Are the AC cooling issues reported on the Kushaq a dealbreaker?
Some Skoda Kushaq owners have complained about air conditioning not being cool enough in the scorching Indian summer. This has become a big issue for potential buyers and current owners. Others say AC can’t do its job fast or effectively to keep the cabin comfortable, especially during peak summer month, or while sitting in the sun. Some say those problems were isolated cases or they’ve been worked out in newer models. The discussion also includes whether it's the way they respond as Skoda customer service or some (car) unit driven issue. This is a hot topic, and often leads to wider conversations about the need for efficient climate control in Indian conditions, and how well European car makers adapt their systems to tropical climates.
I’ve had my Kushaq for a year now and to be honest, the AC has been fine. It's not the coldest I've ever been in, but it does the job even in Delhi summers.
The AC issues are real and they are a big problem. Already twice I’ve had to take my car to the service center. In this price range, it is disappointing.
I don't think it's been blown out of proportion. It's not as freezing cold as some Japanese cars, but it's fine. In extreme heat people need to give it time to cool down.
I know this because I live in Chennai and it just doesn't have the AC to handle really hot days. Neither is it a dealbreaker for me, but it's definitely an area Skoda needs to improve.
I was concerned about this before purchase and my 2024 model does not have any AC issues. Perhaps Skoda have sorted it in newer batches?
AC performance is ok, but not great. I thought a European car would be better. While it’s not a dealbreaker, it’s certainly a con to remember.
I believe it’s all about your expectations. If you’re coming from a car with a super powerful AC, you might be underwhelmed. It's perfectly fine for me, though.
