Our take on this /// Verdict
The Royal Enfield Interceptor is a one of a kind bike with a perfect mix of vintage and contemporary designs. This is appealing as it has a long history which makes it popular amongst the riders. It is a little bit heavy at times, which may justify why the smooth ride and pretty design are able to compensate for that. At an effective price tag, this bike is well suited for those who love strolling and discovering fresh destinations. As long as there is an Interceptor on the street, the ride will be more than pleasant for both the professional and the novice.

Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |

FAQs
-
How does the Interceptor 350 fair against the Meteor 350 for daily commuting?
13 January 2025 06:36For every day use I'd pick the Meteor. It helps keep your back and wrists more relaxed because it's easier to ride in a relaxed position when you wait at those long traffic lights. Plus it has a lower seat height, which is good for those that are shorter.
-
Are aftermarket parts and modifications really needed to upgrade the performance of the Interceptor 350?
13 January 2025 06:36A first rule I'd say is to focus on ergonomic mods. Most things that will make you enjoy riding more than you currently do are things like a more comfortable seat or adjustable levers that will annoy no one other than you.
-
How is the Interceptor 350 as a long term ownership proposition?
13 January 2025 06:36It's been rock solid, I've had mine for 3 years now. But it's not any more demanding than other bikes I’ve owned and regular maintenance is key. These new RE engines are much more reliable than their old reputation would have you believe.
-
Is the Royal Enfield Interceptor 350 a good beginner bike?
13 January 2025 06:36It depends on the rider. If you are a bigger person or have some experience on smaller bikes then go for it! However, if you’re petite, or if you’re a complete novice to two wheels, you may prefer to start with something a bit more manageable.
-
How is the Interceptor 350 made for long distance touring?
13 January 2025 06:36The Interceptor 350 has been great, I've done a few 500+ mile trips and it's been great! I am comfortable all day in the upright seating position. All you need to do is add a windscreen and some soft luggage and you’re ready to roll.
-
Is the Interceptor 650 a really good daily commuter?
10 January 2025 12:29It's been over a year that I've been daily riding my Interceptor, and to be honest, it's been great. It has a super smooth engine, an upright comfortable position, and handles city traffic like a champ. It’s a bit heavy, but you get used to it after a bit. It's not an amazing fuel efficiency, but it's not terrible. I'd say go for it!
-
How does the Interceptor 650 fare as a two-up tourer?
10 January 2025 12:29I've tried it stock and modified and I'd say it's decent but not great for two up. The bigger issue for me is that there aren't luggage options. If you’re riding with a passenger, you probably are going to want some stuff, and the Interceptor is pretty limited in that department without some serious customization.
-
Are the reliability worries about the Interceptor 650 overblown?
10 January 2025 12:29I haven’t had any catastrophic issues, but I’ve certainly had more niggling problems with my Interceptor than I would expect from a new bike. The odd false neutral, little electrical gremlins, things like that. It isn't unreliable in itself, but it isn't quite as bulletproof as some people would have you believe.
-
How versatile is the Interceptor 650 compared to retro styled bikes?
10 January 2025 12:29There are lots of parts but the Interceptor seems somewhat limited compared to something like a Triumph Bonneville. Some more radical changes are restricted by frame geometry, and performance mods don’t appear to provide as much benefit. While it is good for light customization, it is not good for full blown overhauls.
-
Do people really mean what they say about the Interceptor 650 being beginner friendly?
10 January 2025 12:29For a first bike, I wouldn't recommend the Interceptor as a first bike, as someone who teaches new riders. As you can see, it’s too heavy for many beginners to feel confident with, particularly when moving slowly or picking up. What's more, some models lack ABS. For learning, there are better, lighter options out there.
