USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition is a compelling option for those seeking a blend of sporty performance and everyday practicality. This bike stands out with its aggressive and muscular design, which has been refined over the years to maintain its appeal. The engine, derived from TVSs racing program, offers good performance at higher revs, making it enjoyable for fast rides, although it can feel a bit peaky in urban traffic. The bikes handling is nimble and agile, particularly in corners, thanks to its short wheelbase and well-tuned suspension. However, the front-end can feel a bit unsteady at high speeds, and the brakes, while adequate, could offer better feedback. The feature list is extensive, including a fully digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and ride modes that help manage power and torque. Overall, its a solid choice for riders looking for a sporty yet practical 160cc bike, though the design may feel a bit outdated to some.
Price
The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition is priced at Rs. 1.29 Lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which places it in a competitive segment of the Indian market. When you factor in the additional costs such as RTO, insurance, and other expenses, the on-road price comes to around Rs. 1.50 Lakh in Delhi. This pricing makes it a viable option for those who want a feature-rich and performance-oriented bike without breaking the bank. However, its worth noting that the top-end variant is priced close to the more powerful Apache RTR 160 4V, which might make the 2V variant seem less value-for-money to some buyers.
TVS Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition on road price is Rs 1.48 lakh in Delhi, Rs 1.53 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 1.50 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 1.52 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest TVS dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.

This new variant features a unique matte black color scheme with grey graphics and racing red stripes, along with carbon fiber treatment on body panels. Wednesday, 10 July 2024 04:33 PM The Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition retains the same mechanical specifications as the standard model, including a 159.7cc single-cylinder engine that produces 15.82 bhp and 13.85 Nm of torque. It also features an LCD digital instrument panel with Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlamp and taillamp, and three riding modes – Sport, Urban, and Rain. I believe these features make it a solid choice for both daily commuting and occasional spirited rides.

The bike is part of TVSs Track to Road philosophy, combining sporty aesthetics with practical features like Glide Through Technology (GTT) and turn-by-turn navigation. Wednesday, 10 July 2024 10:25 AM The Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition is mechanically unchanged from the previous top-end variant but stands out with its new color scheme and carbon fiber decals. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and features a suspension setup with telescopic forks and gas-charged twin shock absorbers. I believe the addition of these visual elements will appeal to riders looking for a unique bike.
Wednesday, 10 July 2024 12:27 AM TVS has positioned the Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition as the most expensive variant in the RTR 160 lineup, priced Rs. 1,500 more than the standard Apache RTR 160. Despite the price hike, the bike offers a compelling package with its sporty design and advanced features. I think its worth the extra cost for those who value both style and performance.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 05:52 AM The TVS Apache RTR 160 2V Racing Edition delivers a commendable mileage, making it a practical choice for daily commuting. In real-world tests, the bike has shown mileage outputs of around 45.06 kmpl in city conditions and 46.99 kmpl on the highway. This efficiency is partly due to the TVS Glide Through Technology (GTT) and the ride modes that allow you to adjust the power and torque output according to your riding conditions. The sweet spot for the bike is between 80-90 kmph, where it offers a good balance of performance and fuel efficiency. While it may not be the most fuel-efficient bike in its class, it strikes a good balance between performance and economy. On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges.

Style: It's a beautifully crafted beast, when you just sit on the bike you feel like you are in a Race. Engine Performance, Fuel Economy and Gearbox: It's loaded with 160CC powerful RTR engine that you can really feel it. And fuel economy is good! I have just done with 2nd service (today) and so far I have got 60kmpl riding around 55km/hr and had never crossed 60km/hr.. but today I was really exited and happy to ride my beast at its best, I really enjoyed the pickup, speed, thrill.... coming to gearbox it lags (some times), it is smooth while the up shifts and stuck while down shifts and have to slow down the bike for down shifts but this is a common problem in all bike range. Ride Quality & Handling: Ride quality and Handling is extremely good.. but rear tyre slips when you brake, you might have to use good quality tyres. Areas of improvement: Riding comfort as riders get back ache, tyres, gearbox

Best Features: RTR, dashboard has many options, etc

Pros: Good performance, stylish, fuel economy, ride quality

Cons: Comfort, gearbox
