Hero Xtreme (Rear Disc) Review
Overview
Hero MotoCorp is one of India's largest motorcycle manufacturing companies, which was once known as Hero Honda, back when Hero and Honda were partners. They got separated in 2013 and Hero MotoCorp has made its ties to USA's company EBR (Erik Buell Racing) some time ago. Recently, there has been a lot of buzz and rumours of the launch of a restyled Karizma ZMR, Karizma R, Xtreme and some other bikes of Hero MotoCorp. Now, the speculations are unfolded by Hero MotoCorp at a press conference in Gurgaon where they unveiled 15 of their restyled products on October 10, 2013. The company has finally launched the 2014 version of the Xtreme 150cc commuter bike in India with a starting price tag of Rs.67,400 for the base model.
Design and Style
The new Hero Xtreme is showing some remarkable changes and exciting new features such as a sleeker tank with new stylish Xtreme logo on it, single stylish seating, headlamp with sporty eyebrow lights, sporty dual colored rear view mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels with tubeless radial tires and LED tail light with light guides. There are also a couple of new additions which are getting everybody's attention. There is an Electronic Immobilizer which prevents the engine from running without the correct assigned key and there is also a 'Side Stand Switch' which automatically cuts off the ignition if the stand is not folded. Another new addition is a Mobile Charger socket which is a great utility feature. The bike has a tubular diamond type chassis that gives it a sturdy look.
Instrument Panel
2014 Hero Xtreme also has got a brightly illuminating and trendy instrument console with a digital fuel gauge and speedometer, an analogue tachometer and dual digital trip meters along with a low fuel indicator and pass-light.
Dimensions and Fuel Tank Capacity
The new Hero Xtreme comes with a length of 2060 mm, width of 765 mm and a height of 1145 mm as its dimensions along with a weight of 146 Kgs. The fuel tank has a good capacity of 12.10-litres.
Engine and Gearbox
The new Hero Xtreme has the same 149.2cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled, advanced micro-processor ignition system, OHC based engine which kicks out a maximum power of 14.2 bhp at 8500 rpm and a maximum torque of 12.8 Nm at 6500 rpm. It is mated with a 5-speed gearbox transmission and a wet multi-plate clutch.
Acceleration and Performance
The new Hero Xtreme can accelerate from 0-60 in just 5 seconds. The commuter offers an average mileage of 60 kmpl on highways that reduces to 50 kmpl on the city roads. The Xtreme surprises everybody with its amazing performance on road.
Brakes and Suspension
The bike has 240mm disc brake at front and 130mm 'Internal Expanding Shoe type' drum brakes at rear. There is also present an option of choosing a 220mm disc brake for rear if the customer wants by paying some extra cash. The suspension system consists of telescopic hydraulic type at front and rectangular swing arm type at rear.
Ride and Handling
Hero Xtreme offers you a pleasant ridding experience. The bike has an extended wheelbase of 1325 mm and a ground clearance of 145 mm. These two makes the Xtreme a perfect rider for uneven roads. The well positioned handlebars offer a comfortable and relaxed riding position.
Tyre Size
2014 Hero Xtreme has tyre size of 80/100 18-inch on the front while 110/90 18-inch is placed at the rear end. Both the wheels come equipped with matte-black finished alloys.
Variants
Hero Xtreme is available in two variants: front disc and double disc.
Shades
2014 Hero Xtreme is available in five shades: Mercuric Silver, Jazz Blue, Fiery Red, Panther Black and Magma Orange.
Warranty
It also comes with a vehicle warranty of 5 years or 70,000 kms and an Emission warranty of 3 years or 30,000 kms.
Price
The standard variant is priced at Rs. 67,400 and the dual-disc version is available for Rs. 70,700. Overall, the new Hero Xtreme is certainly riding high along with the new advancements and has a lot of exciting features.

Complaint regarding mileage, performance, service and spare parts of D bike
Service Centres does not do the proper work no changing of gear oil etc.mahim service Centre was my experience where I gave my bike for servicing. Buying this bike is a waste n very bad investment. While buying this bike we thought as it is an Indian company it will be good but this was not the case n u fooled us plzz don't do this.
Best Features: No best features as such coz spare parts starts to rust faster coz of low quality metal. As this an Indian company we purchased this bike now it's looking as a waste so buyers plzz don't buy this bike
Pros: Only the look
Cons: The mileage is not up to the mark it only gives 35-40 kmpl. As the speed crosses 50kmphr engine starts vibrating and it is too noisy. The chain loosens after every 15 days. Front disc brake is too noi
I have very bad experience that bike is not at all running in rainy season.
Due to more sensors in bike it is not running in rainy seasons. it should work in all seasons. I am very fed up in rainy season bike is not working even you start by kick. request user to your experience.

