What modern features would you want to see if Yamaha brought back the RX 135?
27 January 2025 12:53
Honestly, just make it meet emissions and stick an ABS on it. That should be it, everything else stays the same. Why fix what isn't broken?
So what’s your best (or worst) memory of riding a Yamaha RX 135?
27 January 2025 12:53
Best memory? The day I learned to wheelie. Worst memory? Later that same day I looped it and bent the handlebars. Worth it though!
Is the Yamaha RX 135 really the 'King of the Streets' or is it just nostalgia, overhyped?
27 January 2025 12:53
I have owned both and I honestly had more fun with the RX, but my new bike is much more practical. The RX is that crazy ex you can't forget but you know you shouldn't go back to.
Have you seen the craziest mod on a Yamaha RX 135?
27 January 2025 12:53
I saw one at a show with the electric motor in place of the engine. It was pretty cool to see the old meets new concept, but purists were losing their minds.
Will the XSR300 be good for a beginner?
27 January 2025 10:16
I believe it will make a nice beginner bike. A newb should find the upright riding position just fine and the 300cc engine will be manageable. Also, it’ll be cool enough that you won’t feel like you’re riding a ‘learner’ bike.
Will the XSR300 carry the torch of the RD350?
27 January 2025 10:16
There's no way it'll live up to the RD350. That bike was lightning in a bottle, something special made at a special time, and it can’t be done today with all the modern restrictions. The RD350 will never have that raw, wild character, but the XSR300 might be good.
How customizable will the XSR300 be?
27 January 2025 10:16
Half the fun of owning a retro style bike is the amount of customization it allows for! The XSR300 will be designed accordingly and I’m sure that Yamaha knows this. I can't wait to see what people will do with it.
Is the Yamaha XSR300 worth the wait?
27 January 2025 10:16
It all depends on what you’re looking for. Maybe if you’re dead set on that retro Yamaha look and feel. However, the motorcycle market is moving so quickly that by the time it's out, there could be better options. Honestly.
Against established retro bikes, how will the XSR300 fare?
27 January 2025 10:16
The XSR300 is going to blow the competition out of the water, I think. They’ve had time to learn from other people’s mistakes and Yamaha’s engineering is among the best, as shown in their products. It’ll still nail the classic look, but it’ll probably have better performance than most retro bikes.
So, what’s one thing you would have changed if Yamaha had to do it again with the FZ16 (FZ V1)?
27 January 2025 08:08
Had they given it a bit more power, I wish. It's great for city riding, but feels a bit underpowered on highways, don't get me wrong. 1-2 bhp more would have made a big difference.
Which is your favourite memory with your Yamaha FZ16 (FZ V1)?
27 January 2025 08:08
I remember when I taught my younger brother to ride on my FZ—it was the best. It was great to see him go from nervous to confident on the bike. The FZ was an easy handling and perfect for a beginner.
How does the Yamaha FZ16 (FZ V1) ride against modern 150cc bikes?
27 January 2025 08:08
That depends on what you're after. The FZ V1 brings a more connected riding experience. You are more in touch with the machine. Modern, or if you prefer, new bikes are the way to go if you want convenience and all the features.
Is Yamaha FZ16 (FZ V1) worth buying in 2025?
27 January 2025 08:08
It’s totally worth it if you can find one in good condition. It’s for a reason that the FZ V1 has its cult following. It’s comfortable, it handles well, and it has that special character you don’t get with modern bikes.
I have a Yamaha FZ16 (FZ V1). What's the best mod you've done to it?
27 January 2025 08:08
The best mod I’ve done, hands down, is installing a performance exhaust. The stock one is too quiet, and too restrictive. A good aftermarket exhaust really wakes up the engine and you can hear it nicely growl.
Is the X-MAX 125 too big and too heavy for new riders?
24 January 2025 09:52
I'd say it's borderline. Tech features like ABS make for an easygoing ride for beginners, but its size requires it to be more careful in tight spots. If you can handle it, that's great.
Is the X-MAX 125 worth its high price tag because of the tech features it offers?
24 January 2025 09:52
It's a tough call. It's great to have those features, on one hand. On the flip side, you could make the case that learning on a less advanced scooter actually helps you become a better rider.
Is the Yamaha XMAX 125 the hype for city commuting?
24 January 2025 09:52
Absolutely! The X-MAX 125 is the perfect city-riding bike. It is larger in size, and that makes it more stable and comfortable, especially on long commutes. Plus, it provides additional storage space, which is a game changer for carrying work stuff or groceries.
Electric scooters for eco-conscious riders: How does the X MAX 125 compare?
24 January 2025 09:52
It's not just about emissions. The X-MAX is more practical for longer rides and doesn’t depend on charging infrastructure. Gas scooters still have a place until electric scooters can match that convenience.
Will the XSR300 be moddable as much as the original RD350?
24 January 2025 08:36
I'm optimistic. It's understandable, Yamaha knows their audience for this bike. Even if it's not as open as the old two-strokes, they'll probably build it with some kind of customization in mind.
Could the XSR300 bring back the 'Race Developed' spirit in everyday riding?
24 January 2025 08:36
I think it could, just in different ways. The spirit of the "Race Developed" today, however, is more about precision and control than raw power. The XSR300 could nail that.
