The reason I reckon is because people started moving to either basic 100cc bikes or more powerful 125cc+ bikes. The 100T sat awkwardly in the middle.

Maybe it was too good? If it lasted too long, there were fewer repeat customers. Planned obsolescence and all that corporate nonsense.
