Our take on this /// Verdict
The Hyosung GD250R is a compelling addition to the 250cc segment in India, offering a blend of performance, styling, and features that make it a worthy contender. The bikes 249cc, liquid-cooled, DOHC, 4-valve single-cylinder engine produces 27.6 BHP and 24.17 Nm of torque, which is impressive for its class. The 6-speed gearbox, although a bit notchy, helps in extracting the full potential of the engine. The bikes handling is nimble, thanks to its lightweight frame and well-tuned suspension, making it a joy to ride on both city roads and twisty highways. However, the ride quality can be too sporty for Indias road conditions, and the absence of ABS is a notable omission. Despite these minor drawbacks, the GD250Rs sporty design, advanced technology, and solid build quality make it a likeable machine that could attract buyers looking for a performance-oriented bike in this segment.
Price
The Hyosung GD250R is expected to be priced competitively in the Indian market, with an ex-showroom price ranging between 1,75,000 to 2,00,000 in Delhi. On-road prices, including taxes and other charges, could push the figure closer to 2,20,000 to 2,50,000, depending on the state and local taxes. Given its features and performance, this pricing positions the GD250R as a strong rival to other bikes in the 250cc segment, such as the Honda CBR250R and Benelli TNT 250. However, the success of the GD250R will heavily depend on how well Hyosung can match the quality, reliability, and service experience offered by its competitors.

Hyosung GD250R Review

17 Jul, 2018 04:52 AM

Quick Review by Maxabout Team

Hyosung has been struggling from a long time to make its place in the Indian market, most launches of it failing due to the hefty price tags and the rise in competition, which mostly comes with a lower price and higher power. With all these problems in the way, the bike maker still wishes to make a bet and this time we expect the GD250R for their rescue.

The GD250R looks much sharp than any of the Hyosung offerings till date. It comes with a huge underbelly exhaust system, which looks really different than others. The front houses twin projectors and the side fairing looks even throughout the machine. It features a fully digital instrument console, which comprises of a single LCD panel showing all the values like speed, distance and rpm.

The best part of the bike comes here when we see the engine part. The GD250R is powered by 249 cc, single cylinder motor, producing 27.6 BHP @ 9500 rpm and 24.17 NM @ 7000 rpm. The same power was earlier generated through a double cylinder motor by Hyosung. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The motor is said to be quiet responsive and the reduced body weight facilitates the same.

The front comes with a 300 mm single disc brake whereas the rear is equipped with a 230 mm unit. The suspension work in the front gets 37 mm upside down forks and the rear being handled by dual side aluminum swing arm. It weighs around 155 kg and an excellent combo of 110/70 and 150/60 tires have been used for the front and rear respectively. Hyosung is said to launch the GD250R in Silver, White and Black shade with an expected price tag of INR 2,00,000.

Launch date details of the followings bikes are: 1-Hyosung GD250R: The GD250R is a full faired 250cc bike producing 28 bhp and 24 NM torque. No news regarding the bike's launch is out yet. However, some sources say it could be launched this year, or early next year. 2-Kawasaki Ninja 250SL: The Ninja 250SL is expected to be priced around INR 2 lacs. However, Kawasaki hasn't said anything about its launch date. 3-Honda CBR 250R(2016): Honda has no plans to launch the 2016 CBR 250R in India. It is focusing on bigger bikes. 4-KTM RC 250: The RC250 is a great bike, and can fill in the gap between the RC200 and the RC390, however the chances of the RC250 to launch in India are very low. We don't expect the bike to come out anytime soon.
