Since years, Piaggio is a well established motor manufacturer. The company has officially introduced scooters to the Indian market. Piaggio aims to explore a new segment of scooters with the iconic Vespa in India. It is known well by the older generations.

Design and Style

Piaggio Vespa Sprint 125 has got a distinctive retro look. The beauty of this Italian single piece is enchanted by a lot of chrome inserts on it. The prominent characteristic of Sprint 125 is its monocoque design and the steel body which is dipped in a shining and bright paint. It is simple yet looks very classy especially from its front. The stylish round shaped headlight, small tail light, noticeable round shaped grab rail, in built turn indicators and rear view mirrors makes it unique in all. It has got sharp lines on its side panels which gives it a muscular look.

Instrument Console

It is expected to have a simple and fully analogueinstrument console that will be comprised of fuel gauge and speedometer. It can be featured with indicators for low fuel, low oil and low battery which will keep you updated.

Engine and Gearbox

The scooter is expected to be equipped with the same 125cc, air cooled, 4-stroke, 3-valve, SOHC engine that will produce a peak power of 10.06 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm along with an automatic CV transmission.

Safety features and Storage space

Sprint 125 with its steel body provides better protection at the time of collisions. It can be featured with a big, inbuilt lockable glove box and a good under seat storage space. Bag hook is provided above the floor board to carry the essentials.

Brakes and Suspension

It will be equipped with a 200 mm disc brakes at the front and 110 mm drum brakes at the rear which will work smoothly. The suspension system can be comprised of single sided trailing link at the front and hydraulic shock absorber at the rear.

Ride and Handling

Sprint 125 has a well placed handle which is very light and good to grip. The scooter offers superior ride quality even in city traffic. It is very comfortable for long as well as short rides. The scooter is quite stable at high speeds, thanks to an extended wheelbase of 1290 mm.

Tyres

The scooter has got all new 12R alloy wheels which makes it look premium. The R10 size of tyres is expected to work well on the city roads.

Shades

It is expected to be available in the same six beautiful shades: Rosso Dragon (Red), Nero Volcano (Black), Giallo Lime (Yellow), Monte Bianco (White) and Midnight Blue.

Price

The Piaggio Vespa Sprint 125 is expected to be priced around Rs. 90,000 approx (ex-showroom, Delhi) may vary. Overall, it will serve as a good package from Piaggio.