Hero Xtreme (Rear Disc) Discussion
Only problem is the vibration of bike in 60 to 70 kmph zone. After 70 kmph it feels like bike is running on air.......very smooth.....but after 50 kmph too much vibration.
AWARNESS FOR BIKERS. JUST FOLLOW THIS FOR SAFE AND HAPPY RIDING.........
Only in india, guys drive all the bikes like sports bike!. What kind of an arrogant attitude is that, yeah i know i seen young guys driving Bullet, bajaj enticer, pulsar, apache , even bajaj discover like sports bikes ( where did these guys get that stupid attitude). This causes lot of accidents (INDIA IS IN NO:2 for the most no of Traffic accidents, No: 1 is china, just check the statistics).
First of all awareness about the bikes in India
-------------------------
List of commuters that are targeted as economy bikes and for mileage (these are not sports bike, if u don't agree check with a bike expert, dont follow your friends who are just showoffs. Because some or many of the expensive bike owners are like just poster boys for their bikes, and do not have a biker attitude. A real biker knows the true essence of his bike.).
All TVS bikes
All current bajaj bikes, till pulsar 220F, except avenger ( Bajaj has promised Pulsar 400cc and a full faired version of pulsar 200ss, to be a true sports bike, lets hope and wait till 2015 end).
All hero bikes except karizma, because karizma is a toure r- check with an expert
All honda bikes in india except CBR 150r and CBR 250r., Above 250cc bikes still fall under different category.
All Yamaha Bikes in india except Yamaha R15 (first sports bike below 200 cc category), FZ series launched in india is a commuter type not a naked street bike like performance like its elder siblings( I like the FZ8 and FZ1, these are cool). Above 250cc bikes still fall under different category.
All suzuki bikes
All mahindra bikes

List of cruiser bikes in india

Bajaj enticer
List of bikes in india that are both commuter and also like tourer.
Hero honda karizma 2003 till 2013 ( not the new Hero karizma, it lacks comfort)
yamaha fazer (but it lacks pillion seat comfort, and rear disk brake).
hero hunk, cbz (wow what a comfort)
honda unicorn, trigger (bit slow in performance)
suzuki gs150r (wow what a comfort)
List of bikes in india that have the sports bike performance and are also occasional tourer.

List of street bikes with good handling and performance, but is not comfortable for long distance rides
KTM duke 200 and 390
pulsar 200NS
yamaha fz16, fzs
suzuki gixer
Other higher end bikes are still not launched in India, but are available abroad.
Well let me give you the best bikes for our Indian road condition, these are based on the following criteria.
Best braking and handling (safety first)
Best suspension system with tourer like comfort seats.
Reasonable power with outright performance
slick and best handling.
1. Honda CBR 250r
2. Karizma (known for being the first Indian bike to be considered as a tourer, except the fact like it lacks best griped tyres (front and rear) and rear disk brakes, but still u can consult a pro biking centre and make these modification).
3. Royal Enfield Bullet (only drawback is it is more heavier)
4. Kawasaki Ninja 400, 650r and ER-6n (waiting for these bikes to be released in india.),
And we have more than 30 to 40 bikes to be release in India, let’s hope the best.
Happy and safe Biking.
How about making scooty with 150cc and above cc engines.sounds not only good but very nice because scooty gives very much pleasure like car during driving. It is easy to cross 50kmph with pleasing/pleasureble comfort.there is no back pain problem because both legs are in touching suitable for long drives like cars.surely it will success like present cc riding problamatics for 40 and above ages due to back pains arise by seating.I hope mfrs surely comup for this test.

hiiii friends i purchase new hero extreame on 19march 2013 in 75,000/ on road
let me describe about my experience ..
this is 150cc bike n so heavy bike to handle but well control on highway...dont buy this bike if your height is less than 5ft trust me u cant handle it ..now its performance is excellance ..pic up was so good ..more comfort to rider little bit trouble on pilion rider due to height of the back seat .....i got average above 50 but i cant ride my bike above 60kg speed..looks was so goooooooddd every one see this bike every where u go..dont go for pulser150 due to its engine sount on time passes ..i dont face any problem with my bike ..i think go for it otherwise at low price honda shine is better option .
This is the best bike in 150cc. only if u can do with its front looks which actually are not as bad people say they are. Its got the most potent engine and even outshines the Apache RTR 160 in overall performance terms. It also got gud efficiency and I luv its quite exhaust note. It also has a free revving engine and also beats the All new Pulsar 150 which has 15.06 PS of Powers both in terms of price and performance. Go for it dude............Surya, Also if u want to extract more power out of it, then get it fixed with a K&N Filter and add the Carburetor from a bullet to increase fuel flow.
Xtreme is a flagship bike from Hero which is their best seller in the 150cc segment of bikes. Hero Motocorp India has given another minor face-lift to its popular bike, Xtreme, which now gets host of new comfort and safety features.

