Suzuki GSX-R1000Z

About
The Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a legendary sports bike that has been a benchmark in its segment for many years. The latest models feature a 999.8cc inline four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing (VVT), producing over 200 horsepower. The bike is known for its aggressive yet comfortable riding position, making it suitable for both track and street riding. The suspension is highly adjustable, with options like the Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) and the advanced Showa Balance Free Forks (BFF) on the R version, providing excellent handling and stability. The electronics package includes a three-axis IMU, traction control, ABS, and multiple riding modes, enhancing both performance and safety. The GSX-R1000 also features a slipper clutch and rear-wheel lift mitigation technology. With its robust aluminum frame, narrow fuel tank, and aerodynamically designed bodywork, this bike is a testament to Suzukis engineering prowess, offering a blend of power, agility, and comfort that makes it a favorite among serious motorcyclists.

USER OPINION

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a powerhouse of a motorcycle that has stood the test of time. From my experience, this bike is a marvel of engineering, offering phenomenal performance and a riding experience that is hard to match. The 999.8cc inline four-cylinder engine, equipped with Variable Valve Timing (VVT), delivers smooth and powerful performance across the entire RPM range. The bikes handling is exceptional, thanks to its robust aluminum frame and advanced suspension systems, such as the Showa Big Piston Fork (BPF) and the optional Showa Balance Free Forks (BFF) on the R version. While it may lack some of the modern electronic aids in its older iterations, the newer models have caught up with a three-axis IMU-based electronics package, including traction control, ABS, and multiple riding modes. However, the high maintenance cost and the need for skilled handling, especially in the absence of advanced electronics in older models, are factors to consider. Overall, the GSX-R1000 is a bike that will thrill experienced riders but may not be the best choice for beginners.
Price
In India, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 and its R version come with a significant price tag. The base model GSX-R1000 is priced around Rs 19,00,000 ex-showroom in Delhi, while the more advanced GSX-R1000R, with its additional features like quick-shifter, launch control, and cornering ABS, is priced at around Rs 22,00,000 ex-showroom. On-road prices can vary depending on the state and local taxes, but you can expect to add another Rs 2-3 lakhs to the ex-showroom price. While these prices are steep, they reflect the high-performance capabilities and advanced technology integrated into these bikes. For serious enthusiasts and track riders, the extra cost for the R version may be justified by the enhanced performance and safety features.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 04:38 PM When it comes to mileage, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 is not designed for fuel efficiency but for raw power and performance. In real-world conditions, you can expect a mileage of around 10-15 kml, which is typical for high-performance litre-class bikes. This, combined with the high maintenance costs, means that running this bike can be expensive. However, for those who prioritize performance over economy, the GSX-R1000s capabilities make it a worthwhile choice.

Mixed feelings about my GSX-8R. Love the looks and engine character, but the seat gets uncomfortable on long rides. Fuel efficiency isn't great getting only about 20 km/l in city traffic. Electronics package is good, but the quickshifter can be clunky at low speeds. Still it is a head-turner!

Yeah, its price is high but it is worth much more than that. It's amazing using the beast. I assure you that you will not regret the purchase. And yeah its mileage varies with speed but it is affordable. If you are a bike lover and want a beast for long roots or for short I may recommend this beast.

Best Bike

Best bike for the price... Nice sporty ride. Gear shifting is very soft. Nice pickup. This bike is for tall riders because short persons should bend for the handle bar...It will be difficult for long rides. And the service cost is reasonable and this bike is best for my daily uses and long trips. Finally, just buy it and enjoy the thrill.

Since I was just stepping into the world of motorcycling, I needed a reliable entry-level supersport bike that could cater to my riding skills. I tried out many bikes, but some of them were very expensive, and the others lacked the features I desired. After days of test riding and comparing the different bikes, I purchased the Suzuki GSX-R150, and it has been an ideal choice. The bike's balanced weight distribution and low seat height make it easy to ride at any speed. It is also feature rich and makes riding fun.
