Bajaj Avenger 150 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
The Bajaj Avenger finally gets a younger member for a wider audience with the launch of new Avenger Street 150. The perfect partner for a city cruiser, the motorcycle gets a really different approach from all the others on the launch list for the festive season. Even being on the lowest step of the Avenger family, the new Street 150 has its genuinely different identity with an impressive hold on a viewer's eye. The iconic Street design on a cruiser bike for a perfect head turning experience has been given to the new Avenger 150 Street. Its street control handlebar makes excellent city riding experience. The black finished alloy wheels on 150 Street and Midnight Blue body shade makes it look heavenly good. The long wheelbase, wide rear tyre and new semi-digital instrument console make it the best option in its segment.
The design of the new Street 150 basically stays the same as the last generation of Avenger 220. The same has been altered with the Street nameplate and a perfectly matching color to the identity has been provided to the Street 150. It gets the same dark treatment on all the parts where chrome used to rule in the earlier version. The short sporty exhaust looks more than perfect and the bike is an excellent example of street-based cruiser bikes. The Bajaj Avenger 150 Street measures 2177 mm in length, 801 mm in width and 1070 mm in height. It comes with a wheelbase of 1480 mm and gets a nice 169 mm of ground clearance. The bike weighs 148 kg.
The same instrument console as the old Avenger 220 has been used on Street 150 but with a small digital display for the odometer and the trip meter. The chrome parts stay black whereas the upper ring of the single handlebar mounted pod has been kept chrome. The fuel gauge and other indicators have been placed on the fuel tank. The most noticeable change on the young Avenger is its engine capacity. It gets a 149cc engine producing 14.3 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 12.5 NM @ 6,500 rpm. The gearbox on the same is a 5-speed unit. The DTS-i motor has been used in a lower state of tune whereas the new generation of 150 cc engine produces 16.8 BHP from the same displacement. The 150 Street gets an approximate top speed of 100-105 kmph. The approx. mileage is 40-45 kmpl in city traffic conditions and 45-50 kmpl on highway. The low seat position makes the bike a comfortable riding machine for both types of roads.
Looking nearly identical to the other Avengers in terms of dimensions, the new Street 150 gets a relatively small 240 mm disc brake for the front and 130 mm of drum brake for the rear. The tyre size has been kept quite huge by using 90/90-17 for the front and 130/90-15 for the rear. The bike gets the same telescopic forks and hydraulic shock absorbers like its earlier Avenger cousin. The Avenger Street 150 is as comfortable as its elder siblings. All the Avengers share most of their parts, making each of them promising for a comfortable and easy ride. Being Street focused, the baby Avenger loses the rear backrest and the front windshield. It gets the same cushioned seats and brings no harm to your back while on tiring city rides. Its low seat height facilitates easy manoeuvrability and keeps the riders safe all the time.
Bajaj has made the Street 150 as the most beautiful and youngster oriented motorcycle from the series. Its Midnight Blue shade easily fades many of the high capacity motorcycles and makes it look the best out of all. The Avenger family can now finally focus on all the age segments of bike riders and cruiser lovers. 150 Street has no other alternative in its segment and comes as the ultimate 150cc cruiser for the Indian market. Its color scheme and dark theme make it the best looking Avenger out of all. Rest depends upon the likes of a rider, but Bajaj has finally pushed it beyond an average cruiser segment motorcycle.

How can I solve the problem of back pain as I recently bought a Bajaj Avenger 150 Street and the pain is spoiling my drives?
29 December 2022 06:08Although the Bajaj Avenger Street 150 comes with cushioned seats but yes there have been many complaints about the discomfort while riding. This is due to the improper positioning of the handlebars, seat and foot-peg. The handlebar are too far off from the rider. In case, the rider sits within the contours of the seat by placing his legs on the foot rest then a lot of stretch is required in order to reach the handlebar. This is a major reason of discomfort which has caused back pain. Try sitting slightly closer to the tank which may even cause a bit of discomfort but still help in easing pain.

Can I fix kick-starter in Bajaj Avenger 150 Street?
29 December 2022 06:04We cannot install kick starter in the Avenger 150cc bike. There's no point in doing this, firstly because your warranty will go void and secondly electronic technology has improved significantly and there's no need of a kickstart. Installing a tail end seat is possible. You can get the one seen on the Bajaj Avenger 220. The avenger 150cc is an affordable cruiser, it is powered by 149cc engine which delivers 14.3 BHP @ 9000 rpm and 12.5 NM @ 6500 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5 speed gearbox.