hi frds click the below link and win the cbz bick
cbz 2012 is best. i have own bike used 27 day. it has great pickup and very smooth bike. mileage of 40+ before first servicing. ridding comfort for both rider or pillon.handling is good. but for heavy weight it has difficult to take reverse. it maid for above height 5.7 person. look sporty and i have kick or self both.light is great of the bike. only one is not give engine of bottom but no need of that. i have very satisfied with my bike. i ride hunk,p 150,apache160,my cbz.
i reject apache or pulsor for their poor engine quality my friend say that who have own p150 or apche. bhai bike nahi tension hai. and i reject hunk because hunk has no upgrade for 5 year.
i say that cbz is best but you buy with your choice. jo dil kahe wahi lo warna bad me pachtaoge.
Please let me know the on road price of hero xtreme (new model with kick start) in bangalore. I am planning for front disc brake. [email protected]
Hero Xtreme - Comfort / Average milege - I bought this bike on 7 / 12 / 2012 with single disc brk.
Awesome look. Has Kick start where as previous version of CBZ extreme doesn't have it..
I agree to this statement : first 1000 to 1500 Kms have to be run under 50 KMPH speed to have better milege

2.pick up its good , i feel its having better pick up than other 150 CC bike .
3. low maintaince cost .
4 .No vibration at 80 or 90 Km per hour speed .
5 . intial pick up is really good 0-60 in 5 sec .
6. Great looks new split seats and digital meter ..
7. i have modified my CBZ xtreme headlight with two pilot lamps ..which increases its looks..

