Indian Scout Sixty

About
The Indian Scout Sixty is the entry-level model in the Indian Motorcycle lineup, offering a unique blend of style, performance, and affordability. With a 1000cc V-twin engine producing 78 horsepower and 88 Nm of torque, this bike is capable of both city commuting and highway cruising. It features a five-speed transmission, which is one gear less than its bigger sibling, the Scout, but still provides smooth and efficient gear shifts. The bikes design is sleek and compact, with a low seat height that makes it accessible to a wide range of riders. The Scout Sixty also boasts good suspension, although it can feel a bit soft, and it handles corners with surprising agility for a cruiser. Overall, the Scout Sixty is a great choice for anyone looking to experience the American cruiser lifestyle without the high cost associated with larger models.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Indian Scout Sixty is a compelling option for those looking to enter the world of American cruisers without breaking the bank. This bike is compact, nimble, and incredibly fun to ride. Despite its smaller engine compared to its bigger sibling, the Scout Sixty delivers 78 horsepower and 88 Nm of torque, which is more than sufficient for both urban commuting and long highway rides. The bikes handling is impressive, holding lines through corners with ease and providing a confident riding experience. However, there are a few drawbacks, such as the less comfortable seat and the presence of a bit of buzz in the bars at higher revs. Overall, the Scout Sixty strikes a great balance between style, performance, and value, making it a strong contender in its segment.
Price
In India, the Indian Scout Sixty is priced competitively to attract buyers who are drawn to the Indian Motorcycle brand but are on a budget. The ex-showroom price for the Indian Scout Sixty typically ranges between 11.5 lakh to 12.5 lakh, depending on the region and any customizations or additional features. Once you factor in the on-road costs, including registration, insurance, and other charges, the price can go up to around 14 lakh to 15 lakh. This pricing makes the Scout Sixty an attractive option compared to its larger sibling, the Scout, which comes with a significantly higher price tag. For the value it offers in terms of performance, styling, and brand heritage, the Scout Sixty is a good investment for those who want a premium cruiser experience without the hefty price.

Tuesday, 19 November 2024 10:17 AM When it comes to mileage, the Indian Scout Sixty is not designed for fuel efficiency but rather for performance and style. You can expect an average mileage of around 20-25 kml, which is reasonable given its 1000cc engine. While this may not be the best for long-distance touring on a tight budget, it is manageable for regular use and occasional long rides. Indian Scout Sixty Review

24 Mar, 2018 02:22 PM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Indian Motorcycles have made a remarkable presence in India during its early years of launch in the country. The motorcycles are premium cruisers and provide a lot of road presence to the machine and the rider. The all new addition to the lineup has been announced at the EICMA 2015 in the form of 2016 Scout Sixty. The youngest member of the Indian family comes with the most affordable price tag and the best a cruiser can get for the same. Scout Sixty is now on-sale in India for INR 12,19,000 (ex-showroom Delhi).

The Indian Scout Sixty comes with a typical cruiser look, showing its muscle through heavy front and rear metal mudguards and a curved fuel tank. The symmetry of each of the component makes it look perfect from the side look, further adding the charm of dual exhaust outputs in chrome. The single V designed seat looks very attractive and provides a bit of support to the rider. Alloy wheels are mostly covered by huge disc brake from one side and comes with a black finish for a decent look.

The Scout Sixty measures 2311mm in length, 880mm in width and 1207mm in height. The wheelbase measures 1562 mm, with a ground clearance of 135mm. The seat height of the motorcycle is 643mm. The Scout Sixty weighs 254 kg and comes with a 12.5 liter fuel tank.

The bike is powered by a 999.6cc, liquid cooled V-Twin engine producing 78 HP @ 7300 rpm and 88.8 NM @ 5800 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The engine is quiet powerful as pulling the 254 kg Scout Sixty is not an easy task at all. The closed loop fuel injection makes the motorcycle more refined and fuel friendly.

Scout Sixty comes with a 298mm front disc brake with 2-piston caliper whereas a 1-piston caliper, 298 mm disc brake has been used for the rear. ABS goes missing from the motorcycle. The suspension on the front is telescopic forks with 120 mm travel whereas the rear uses dual shocks with only 76 mm of travel. Front uses a fat 130/90-16 wheel whereas the rear is a 150/80-16 unit.

Indian Scout Sixty  comes in Thunder black, Indian Motorcycle Red and Pearl White shade. It gives a tough competition to existing Harley cruisers as the engine seems to be more powerful than the same segment Harley Davidson motorcycles.