Which one should I buy: Bajaj Avenger 150 or Avenger 220?
29 December 2022 06:00Choosing an Avenger among 150 and 220 depends upon the motorcycling need of a rider. City driving is better with 150 as it consumes less fuel and provides adequate power whereas powerful highway rides are offered with the 220 cc engine of both the 220 Cruise and 220 Street. If you love cruisers and chrome, there is no other choice than 220 Cruise while dark themed Avengers can be selected according to the preference between economy and performance. The best looking shade on the bike is actually the Midnight Blue from 150 Street.

User Reviews for Bajaj Avenger
Avenger 150 has very bad performance
Mechanic at the service center looks inexperienced as he cannot even fix the pickup problem. Most buyers are facing the same problem
Best Features: Looks only
Pros: Looks only
Cons: Pickup is the worst ever experience
Worn out parts within 500 KMs
In my experience, and service engineers (k v motors, Kozhikode) direction, within 500Kms of running ,right hand gasket cover ( dh 101154) is worn out. while running how many times i change all these parts. So think twice before purchasing street 150. I complaint to their Email from my mail , No reply from their. So my humble request is to avoid Bajaj.
Best Features: Other than worn out parts
Pros: Looking, design,
Cons: Sub standard washers, cheating of dealers
Totally Actual Review About Best Cruiser Bike Under 1 Lac Budget
Version Reviewed - Avenger street 150 Purchased As - Brand new (01-01-2016) Distance Covered - 5538 Km till date (26-28-2016) Fuel Economy - 50 kmpl (Totally run in city traffic) Good - Looks, performance, handling, comfort, safety. Bad - No rear disc brake. No kick. I purchased my brand new avenger 150 street in 1st jan 2016 and till date I already clocked It around 5500 km done total running in Kanpur city Only. Exterior Aggressive front look and cool side look although rear tyre is small but decent could use a day light running lamp. Engine Performance: 14 PS power is good you can feel it when you accelerate it easily takes pick up (Not great as Apache, Gixxer) but even after you have reached triple speed figure effortless easy to drive in traffic and fun to cruise on highway. I tested the top speed of my avenger 150 twice on highway. at first it clock 112 km/hr and after second service it clocks at 115 km/hr. Fuel Economy: This is the best feature of this bike. and the only reason to submit my review also. before 1st service I got an average of around 35 kmpl in city. after 1st service mileage increased to 40-45 kmpl. But after 2nd service it reached to 55 kmpl in the hard city traffic. Guys believe me currently it giving me a healthy 55 kmpl mileage in a tight city traffic. I also tested mileage 3 times after 2nd service from reserve to reserve I take 100 rs fuel each time and my bike covered 78km, 81km, 80km on the three testing while the price of petrol in Kanpur is 65 Rs/ltr. Ride Quality & Handling: Ride Quality is very good you don't get tired even after long city driving. Handling is very good very reactive and cornering can be done with confidence. only the turning radius is too large compare to other. it creates some problem in city traffic. Final Words: Overall a very very good package for a fair price deal under the 1 lac segment.
Best Features: Look, comfort, mileage, uniqueness
Pros: Looks, ride comfort, mileage
Cons: No disc brake in rear wheel, no kick, no storage
Solid & Hardcore
I bought the Avenger 150 model last week. The bike as a whole is absolutely fantastic. I found the short pick-up to be a bit less, but that's not what you are looking for in this bike, & in no way that is a disadvantage. Comfort level, top notch .. balance, top notch. Also, the problem with a big turning radius owing to much wider handle-bar for the Cruise model has been largely taken care of in the Street models. In short, if you want to go for speed, you have the Pulsars .. for everything else, you have the Avengers.
Best Features: Suspension, comparatively lighter chassis, back wheel-base.
Pros: Power, comfort, balance.
Cons: Absence of kick.
Amazing
Totally very good. But only colour where I disappointed. Bike has amazing seat comfort and looks. While riding the bike really I feel like king.
Best Features: Seating Position
Pros: Amazing Looks
Cons: I expected more colours but only colour in Street 150 which makes me nervous
