Yamaha FZS V3 Review

Overview

Yamaha FZS V3: Here’s My Unvarnished Opinion of an Abracadabra Commuter Vehicle

The Yamaha FZS V3 makes me feel like that friend, who is always there for us, looks good, and expects nothing in return. As soon as I climbed aboard it was obvious that this bike is not here to nail drags or steal the lime light at a bike show. It is intended to be your daily commuter that not only can make your daily rides comfortable and stylish but will do that without causing a ruckus. But if you’re like me a person who deals with work bicycles and weekend getaways, then this bicycle makes the cut.

Why Yamaha FZS V3 is Special

The first thing that stuck me about this FZS V3 was it gives out a daring and muscular look. Yamaha’s design team has done it fantastically well by providing the bike a muscular fuel tank, edged tail end and a strong look that screams, I am here for business’. It is not special in any way, but it doesn’t have to be that way. LED headlights look great, modern the design is both sporty and conservative at the same time. It is a bike that can be parked beside a café as well as it can race in the intercity traffic.

Key Specs at a Glance

Feature:Details

Engine: 149cc, fuel-injected

Power: 12.4 PS at 7,250 RPM

Torque: 13.3 Nm at 5,500 RPM

Weight: 135 kg

Mileage: 45-50 km/l (real-world)

Price: Rs.1.15 lakh (ex-showroom)

They’re not going to impress any performance junkie, but they are ideal for anyone in search of a comfortable and trouble-free ride. Sometimes it is like a good cup of tea something you can always rely on and which somehow gets you through the day.

FZS V3: My Experience

When riding the FZS V3 it felt like putting on a pair of old shoes, you are comfortable. Firstly, the erect sitting posture and wider handlebars together with an optimally balanced chassis enabled me to face my daily trips without stress. From this, I realized that even as I sat in bumper to bumper traffic the manageability of the bike was incredible.

Performance That Is Both Unpredictable but Reliable

Nothing blazes with incredible power, but that is not what is expected from a bike with this 149cc engine. It makes it deliver power smoothly, no joy rides, which is perfect for city duty. It is easily manoeuvrable in traffic and the power is very manageable. On highways, it goes steady until 85 km/h and seems a little labored if one decides to floor it. It’s not designed for those who have a lead leg, and that’s just fine.

Comfort That Lasts

I’ve taken the FZS V3 on hour-long rides, and my back thanked me for it. Sitting position is correct like when typing; your arms are more relaxed in fact, your whole body feels comfortable. The sculpting of the seat is fair for the rider, though I did hear some minor complaining from my pillion about the space offered. But if you often travel, mainly as a passenger, you must take this into account.

Technology That’s Just Right

The LCD console is not complicated at all, far from it, and it provides all those aspects of a ride that are important to most boaters – speed, fuel and trip information. That is very practical for me because it is not populated with a bunch of unnecessary stuffs. The LED headlight is very essential on those one, two or three o’clock in the morning kind of rides. This is because it makes poorly lit roads and streets much easer to work with without dazzling the driver at all.

My Final Take: A Bicycle designed for the Daily Use

The Yamaha FZS V3 is that familiar companion one runs into years later but now spruced up, and looking better than ever. It is not after to appear flashy through gimmicks or have an impressive spec list, but focuses on what matters most; comfort, style and reliability. It’s just what I would need in my working life, some chores errands and sometimes the long weekend fun ride.

Would I recommend it? Of course, if you’re considering a daily driver that is manageable, stylish, and affordable to maintain. What about you? Does the FZS V3 look like your cup of tea or are you looking forward to something which delivers a little more punch? Talking is over—what do you think?

The bike appeals to riders of all ages. Beginner-friendly bike. The power delivery doesn't scare you but has enough oomph. Capable to cruise at 100 kmph . You can roam in the city even at 5th gear. At around 4k rpm you can feel the torque rush. Very comfortable seat( both Rider and pillion ). Mileage is great for a 250cc (33 and 40kmpl at city and highway respectively) Although lightweight, it gives you a big bike feel due to the fuel tank. Instrument console could have been bigger but you will get used to it. Headlamp illumination is ok for city use although being an LED. Auxiliary lamps would help it for highway rides at night The suspension is set towards comfort side Tyres although wide enough, not recommended for hardcore cornering. Pricing is the BOMB here. It's cheaper than R15 and MT 15.

made by Yamaha. It's Japanese, end of the argument. Yes, there are other cool bikes in the price range. But This machine will keep running while other brands bikes are guaranteed to blow up at some point since that seems to be happening everywhere.

Pros: Well built quality & refined engine. Fat rear tyres

Suddenly I noticed a review video on YouTube about headlight and instrument console. Yamaha shows that their focus is on money and performance. The instrument console is so odd that Hero Glamour's console is much better than this one.

Best Features: 46 teeth sprocket

Pros: looks, handling.

Cons: low hp, worst headlight, stupid instrument console

A Good Option, But strictly for Yamaha fans!

The Yamaha FZ25 is a very decent offering, a first of a kind in the segment. It is powered by a 249 cc engine which generates a maximum power of 20.69 bhp @ 8000 rpm and gives out a maximum torque of 20 Nm @ 6000 rpm. Also being priced at INR 1,19,500 ( ex-showroom Delhi ) it is a pretty affordable value for money option. Although the bike is no match for the performance of Benelli TNT 25 in the 250 cc segment, it costs 60K less then it's Benelli rival.Yamaha FZ25 is strictly for the fans of the brand and the followers of Yamaha FZ series. Other features such as LED headlamps and tail lamps add to the value of the bike. But I believe that the bike could have been made to look a little bulkier just like the classic FZ-16. All in all the bike does not disappoint either at this price.

Best Features: Digital Instrument Console, Oil cooled Fi Technology Engine, LED Headlamps

Pros: Pricing, Fi Technology, Digital Instrument Console, Mileage

Cons: Lack of an ABS, Less Than Bulky Looks, Performance not upto the mark
