Our take on this /// Verdict
The Lambretta V200 Special is a scooter that blends retro charm with modern technology, making it a unique offering in the Indian market. My experience with this scooter has been largely positive, particularly with its sleek design and the nostalgic value it carries. The 169cc single-cylinder engine, although not the most powerful, delivers smooth and quick acceleration, making it suitable for urban commuting. The CVT transmission works seamlessly, keeping the engine in its optimal rev range. However, the scooters performance on hills and at higher speeds can be a bit lacking. The braking system, equipped with Bosch ABS, is excellent, providing confident stopping power. While the suspension handles most potholes well, the 12-inch wheels can be a bit unforgiving on rough roads. Overall, the V200 Special is a stylish and practical choice for those looking for a commuter scooter with a bit of flair.
Price
In India, the Lambretta V200 Special is expected to be priced between 1 lakh to 1.3 lakhs ex-showroom. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other taxes, the price can go up to around 1.5 lakhs, depending on the states taxation policies. This pricing places the V200 Special in a competitive segment, pitting it against other premium scooters like the TVS NTORQ 125 and the Bajaj Chetak. Given its unique design, decent performance, and feature-rich package, the price seems reasonable for those who value style and heritage along with practicality.

The new avatar of Lambretta seems to be good. Dual suspension at the rear is a very thoughtful idea. What is the mileage. A hand grip provision for the pillion rider should have been included. How about a spare tyre. Why not a few more colours.
