Hyosung GT250R Signature LE

About
The Hyosung GT250R Signature LE is a mid-range sports bike that boasts a striking design and a robust V-twin engine. Powered by a 249cc, 4-stroke, DOHC 8-valve engine, it produces 28 BHP at 10,000 rpm and 22.07 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm. The bike features a 5-speed gearbox, which, although well-spaced, lacks the sixth gear that would enhance its high-speed performance. It has a liquid-cooled engine and fuel injection, contributing to its smooth and linear power delivery. The bikes front dual disc brakes and projector headlights add to its sporty appeal, but the absence of ABS is a significant omission. The riding position is sporty, making it more comfortable for highway rides and track days than city traffic. With a 17-litre fuel tank and a weight of 188 kg, it is not the most practical bike for daily use but offers a unique blend of style and performance that sets it apart in its segment.

Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyosung GT250R Signature LE is a bike that stands out for its stunning looks and sporty demeanor, but it comes with its share of compromises. The bikes design is undoubtedly one of its strongest points, with a full fairing and projector headlights that give it a superbike-like appearance. However, its performance, while respectable, does not quite match its visual appeal. The 249cc V-twin engine produces 28 BHP and 22.07 Nm of torque, which is decent but not exceptional, especially considering the lack of a sixth gear. The bikes heavy weight and sporty riding position make it less practical for city commuting and more suited for occasional highway rides or track days. The absence of ABS and the less-than-ideal braking performance are also notable drawbacks. Despite these issues, the GT250R offers a unique riding experience that is hard to find in other bikes in its segment, making it a good choice for those who prioritize style and a sporty ride over everyday practicality.
Price
In India, the Hyosung GT250R Signature LE is priced at around 3.5 to 4 lakhs ex-showroom, depending on the state and local taxes. On-road prices can range from 4.2 to 4.7 lakhs, including registration, insurance, and other costs. While this pricing is on the higher side compared to some of its competitors like the Honda CBR250R and Kawasaki Ninja 250R, the GT250Rs unique design and features might justify the extra cost for some buyers. However, the high price point does make it less competitive in terms of value for money, especially when considering the lack of advanced features like ABS.
Mileage
Tuesday, 19 November 2024 09:54 AM The mileage of the Hyosung GT250R Signature LE is relatively good for a 250cc bike, with users reporting an average fuel efficiency of around 25-30 kml. This is satisfactory considering the bikes performance-oriented nature and the fact that it is not designed for fuel economy. For those concerned about running costs, this mileage should be manageable, especially if the bike is used primarily for occasional rides rather than daily commuting.

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Hyosung Corporation is a world renowned South Korean industrial conglomerate which works in various fields including IT, construction, trade, industrial machinery and chemical industry and was founded in 1957 with its headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. By 1978, it created a different division which works in the designing and production of motorcycles and made its name on the world platform. In 2007, this division was acquired by another Korean company S&T Group and the name was changed to S&T Motors. It slowly expanded its market in Northern Europe, India, Canada, United States and Australia. In India, it worked with Japanese car manufacturer Toyota since 2000 to create a strong dealership network in Maharashtra with a total of 9 dealerships across the state.

Hyosung GT250R is a 249cc sport bike which was first entered into the market in 2005 and gathered positive reviews and great success. It also saw some changes made to the styling in 2010 to compete with the increasing competition. Now, DSK Hyosung has launched a limited edition of GT250R to celebrate the first anniversary of their exclusive super bike club, the Hy-Ryders on December 13, 2013 and to accelerate some sales ahead of their product launch at 2014 Delhi Auto Expo. This special limited edition is named Hyosung GT250R Signature Edition and has some striking new features in addition to the regular ones to allure new customers. But, DSK Hyosung is selling only 50 of these units, so to maintain its exclusivity and for rapid sales.

Hyosung GT250R Signature Edition has got some really exciting outside features to attract enough customers to sell its 50 units. It has got its twin projector headlamps that superbly cuts out on the scatter loss, clear lens indicators on both sides, handlebar with black and yellow colored rear view mirrors, sporty 17-inch alloy wheels with radial tubeless tires, up-swept chromed silencer, its sporty athletic styling, sporty riding position with an aerodynamic seat angle, stylish fuel tank with deep cuts, reach adjustable front brake lever, a superb analogue instrument console with brightness adjustable digital LCD, adjustable rear seats, black and split grab rail, rear LED tail light and some other minute features. Its new additions which are exclusive on this special edition bike is that it is only available in a hurricane yellow shade and has special decals and branded merchandise along with a special embossing of its owner's signature. It has a length of 2080mm, a width of 655mm and a height of 1090mm as its dimensions along with a seat height of 780mm and has a large wheelbase of 1445mm for a stable ride. With a ground clearance of 130mm, it has a weight of 168kgs and a fuel tank capacity of 17liters.

Hyosung GT250R Signature Edition has the same powerful 249cc, 4-stroke, 8-valves DOHC, liquid-cooled, EFI based V-twin 75-degrees engine with a maximum power of 27.61bhp at 10,000rpm and a maximum torque of 22.07Nm at 8,000rpm and is mated with a six-speed gearbox transmission. It has a top speed of almost 170kmph and reaches 0-100kmph mark in less than 8.5 seconds with a mileage of almost 25-35kmpl.

Hyosung GT250R Signature Edition has got 300mm front disk brakes with twin-piston callipers at front and 230mm disc brakes with single-piston calliper at front. The suspension system consists of non-adjustable and 41mm inverted telescopic forks at front and gas-filled mono shock absorbers with swing arm at rear. Hyosung GT250R Signature Edition is available in a single variant in a hurricane yellow shade at an ex-showroom, Pune price of INR 2.97lakhs, which may vary in different states.

Best looking 250cc bike in India

When I was planning to purchase this bike I was little bit confused whether I should buy it or not. But one of my friends asked me to go with this bike. And I thought it was my good decision as I am satisfied with my machine. The ride quality is completely enjoyable and it absorbs bumps easily without creating any problem for the rider. It weighs at 188 kgs which makes it difficult to control while turning it. The 17-litre fuel tank is very well designed. As far as styling is concerned, it is very attractive and appealing. The turning radius is quite large and the riding position is too sporty for city commute. Braking performance is good but the 300mm twin discs at the front don't really give it any better stopping power. The bike is little bit costly as it lacks many features one would expect at that price.

Best Features: Stunning looks

Pros: Stunning looks, huge fuel tank capacity, fuel efficient, good riding position

Cons: Expensive, heavy weight

Hyosung GT250 R become my first choice, from the day I saw my friends Hyosung. Yeah, I wanna confess here that I felt jealous sometimes when gals attracted towards him. Now, I feel very proud when I ride this bike. Its style is damn awesome and it has 3 disc brakes which makes me tension free while riding at high speeds. As I owned Red color Hyosung, so I find it best among others. It just lack in power which goes opposite to my expectations. It packs twin cylinder engine but power it generates is equal to single cylinder. So, this could be the only cons in my view. Rest its a wonderful bike.