Am planning to buy CBZ Extreme without Kick will it create any issues in future?
First and
foremost of all these reviews have to be taken only as a reference. When
you are purchasing a new bike, just test drive and listen to your heart
and find out what is the best one.
Engine and Power:
Hero CBZ Xtreme - 149.9 CC
APACHE RTR - 158.9 CC
HONDA Unicorn - 149.9CC
Bajaj Pulsar - 149.9 CC
and finally Yamaha also of 153CC or so
Now to be frank since APACHE is having 160 CC engine naturally it will
be having high engine power compared to others. But as there is power
naturally there is no mileage. As petrol prices are increasing like
hunger in INDIA, there is small chance of looking for mileage also. For
big boys this is not a much, but for normal people, who are looking for
150 cc bike with mileage it is not good as APACHE gives only 40-45 KMPL.
Now i have selected CBZ Xtreme, HONDA UNICORN, PULSAR, and Yamaha FAZER
Engine Maintenance:
All the bikes at
the first 1000 to 1500 Kms have to be run under 50 KMPH speed, if you
are racing your bike during the first birth of your bike. then you will
have troubles with your Mileage as that will come down drastically to
50% the company has given.
I also have got four friends who are
using PULSAR 150 and 180 CC but they said that at first the engine was
smooth and nice but when 20000 or 30000 kms are covered, then the engine
developed a kind of more vibrating noise and bajaj has a history of
less time to get to REBORE OF THE ENGINE. So From my list of CBZ,
UNICORN, PULSAR and FAZER -- > PULSAR WAS SCRATCHED
Coming to CBZ UNICORN AND FAZER. Most important factor of all to the
Youth as well as other people. THE LOOKS. We are purchasing a top bike
so we have to see our thing even looks better.
UNICORN IS THE MOST
COMFORTABLE Ride but its looks are rather old and plain. No digital
consoles or Tubeless tire or other new things are not there
Coming
to FAZER Strictly speaking FAZER is the most nicely looking bike. 100%
marks to Fazer for its beauty. But why did i not consider FAZER then,
only because of Its PRICE - HYDERABAD 90000-96000 Rupees along with all
standard and other fitments. Strictly i couldn’t afford that much. so i
deleted FAZER and also fazer because of huge body will not give a
mileage more than 35-40 KMPL.
Coming to
UNICORN and CBZ- because cbz is more sporty , i opted for CBZ xtreme.
Mileage is nice around 55-60 KMPL Speed is good. But only disadvantage
no Kick rod. But to be frank HOW many YAMAHA FZ, YAMAHA R15 and YAMAHA
R1, is having a kick rod. see for yourself, aren’t they rnning in the
streets. and even Pulsar 220, Hero Karizma ZMR is also not having a kick
rod. So there are bikes out there which will run without a kick rod.
Comin to mileage MOst IMPORTANT THING IN INDIA(not for the boys whose wallet is full of paper):
APACHE RTR 160 - 40-45 kmpl
APACHE RTR 180 ABS- 30--40 KMPL
BAJAJ PULSAR 150 - 45 - 50 KMPL
BAJAJ PULSAR 180 - 35-40 KMPL
CBZ Xtreme 150 - 50-55 KMPL
HONDA Unicorn 150 - 50 - 55 KMPL
YAMAHA FAZER - 35-40 KMPL
YAMAHA FZ - 40-45 KMPL
YAMAHA R15 - 30-38 KMPL - MY GOD THIS IS HORRIBLE
YAMAHA R1 - HEY joking right what willl you expect form 1000 cc bike
KARIZMA - 25-30 KMPL
KARIZMA ZMR - 30-34 KMPL
SO guys these are my reviews, From all these things i have opted for
Honda Unicorn and Hero CBZ Xtreme. But for Latest things in CBZ Xtreme i
have chosen it and i like my bike very much Thank you hero moto corp.
NOTICE: Do not tell that your bike is not giving proper mileage, if you
are not following the company instructions. Every mother will give a
good baby, but the out side environment, that makes the baby either good
or bad. If you give him good food and other things, baby stays good.
EVERY BIKE MANUFACTURER TELLS THAT DURING THE FIRST 1000 TO 1500 KMS
USAGE OF THE BIKE RUN THE BIKE NOT MORE THAN 50 TO 55 KILOMETERS PER
HOUR SPEED. DONOT GO MORE THAN 50 - 55 SPEED. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT AS
YOUR BIKE ENGINE WILL BE ADJUSTING ITSELF TO THE ENVIRONMENT. NEW BIKE
PISTON AND RINGS WILL BE HAVING INITIAL WEAR. IF YOU START RACING YOUR
BIKE, THEN THERE IS NO CHANCE THAT YOU WILL GET MORE MILEAGE. YOU PEOPLE
WILL NOT BELIEVE, MY OLD BIKE GLAMOUR EVEN GOT ME A MILEAGE OF 67 KMPL
Crossing the companies mileage on HIGHWAY. THIS IS BECAUSE I RAN MY BIKE
BELOW 50 during first 1500 KMS RUN.
SO GUYS THIS IS MY
REVIEW. I HOPE THIS HELPS. BUT FINALLY I AM TELLING YOU ONE THING ALWAYS
DO WHAT YOU LIKE. IF YOU LIKE A BIKE AND YOU CAN AFFORD IT THEN TAKE
IT. BIKE WILL DELIVER YOU THE EXACT THING AS THE MANUFACTURER PROMISED
IF YOU ARE AN EFFICIENT RIDER ( PLEASE FORGIVE ME IF THIS HURTS
ANYBODY).
THANK YOU
and i THANK HERO MOTOCORP FOR DELIVERING SUCH AN AMAZING BIKE FOR ME
I wnt to know the mileage of cbz xtream bike ..................if any one know plz mail me ..... i wnt to take this bike.

And which is best for me bcuz my hyght 5.6 and 75 kg wieght cbz xtrem or apache rtr160
Hey frnds please tell me which bike is best cbz xtrem or apache hyper edge 160
hey guys i bought tis bike on june 30 ,2011. till now i got around 50--58 mileage over all ,such a grt bike in 150cc segment ,low maintainence ,body vibration is less,no body pain if u drive for a long to pulsar or apache ,cbz performance is soo gud...my verdict against front look of a bike...but performance is good ;-)
very good bike...giving mileage of 40-45KMPL after one year...very low maintainable....comfort is good.
Problem in headlight...it was supposed to be work on Battery although it is working on magnet...so less comfortable to ride on night...
but still best bike in segment....
driving a bike is more of a taste and nothing is universal. if anyone seriously considering to buy something, go and test drive. You never know all depends on beholder's eye
i want to buy cbz xtreame in black color but i am unable to buy becz of not available in hero showrooms.
someone can tell me where is available.
there is a button (or similar thing) in New CBZ called "choke lever" (near clutch handle) we can use to start the engine in law batry or cold conditions ... earlier i had starting problem ... now im starting a day with "choke lever" ... no starting problem
