Our take on this /// Verdict
The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT is a significantly improved iteration of its predecessor, making it a compelling choice for adventure riders in India. The bikes 888cc triple-cylinder engine now produces 108 horsepower and 90 Nm of torque, enhancing its performance and reactivity. The new 7-inch TFT display, though slow to boot up, is a welcome upgrade with its clear and informative layout. The bikes comfort and ride quality are standout features, with a redesigned seat and improved suspension that make it adept at handling both city traffic and rough Indian roads. However, the absence of a standard quickshifter and the increased service costs post-Bajajs takeover are notable drawbacks. Despite these, the Tiger 900 GT remains a versatile and enjoyable ride, making it my go-to recommendation for casual adventure riders seeking a premium mid-size ADV.
Price
The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT is priced competitively in the Indian market, with an ex-showroom price starting at Rs 13.95 lakh. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can escalate to around Rs 16-17 lakh, depending on the state and local taxes. While it is slightly pricier than some of its competitors like the BMW F 900 GS, the Tiger 900 GTs enhanced features and capabilities justify the cost. However, the additional expense for a quickshifter, which is not included as standard, might be a point of contention for some buyers.
2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT on road price is Rs 16.06 lakh in Delhi, Rs 16.60 lakh in Mumbai, Rs 16.25 lakh in Kolkata and Rs 16.46 lakh in Chennai. The prices mentioned here are approximate and we suggest you contact your nearest Triumph dealership to get the exact on-road price quote in your city.

The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT has received a significant power boost, now producing 106.5 horsepower at 9,500 rpm and 66 pound-feet of torque at 6,850 rpm. This is a 13% increase in power compared to the 2023 model. The bike also features a new 7-inch TFT dash, My Triumph Bluetooth connectivity, and a new USB-C cockpit charger. I believe this update makes the Tiger 900 GT even more appealing for road-focused adventure riders.

Triumph has streamlined the Tiger 900 lineup to just three models: the GT, GT Pro, and Rally Pro. The GT model, priced at Rs. 11.49 lakh (approximately $14,995 USD), is the base model but still comes with major updates, including the new engine, Marzocchi suspension, and enhanced braking features. I think this simplification of the lineup will make it easier for buyers to choose the right model.

The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT Pro and Rally Pro models now feature heated seats as standard, along with a redesigned, flatter, and roomier seat. The handlebars on the Rally Pro have been moved 15mm closer to the rider for improved agility. I believe these comfort enhancements will make long rides much more enjoyable.

Triumph has improved the electronics on the 2024 Tiger 900 models, including an IMU-based electronics suite that governs leaning-sensitive ABS and traction control. The bikes also come with linked braking that activates hazard lights during hard braking. I think these safety features are a significant step forward in making the bike safer and more user-friendly.

The 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT and GT Pro models are equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast aluminum wheels wrapped in Metzeler Tourance Next tires, while the Rally Pro features 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked tubeless wheels with Bridgestone Battlax Adventure tires. I believe the tire choices will cater well to both on-road and off-road enthusiasts.
Mileage
Monday, 18 November 2024 05:14 PM
The mileage of the 2024 Triumph Tiger 900 GT is a notable improvement over its predecessor, thanks to the engine updates. Triumph claims a 9 improvement in fuel efficiency, which is a significant boost. In real-world conditions, you can expect the bike to deliver around 20-25 kml in mixed riding conditions, which is respectable for a bike of its size and power output. This makes the Tiger 900 GT a practical choice for both daily commuting and long-distance touring, especially considering the Indian road conditions where fuel efficiency can vary widely. Ex Showroom Price vs On Road Price | Ex-Showroom Price is the Manufacturing Cost of the vehicle + Dealer/Seller Profit + GST (Goods and Service Tax) + Transportation Charges (from the manufacturing plant to the dealership). On the other hand, the On-Road Price is the actual cost you pay to the dealership to make the vehicle legal to run on the roads. It includes Ex-Showroom Price in your city + RTO Charges (Vehicle Registration) + One Time Road Tax + Insurance Charges. The On-Road Price also includes some optional things like if you opt for Genuine Accessories and Extended Warranty while buying a vehicle. Please note that the On-Road Price varies a lot across different states in India due to different percentage for the State Registration Charges. |
