Our take on this /// Verdict
The Kawasaki Z E-1 is a significant step into the electric motorcycle segment, and my experience with it has been quite enlightening. This bike is clearly designed with urban commuters in mind, offering a blend of ease, efficiency, and a touch of Kawasakis signature sporty flair. The silent operation and instant torque make it a joy to navigate through city streets, and the e-boost feature adds a thrilling burst of power when needed. However, the limited range of 72 km and top speed of 99 kmph mean its not suited for long highway rides. The lightweight trellis frame and smooth regenerative braking system contribute to its agile and responsive handling, making it perfect for new riders. While it lacks some modern features like a USB port and keyless start, the overall package is well-thought-out and practical for daily city use.
Price
The 2024 Kawasaki Z E-1 is expected to be priced around Rs 7 lakh in India on an ex-showroom basis. When you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other local taxes, the price could easily cross Rs 8 lakh. While this may seem steep for an electric motorcycle with limited range, its important to consider the quality and engineering that Kawasaki brings to the table. The Z E-1s build quality, performance, and features justify the premium pricing, especially for those who value the brands reputation and the unique benefits of an electric motorcycle.

Kawasaki has updated its 2024 models, including the Z e-1 ABS, with the addition of Kawasaki TRaction Control (KTRC), a system that adjusts power delivery based on several parameters. This update enhances the bikes stability and control, making it even more suitable for urban riding. I think this addition is a significant improvement, as it addresses one of the key concerns for new riders – stability and control.

Kawasaki has launched the 2024 Z e-1 ABS, an all-electric motorcycle designed for urban commuting. This bike features a 5.0 kW electric motor, producing 29.7 lb-ft of torque and a top speed of 53 mph in ROAD mode, or 40 mph in ECO mode, with the option to boost to higher speeds using the e-boost function. The Z e-1 ABS comes with dual removable lithium-ion battery packs, offering a range of approximately 41 miles. I think this is a great step towards sustainable urban mobility, but the range might be a bit limiting for some users.

Kawasaki’s Z e-1 ABS is part of the company’s first foray into road-going electric motorcycles. The bike is powered by a compact brushless electric motor, providing strong off-the-line acceleration and low-end response. It also includes features like ABS, a trellis frame, and a Uni-Trak shock with adjustable spring preload. I think the combination of performance and eco-friendliness is a significant move for Kawasaki, but the pricing at Rs. 7,599 (including destination charge) might be a bit steep for some buyers.
Mileage

The mileage of the Kawasaki Z E-1 is one of its standout features, particularly in the context of urban riding. With a certified range of 72 km on a single charge, this bike is more than adequate for daily commutes within the city. The bike offers two ride modes Road and Eco, which help in managing the range effectively. In Road mode, you can expect a top speed of 85 kmph, while Eco mode limits the top speed to 62 kmph but extends the range. The regenerative braking system also helps in recharging the battery while decelerating, which adds to the overall efficiency. For most urban riders, this range is sufficient and aligns well with the typical daily commute distances in Indian cities.
