Yamaha X-Max 125 Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Yamaha X-Max is a 125cc premium scooter that comes with a liquid cooled and fuel injected motor, producing 14.1 BHP of max power and 11.94 Nm of torque. It comes mated to an automatic gearbox and comes with a huge 13.2 litres of a fuel tank. It weighs quite high at 169 kg and carries a practical 140/70-14 rear wheel. The front wheel carries 267 mm disc brake while the rear uses 245 mm disc, both mated to standard ABS. It rivals Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125, Vespa SXL 125 and Mahindra Gusto 125 but may never make it to the Indian market due to feasibility issues. These power scooters do not have a market here in India. The pricing of these machines will put some real performance bikes to shame and thus, a number of buyers will witness a sharp decline. X-Max 125 looks more like a litre class scooter as it is huge and carries traditional Yamaha design that symbolizes aerodynamics and power.
Alloy wheel design looks inspired by bigger motorcycles while exhaust design is decent and not at all overdone. Front flaunts smoked headlights and huge windshield to protect the rider from windblast during occasional high-speed rides. The huge size is described clearly by its dimensions. X-Max 125 measures 2160 mm in length, 790 mm in width and 1385 mm in height. Seat height is 792 mm while ground clearance on offer is just 125mm. This is another factor that won’t make it an India specific product. This low ground clearance value will simply put the rider into stress around huge speed breakers and potholes of the cities. Fuel tank capacity is quite impressive at 13.2 litres while most scooters of this class carry a 5-litre fuel tank. X-Max 125 is internationally available in Matt Grey, Midnight Black and Absolute White shade.

Yamaha X-Max 125 Comments
This is a cheap copy of the XMAX 300 available worldwide, so typical of Yamaha India, although not so for other Asia countries like Korea, Thailand and Indonesia. Marketing strategy in India are still to sell the cheapest product to get the highest sales volume, despite the profitability of niche markets and the fact that the Indian middle class has the income to buy premium models such as expensive cars and big CC motorcycles. Why put such a small 125cc engine in such a heavy scooter at 178 kg, plus with two heavyweight passengers (which most Indians are becoming), good luck? With newer Indian scooters coming out with 150cc engines, I would think Yamaha would match this, the same mistake I believe Suzuki Burgman made. It will be slower than my present scooter, TVS NTorq 125 which has a lighter weight with greater handling, so why trade up? Also they replaced the high quality analog instrument panel with the cheaper digital. Please note readers contrary to popular belief that most all high quality motorcycles and cars retain analogue for their speedometers and tachometers, which are easier to read to compare speed and RPMs. Also Yamaha has eliminated the Smart Key as well as the Traction Control System featured on the XMAX 300, and perhaps more. So compared to the XMAX 300, this is a little disappointing, although the 125 still has some nice features. Also, expect the fuel economy to be around 35 kpl. Personally I would never buy a big scooter like this with such a small engine. But perhaps it will be suitable for some riders.
Super bike ,plz tell me on road price list
I want to buy and ship Yamaha X-max 125 to Libya. so i want to know the procedures and the how much does it cost. can anyone help me please? my Email is [email protected]
Vespa scooter I am using is obsolete and considering a new brand. After reading reviews and customer opinions around the world my inclination for Yamaha X MAX goes high. It would be appreciated Yamaha launches its X Max without any delay in Indian Market for capturing scooter segment from Honda.
Honda is launching PCX in 2 months, Hero is launching PIX in 2 months. Yamaha will lose again in scooter market with these two players having early bird advantage. Poor marketing
very nice. i need details about launching date. and it is comfort for ladies.
ha ha.. Yamaha is out of there mind.. They r giving 240 mm disc in rear... Dat also in a 125 cc scooter.. Better they fit those disc in fz series ...
Its look similar to previous 'Kinetic Blaze'. Plz check style again and then introduce it to market.
