Is the X-MAX 125 too big and too heavy for new riders?
Many see the Yamaha X-MAX 125 as a big 125cc scooter with that size and weight making it feel and ride well. These attributes, while offering a sensation of comfort and security, may as well be questioning the abilities of scooters to accommodate novice riders. One clear drawback to the X-MAX is that, at just over 170 kg, it’s much heavier than most other 125cc offerings, which can be tough to control for smaller or less experienced riders at low speeds and when parking. The debate has kicked off as to whether new riders are better off with lighter, more manageable scooters to grow their confidence or if the X-MAX's stability and features make it a safer choice even though it is bigger. In addition, the scooter's physical dimensions are discussed, which may intimidate some, and whether its maxi scooter styling is suitable for new riders on two wheels.
Not at all! In fact, the extra weight makes it more stable and easier to ride. Being larger than smaller scooters, it’s less twitchy, which is good for building confidence.
