When buying a motorcycle, you need to consider things such as power delivery when fully loaded, comfort for the pillion rider on longer journeys, stability and handling with the weight, and if fuel efficiency is hit hard. Is there anything that can improve two up riding? We constantly take our Discover 100 4G on the weekend trips with my girlfriend. For both of us, it’s surprisingly comfortable, even on 2-3 hour rides. The long seat really helps. Yes, it's not the fastest, however, with two people, it will get the job done and sip fuel even with the extra weight.

I wouldn't recommend it for regular two up riding. It’s strained on inclines and the brakes aren’t confidence inspiring with two people. After a few scary moments on highway rides we ended up upgrading to a 150cc bike. For short city trips it’s fine, but anything more than that is pushing it.

But if you're fine with going easy and ain’t worried about using the fast lane, then the Discover 100 4G can make for a great, value for money choice, as long as we're talking about couples. It's been great, we've done plenty of scenic rides. Expect to have a hard time keeping up with bigger bikes on the highway, though.

With a few mods we've made it work. I upgraded the rear suspension, added a backrest for the pillion, and put on slightly wider tires. The comfort and stability being plus is its big difference. Still not ideal for long highway stretches, but perfect for exploring nearby towns and villages.

For short trips, the Discover 100 4G is okay as a pillion rider, but anything over an hour is too much. There's a bit of a high footpeg and you feel every bump. If you’re on a tight budget it’s fine, but I’d save up for something with better suspension and a more relaxed riding position.

That really depends on your combined weight. We are both pretty light, so we don't have problems. And when I ride with my heavier friend the bike definitely struggles on hills. Think about the terrain you’ll be riding on and what body type you have.

Ours are used for two up daily commuting and have been great. It was super fuel efficient even with the two of us, and nimble enough to weave through traffic. All I did was adjust the tire pressure and get used to the slightly different handling. It's more than adequate for couples, and more than adequate for city use.
