Vehicle Overview | Hero Xtreme was a lesser sporty version of the currently on sale Xtreme Sports from the company's lineup. It came with a 149.2cc, air cooled engine producing 14.2 BHP and 12.8 Nm of torque. It claimed a top speed of 114 kmph and came with slight amount amount of fairing around the headlamp. The seat was no divided while it still retained the option of single as well as double disc brake. Hero Xtreme (Rear Disc) Review
Overview
Hero MotoCorp is one of India's largest motorcycle manufacturing companies, which was once known as Hero Honda, back when Hero and Honda were partners. They got separated in 2013 and Hero MotoCorp has made its ties to USA's company EBR (Erik Buell Racing) some time ago. Recently, there has been a lot of buzz and rumours of the launch of a restyled Karizma ZMR, Karizma R, Xtreme and some other bikes of Hero MotoCorp. Now, the speculations are unfolded by Hero MotoCorp at a press conference in Gurgaon where they unveiled 15 of their restyled products on October 10, 2013. The company has finally launched the 2014 version of the Xtreme 150cc commuter bike in India with a starting price tag of Rs.67,400 for the base model.
Design and Style
The new Hero Xtreme is showing some remarkable changes and exciting new features such as a sleeker tank with new stylish Xtreme logo on it, single stylish seating, headlamp with sporty eyebrow lights, sporty dual colored rear view mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels with tubeless radial tires and LED tail light with light guides. There are also a couple of new additions which are getting everybody's attention. There is an Electronic Immobilizer which prevents the engine from running without the correct assigned key and there is also a 'Side Stand Switch' which automatically cuts off the ignition if the stand is not folded. Another new addition is a Mobile Charger socket which is a great utility feature. The bike has a tubular diamond type chassis that gives it a sturdy look.
Instrument Panel
2014 Hero Xtreme also has got a brightly illuminating and trendy instrument console with a digital fuel gauge and speedometer, an analogue tachometer and dual digital trip meters along with a low fuel indicator and pass-light.
Dimensions and Fuel Tank Capacity
The new Hero Xtreme comes with a length of 2060 mm, width of 765 mm and a height of 1145 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 146 Kgs. The fuel tank has a good capacity of 12.10-litres.
Engine and Gearbox
The new Hero Xtreme has the same 149.2cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, advanced micro-processor ignition system, OHC based engine which kicks out a maximum power of 14.2 bhp at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.8 Nm at 6500 rpm. It is mated with a 5-speed gearbox transmission and a wet multi-plate clutch.
Acceleration and Performance
The new Hero Xtreme can accelerate from 0-60 in just 5 seconds. The commuter offers an average mileage of 60 kmpl on highways that reduces to 50 kmpl on the city roads. The Xtreme surprises everybody with its amazing performance on road.
Brakes and Suspension
The bike has 240mm disc brake at front and 130mm 'Internal Expanding Shoe type' drum brakes at rear. There is also present an option of choosing a 220mm disc brake for rear if the customer wants by paying some extra cash. The suspension system consists of telescopic hydraulic type at front and rectangular swing arm type at rear.
Ride and Handling
Hero Xtreme offers you a pleasant ridding experience. The bike has an extended wheelbase of 1325 mm and a ground clearance of 145 mm. These two makes the Xtreme a perfect rider for uneven roads. The well positioned handlebars offer a comfortable and relaxed riding position.
Tyre Size
2014 Hero Xtreme has tyre size of 80/100 18-inch on the front while 110/90 18-inch is placed at the rear end. Both the wheels come equipped with matte-black finished alloys.
Variants
Hero Xtreme is available in two variants: front disc and double disc.
Shades
2014 Hero Xtreme is available in five shades: Mercuric Silver, Jazz Blue, Fiery Red, Panther Black and Magma Orange.
Warranty
It also comes with a vehicle warranty of 5 years or 70,000 kms and an Emission warranty of 3 years or 30,000 kms.
Price
The standard variant is priced at Rs. 67,400 and the dual-disc version is available for Rs. 70,700. Overall, the new Hero Xtreme is certainly riding high along with the new advancements and has a lot of exciting features.

Best Features: No best features as such coz spare parts starts to rust faster coz of low quality metal. As this an Indian company we purchased this bike now it's looking as a waste so buyers plzz don't buy this bike

Cons: The mileage is not up to the mark it only gives 35-40 kmpl. As the speed crosses 50kmphr engine starts vibrating and it is too noisy. The chain loosens after every 15 days. Front disc brake is too noi
