 40,000 in the Indian market.
