Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X Review
Quick Review by Maxabout Team
Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is one of the most popular bikes in India. While it may not enjoy the same fame as its Classic sibling, the bike has become quite well-received among the bikers who take on adventure riding road trips. The bike is quite stunning to look at and it can easily catch the attention of the onlookers on road. The build quality of the bike is also quite good since Royal Enfield is known to make quality products.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is powered by a 346cc Single Cylinder, 4 stroke, twinspark, air cooled petrol motor that produces a maximum power of 19.8 hp and a peak torque of 28 Nm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox that allows the bike to provide a mileage of around 35-40 kmpl. The engine is quite good for cruising and the bike comes loaded with features too. The bike comes with an electric start, ensuring that you get all the convenience while starting the engine.
The Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is built on a single downtube framework that has the engine as the stressed member. The bike is supported by 90/90-19, 52P MRF Zapper FM and 120/80-18, 62P MRF Zapper C tires on the front and rear, respectively. The suspension duties are handled by 41mm telescopic forks with 130mm of travel at the front and twin gas charged shock absorbers with 5-step adjustable preload with 80mm of travel at the rear.
There is a projector headlamp on the front and LED tail lamp with position light guides. The instrument console on the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X is hybrid analogue-digital, with the analogue speedometer and tachometer, and digital trip meter and fuel gauge. Other features include Dual Disc Brakes, Informative Instrument Console, Tubeless Tyres, and Alloy Wheels.

FAQs
-
Is it worth modifying a Thunderbird 350X for better performance in 2025?
13 January 2025 09:56Instead of outright performance, I'd say focus on quality of life mods. There are things that can be done to make a big difference without sacrificing reliability, such as better lighting, improved ergonomics, and luggage options.
-
How comfortable is the Thunderbird 350X by 2025 compared to modern cruisers?
13 January 2025 09:56The cruisers are definitely raising the bar in modern times. Adjustable suspension and electronic ride modes make a world of difference on long rides. If I compare it to the current Thunderbird, as it feels dated.
-
Is Maintenance and Reliability a deal breaker with the Thunderbird 350X in 2025?
13 January 2025 09:56I have owned both old and new REs and there is a night and day difference in reliability. The Thunderbird needs a lot more attention and a lot more frequent fixes. It’s charming, but as a daily rider, it can be frustrating.
-
The Thunderbird 350X, is it really worth the nostalgia factor in 2025?
13 January 2025 09:56If you’re into the classic RE vibe, it’s absolutely worth it. It’s not the smoothest ride out there, but that’s part of the fun. It lacks modern bells and whistles, but the thumping engine note and head turning looks more than make up for it.
-
In 2025, how does the Thunderbird 350X fare for long distance touring?
13 January 2025 09:56I’ve done a couple of long tours on my Thunderbird and it’s been great. Yes, it's not as refined as the newer bikes, but if something were to go wrong it's easy and reliable to fix. If you don’t want to, just invest in some good aftermarket accessories.
User Reviews for Royal Enfield Thunderbird X
Owner of Thunder 350X White
I love to ride this, usually ride on hills. It's has given me the pride to ride Thunder Bird 350X. This Bullet ride is really amazing, Add On : 1.) I had little changes in Seat (Which Original seat is not a comfort for long Rides) I made a cushion with my Seat Modifier. 2.) Add on Backrest for Pillion Rider. 3.) Handle Cross Bar for Load balancing and less vibration feel on Handle Bar.
Best Features: Handling of this Bullet
Pros: I Love its look
Cons: They must have to give a 6th Gear
