Kawasaki Z900 Review
Overview
Living up to the expectations as a “refined raw”, the Kawasaki Z900 is an iconic rider-focused naked motorcycle that has given a new meaning to the street bike definition. The cutting-edge style and a superior handling have made it extremely popular amongst the crowd. With a responsive 4-cylinder engine at its heart and an invigorating acceleration, the street bike offers a balance of power and robust handling. The Kawasaki Z900 ABS competes in the market with the likes of Yamaha MT-09 and Suzuki GSX-S750.
The Kawasaki Z900 is powered by a 948 cc, Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke In-Line Four, fuel injection engine that is capable of producing a maximum power of 125 PS @ 9500 rpm and an utmost torque of 98.6 Nm @ 7700 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and gets an assist and slipper clutch for a smooth acceleration unmatching any other bike in its segment. The company promises an optimized power to weight ratio in order to experience better handling and congenial riding.
Coming to the design, the tubular trellis frame and a lightweight crankshaft design compliments the pique character. The dominant front frame and the minimal bodywork gives it an aggressive look. Tender headlight cowl and an elegant fuel tank sculpted in a timely fashion gives it a superior stance. The suspension duties are handled by a 41 mm inverted fork with compression and rebound damping and spring preload adjustability at the front and a horizontal back-link with rebound damping and spring preload adjustability. The Kawasaki Z900 ABS has a kerb weight of 210 kg and the ground clearance of 130mm is supporting enough to handle the rough corners with maximum stability and ease.
The Kawasaki Z900 ABS gets dual semi-floating 300 mm petal discs at the front with a dual opposed 4-piston caliper and single 250 mm petal disc brake at the rear with a single piston caliper. Coming to the instrument console, it gets all the modern features and technologies. The flat and wide handlebars offers a sporty and comfortable riding thereby increasing the communication with the rider and the bike. The Five-way adjustable brake and clutch offers a comfortable ride for every rider. The Kawasaki Z900 is available in the market in Pearl Mystic Gray/Metallic Flat Spark Black, Candy Lime Green/Metallic Spark Black, Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Spark Black, Candy Plasma Blue/Metallic Graphite Gray shades.
