Is the resale value of a Skoda Octavia a concern?
07 January 2025 05:33
I was worried about this but after 3 years mine is worth more than I expected. It's weird in the market right now though.
Is the Skoda Octavia DSG gearbox a time bomb waiting to go off?
07 January 2025 05:33
It's definitely a concern. On my 2014 model, I had to shell out big bucks for a DSG repair. If you’re buying used, then you also need to factor in the potential repair costs.
Does the European styling and driving dynamics of the Skoda Kylaq excuse its premium over more feature loaded rivals?
07 January 2025 05:29
If you are going to keep the car for a long time, I would say it’s worth it. The feature laden but less refined alternative will probably age less gracefully than the build quality and driving experience.
The first question is will the 1.0 TSI engine of the Skoda Kylaq be enough for Indian driving conditions or will the buyers miss a more powerful option.
07 January 2025 05:29
In fact, I like the 1.0 TSI better. Driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slow, and the Kylaq with this engine is plenty zippy for most situations.
Do you get what you pay for in the Skoda Kylaq’s interior?
07 January 2025 05:29
I disagree. I went to the showroom and checked it out and it's nice to look at but there is still a lot of hard plastic. At the price they're asking, I expected more. In cheaper options like the Hyundai Venue or Kia Sonet you can get similar quality.
What are the chances of the Skoda Kylaq matching Maruti and Hyundai in after sales service?
07 January 2025 05:29
It’s getting there, but let’s face it, it’s going to take years for them to build the kind of trust and network that Maruti and Hyundai have. Service concerns will hold back the Kylaq, though it might be great.
Let’s compare the Kushaq’s infotainment system with that of rivals like Creta and Seltos.
07 January 2025 05:16
It’s not overly complicated, which I actually like. It’s easy to get distracted by too many features. The system in the Kushaq offers me what I need without drowning me in options I will never use.
Is the premium the Kushaq commands over its rivals worth it for its build quality and long term reliability?
07 January 2025 05:16
I’m not sure it depends on your priorities. The Kushaq is an excellent car if you want one that feels premium and enjoy driving. If, however, peace of mind and low running costs are your priorities, then look elsewhere.
With the launch of the Kylaq, is the Skoda Kushaq 1.0 TSI becoming obsolete?
07 January 2025 05:16
Skoda is not obsolete; they just need to do more. Perhaps, cut back some features or bring the price down a little, to keep up with the competition. The Kylaq are really putting some pressure on them.
On Indian roads, how does the Kushaq ride quality compare to its competitors?
07 January 2025 05:16
The ride is fine, but I would have liked for Skoda to have tuned it a bit softer for India. It's sometimes like they just copied the European setup without taking our roads into account.
Are the AC cooling issues reported on the Kushaq a dealbreaker?
07 January 2025 05:16
I know this because I live in Chennai and it just doesn't have the AC to handle really hot days. Neither is it a dealbreaker for me, but it's definitely an area Skoda needs to improve.
Is the Tata Magic IRIS culturally significant in terms of Indian automotive engineering?
06 January 2025 12:26
That's significant because it solves a problem that's uniquely Indian. Its looks aren't what makes it culturally important, but that.
Can the Tata Magic IRIS be a practical solution to last mile connectivity in Indian cities?
06 January 2025 12:26
It's a mixed bag. It’s great for rural areas, but cities will have to deal with more traffic chaos. We don't need more vehicles; we need better urban planning.
Are traditional auto rickshaw drivers losing out to the Tata Magic IRIS which is unfairly taking their business?
06 January 2025 12:26
Both have their place. Autos are better for personal point to point travel and Magic IRIS is better for shared routes.
Could the Tata Magic IRIS be a successful electric vehicle for urban use?
06 January 2025 12:26
Definitely! It’s the right size and urban use for electric conversion. It could be a game changer for clean city transport.
Is the Lykan Hypersport's $3.4 million price tag actually justified?
06 January 2025 12:08
Partially justified. A lot of it is the engineering and the exclusivity, but there is definitely a 'hype tax' in there.
Could the Lykan Hypersport have been more successful if it had not been limited to 7 units?
06 January 2025 12:08
Perhaps the balance between exclusivity and presence would have been better with a slightly larger run of maybe 25 50 cars.
Is the Lykan Hypersport a real supercar or a really expensive gag prop?
06 January 2025 12:08
It is suspicious that there are no performance videos. They even have footage of even rare cars such as a Koenigseggs proving their capabilities.
Are the Lykan Hypersports’ diamond encrusted headlights something practical, or just bling bling?
06 January 2025 12:08
The LEDs are actually inside the housing of the LED, so they are actually serving a purpose other than making things look all flashy.
Does the Lykan Hypersport's appearance in "Fast and Furious 7" do it any favors or hurt its credibility?
06 January 2025 12:08
It definitely hurts. The fact that you were in that movie makes that car seem like a fantasy car, not a real performance machine.
